Temps will approach 90 degrees on Friday so conditioning and hot weather play will be a factor.

I'll take the "Scottish Dolt" in three.

Guille.

Brain says Murray in 3, but I hope Robin wins. If he goes out there and do his thing the chances are good.

Murray has too much game for Robin, IF he plays well that is...

Andy in 2 tight sets.

Soderling hopefully, but Murray will probably push his way to win in 3.

Murray has too much game for Robin, IF he plays well that is...It's the other way around. Murray probably will be his normal pusher self, but Soderling has enough power to outhit him. Sod just needs to keep his UE count low, and then he's got this in the bag.

No, like I said, Murray's game is better. You make it sound like Murray will play average by his standards, and Robin will raise his level - IF that happens, I agree that Robin will win.

But when they play better than their standards, Murray frequently counterattacks and also serves better, while Robin hits fewer unnecessary UEs. More likely that the former will happen. If both play a good match, it's quite even between them, but the chances are higher that Robin's level will drop to ordinary or bad during the course of the match.

will be smth like 63 62 for Robin

Soderling was ultra defensive against Korolev,Lalo and Tsonga....and as someone said...when Soderling plays defensive tennis against you and just pushing the ball back cos he knows the errors will come... there is sometning very wrong with you

Murray in 2 or 3 easy sets

He was definitely defensive against Koro who was a clown. But I thought he really dominated Lalo and Tsonga. Heavy hitting, massive serving, controlled aggression.

This will be a tough matchup because unlike the ones above, Muzza has much better movement and defensive skills. But I wouldn't be surprised either if he beat Muzza and then Roddick next round. He seems to be finding some good form now.

Muzza has looked pretty shit this tournament.

only watched with Zhenya and Tsonga

he was semi agressive but its controlled agression like you said...and its not in his blood to be controlled
Murray wasnt tested yet but this colud only hurt him in this match

Couldn't care less. Should go to 3 sets, though. Murray the likely winner.

To be truthful, and as much as I can't stand his court presence, I pick Soderling to upset Murray. I think he's got enough game to frustrate Murray and knock him off his high horse. Honestly, Murray hasn't impressed me with his game at all. It doesn't even look intimidating. It's just plain BORING to me. Anyway, I think this one goes 3, and Soderling wins it.

Let this be the LAST time I root for Robin Soderling!!

Surprised to see Sod's has more votes for the win. Especially considering its not the fastest of hard courts, although Murray has admittedly been terrible in this tournament and has yet to face opposition that can take advantage of that. I'll go for Muzza.. something like 7-6, 7-5. Will be tight as hell.

Either way whoever wins people will say "expected", which never really made sense to me.

Murray will frustrate Soderling.

Söderling has had three very good wins already this week. It may well become a fourth, as Murray hasn't impressed in any other way than winning ugly, but the basic conditions here clearly favour the Scot. Söderling, however, has the tools to really make Murray's forehand pay.

Either way, what I've seen from Robin this week bodes well for the future. It's been very contained and calm throghout, just like it was during DC, where he delivered without getting into any real groove.

I have to go with Murray in 3 tight sets. Sod will need to play very well to pull the upset but Murray has been very tame so far this tournament so if he carries on like it then Sod has a good chance to nick this. But still im going with Murray in 3

We can only hope that Soderling wins. And he will if he can keep it together...but as we all know, this is no easy task for the current crop of "top players".

after all murray is a better player, and in solid form. I pick him in 3 sets.

Murray if he plays smart, cause he is better.

Soderling is a dumb player, i can see him being lulled into the net and consistently passed. Something like 7-5, 6-2 to Murray.
