I think Tsonga played a really solid match. Good winner/ue ratio.

probably the best match from tsonga this year.

You might call it 'took him to the cleaners' :o. Juanqui got blown off the court, too bad. I don't think there was much he could do about it really. Whatever, good luck on the clay, Juanqui!

Congrats, Jo-Willie. Impressive performance! :hatoff:

Tsonga far too strong today. Loads of winners and very few UEs. Hit 8 aces in 8 service games.

JCF had a chance to get back in but hit two uncharacteristic BH errors to give Tsonga the break at *2-3 in the 2nd set.

To be honest I was a bit surprised to see Ferrerro being considered 50/50 against Tsonga in the www thread. Tsonga is looking pretty good in this tournament, if he could just stop having a bad service game every now and then he'd be looking like a contender.

Yup, this was a mismatch - a Heavyweight vs. a Welterweight.

JC tried to play aggressive by going for lines and coming to net, but he just doesn’t have the weapons to hurt Tsonga on HC.

GIMELSCHMUCK: "The best part about Tsonga, the celebration! The dudes got the greatest celebration in tennis! He's pure box office!"

Gimelschmuck and Clownonga - made for each other.

Did Justin really say that? I always turn off a Tsonga match immediatley after the last point just so I don't have to see that celebration - and Did Tsonga dance around after this blow out like he just won the whole tourney?

 JC - revenge against the dancing fool on clay. Tsonga did play well (not spectacular, but didn't need too) and someone like JC just won't have a chance against a Tsonga on hard who is playing well.

Awesome by Jo! Bye bye Nadull :wavey:

Wow, wtf happened to JCF?! On this court he should never lose this big against Tsonga. Probably with his head on the clay already.

Ferrero was off, Tsonga was on fire. That's not the real difference between them on hardcourts.

Absolutely spot on, it all seemed to change in the match against Almagro in the Aussie open this year, before then you could see he was uncomfortable on that side and would often run around the ball to hit it with his forehand, and when he did hit a backhand shot it would almost be like giving away a free point because more often than not it would hit the net, but against Almagro he was under serious pressure and somehow he produced a brilliant double backhand winner to keep him in it and suddenly his confidence in that shot just grew from there, in the same game he produced another two or three backhand winners and since then he's been winning more and more points in games with his backhand.

I always felt that was his biggest weakness and now he seems to be addressing it i think he'll be a major force in the future, his serve is dangerous, his forehand is deadly and his volleys can be a joy to watch, if the backhand stays in form then he should go far in the slams to come.
