very entertaining match, the result was NID even after Pico played a very good first set ;)

these courts are horrible to play with touch because it's too windy

Gonzo struggled with the wind early on. Lots of nice forehand, lob winners from both. Monaco gave up after losing the 2nd set. At one point Gonzo hit monaco in the head with a cross court forehand..he did the same sort of thing to stepanek last year. Interesting french open rematch with soderling tomorrow :D

Pico was playing pretty well, had a few bps in the middle of the second, but Gonzalez came up with a couple fantastic running backhand passing shots which really turned the tide of the match around.

Monaco should do some damage on the clay, but Gonzalez will have to get his act together tomorrow. Soderling has been playing really well.

A strange yet highly entertaining match. Things didnít bode well for Gonzo with the gusty winds, but they eventually died down along with Monacoís confidence. Two embarrassingly whiffed overheads didnít help matters and Gonzo took control mid way thru the 2nd set.

I hope he takes out Soderass.

Amazing from gonzo as it looked as though he had given up for the first few games in the second, the hold of the break points really inspired him.

When was the last match in which both players had a positive W/UE? Probably the last time two non-pushers played on non-clay... Fed-Soderling USO '09 QF?

I haven't been on MTF for a while now Gonzo is described as a pusher? Geeze- I guees he is also a mug since that seems to be the cool thing to do here for the past two years- to describe everyone as a mug and/or pusher.

It just seemed to me like it took Gonzo a while to deal with the wind- but I guess that makes him a pusher? Seems when someone like him who hits for the lines in the wind would be a bad strategy and being more moderated would do him better- which it seemed to. After a while he learned to time his strokes in the bad conditions. So getting better stragegy in harsh conditions makes him a pusher?

If you dont hit 50 winners a match you are a pusher, keep up.

 I haven't seen the match, but Gonzalez is not a pusher. The inflation of this term is getting ridiculous.
