Is this the end of Blake?

Thomaz only serving at 47% first serves as well :o

+ Rochus next, nice draw for Thomaz!

GOD, this blake is good. I knew this would be one of his hardest matches for 2010.

Expected, Bellucci is just the far better player at the moment.

Blake is the ATP's Obama....all fluff.. supposedly Mr. Nice Guy with supposed credentials whose "aggressive" (ballbashing) game is soooo popular with the fans.

Btw, I like Obama actually (I am only referring to the media's biases either for or against him. In the case of Blake, the press has always been his cheerleader)

Quite possibly the end of Blake, yes. Like I said a few weeks back, he might be best staying in the USA for some challenger events (easier points) than making the trip to European clay...his ranking can take a huge hit (out of top 100) by mid-June. Not sure his pride will make him see sense though.

Either way, he has a rough year ahead of him, and his age only makes it tougher (as far as motivation is concerned).

Don't necessarily agree that Rochus is a 'nice draw' for Bellucci...Thomaz has still yet to really prove himself off the clay, and Ollie is a pest.

 Yeah they also plugged him before IW as well. Obviously Djoker is in crap form, but I was still thinking that Blake's mini-section wasn't exactly a 'favourable' draw as they had described it. :o

Bellucci's draw is opening up nicely here. He could make the QF.

LOL @ you guys mentioning the ATP website heroic"ing" the efforts of Blake, they had the article up on Sunday where they were saying this was the tourny that he would get back into the top 10. LMFAO. yah, in your dreams.

let the guy go back to harvard already, dammnit. So sick of the effing ballbashing as hard as he pissing can.

Always great to see Blake lose. The day he falls out of the top 100 will be glorious.

Well Bellucci obviously has a lot of talent and he is really improving this year :yeah:

Blake is still in poor form though :o He almost lost his 1st match too

And now he can focus on grass and hard courts for the next few months while he loses every week on clay...

After beating the kid Krajinovic, you'd think he'd have come through this, but that's it really.

Bellucci :yeah:

I agree. He should go back to Harvard and at least complete his college education. He's an intelligent guy but it doesn't show on a tennis court. At this point he should just bow out, get his degree, and choose another career.

last year he had nearly his best result on clay, reaching the final in Estoril after beating Davydenko

I like Belluccis game. He has definitely showed that he is capable of playing good tennis even indoors (good run in Stockholm last fall) and now on hardcourt. And as someone else mentioned, how can an intelligent guy like Blake have such a stupid game...

Awful, James. The draw opened up perfectly so you go and lose in the second round?
Maybe he should play some USTA challengers, anything to get some confidence and wins.

A month ago I thought he would play in Sunrise but won 2nd round in Indian Wells and couldn't enter the draw in Sunrise :)

Yeah. But I mean the normal USTA challengers coming up with average challenger fields like Baton Rouge and Tallahassee. Such a wasted chance here, though. :o

Too much pride perhaps, either way he is done as an elite player.

many people said that about Ljubicic and Ferrero one year ago ;)
