 El Diario Tonto? Oh come on!

Hahaha. And look at one the comments a member of Eurosport has left:

"Unbelievable. You are either Spanish or you aren't. The elligibility rules in sport are a joke. So farsical it's not worth commenting on."

What a gullible douche!

:haha: at that comment. Not getting this as a joke makes one a candidate for 'Looney of the Day'.

It is a very good sign -being hated-. That means the others feel jealous about what you do. It obviously means the hater is inferior to you.

Not at all. I think Federer has been the best player in this decade. I love the way he plays. If he had Nadal's spirit, he would be unbeatable.

I generally like the Spanish but I absolutely despise Nacho Novo, he is a fucking cheating scumbag.

On a more serious note will Murray not be eligable to play Davis Cup for the US soon enough, seeing as he lives there.

I could see that happening.

He probably plays for a football team you don't support. Am I right?:)

Yes:angel:

However it's not just for that reason. Plenty of players play for the team in question but there is only a couple of them I actively hate, him being the main one.

There's not a hope in hell. He's a fiercely patriotic Scot, by all accounts. It'll never happen.

Even if this wasn't a joke and he wanted to play he won't make it to the team considering most matches are played on clay and there is no way they are picking him ahead of Nadal, Ferrer, Ferrero, Verdasco, Almagro and Lopez (for doubles).

"I hate being Scottish,I don't even hate the English—they're just wankers. We, on the other hand, are colonized by wankers." (Ewan McGregor, in Trainspotting, 1996).*

Oh dear, tut tut!

And why is everybody calling Murray an April fool? He seems foolish enough all-year round.

*Some Basques and Catalans have been known to say similar things about Spaniards, but we all know they were simply joking, of course. Or is it pennis envy?

Nope he would be the no.2, maybe could play doubles on clay...not good enough to play singles

Strange. Murray spent 2 years training in Barcelona but he can't speak Spanish. I guess he had to talk in English with his coach and most of the other players there but it's still weird he didn't learn the language in that time.

Couple of points, that quote is from a movie. McGregors character said it, so attributing the quote to him is a bit retarded, he was paid money to say it, as actors are.

Additionally the quote is incorrect, Scotland is not colonized, it is in a union.

I thought most people would know Trainspotting is a famous movie and McGregor an actor, so I saw no need to state two obvious facts. Anyway, I'm curious about why the script writer should choose to put that phrase in the film, and why a movie with such a script was so hugely successful. Maybe he was tapping into something?

As for the union vs colony issue, I suspect your sense of humour has known better days. It would seem you are the sort to fret over April fool jokes.

Additionally, as I make clear in my last sentence, I come from a country that knows more than it would like to know about the squablings of small nationalist minorities, rest assured I have no interest in seeing countries break up, it almost always is a huge mistake. Hell, I still add up Serbian and Croatian sport feats, me thinks they were all far better off inside Yugoslavia!
