Mugs match.

They should both be playing Futures.

Gasquet reaches a new low, this time at least didn't lose a tight match.

I've seen him lose to bigger mugs but never seen him play that badly. Everything was wrong tonight.

This match was only watchable for hard-core fans of both players. But Gilles got better and better the longer it lasted, while Richard was :help:. Get out of this place, Rich, it does not do you any good.

I'm shocked that Simon is playing challengers. I haven't been following the game closely, but what happened to him?

Coming back after injury, Simon is short of match practice. He lost early in Indian Wells, so took up his place at Sunrise. That doesn't mean he is going to make a habit of playing challengers!

I think they both should start over again from satellite tournaments. Actually that's where GIlle Simon truly belongs.

I haven't seen the match, but sincerely, when I saw the result, I just thought that Gasquet had lost on purpose :

his scheduling has been awful recently, I thought he wanted to go away from that stupid schedule.

Plus the fact of playing against his friend Simon, who, as for him, needs to play matches.

OF course I haven't seen the match but if I was a Gasquet's fan, I would be happy about him losing yesterday as his scheduling is so awful that he awfully needed losing.

I don't understand Gasquet's fans who desperately wanted him not to take part in Davis Cup  and yet wanted him to win in Sunrise :cuckoo:

Miami is far more important.

Ugh, the season actually looked reasonably promising for Gasquet before the commencement of the AO...since, absolutely horrible. Will be lucky to finish top 50 at this rate.

Nice that Simon gets his first win of 2010 though. :)

how is it Bs..gasquet is playing like shit at the moment. The coke thing was a year ago. He should at least be winning 1st round challenger matches against a player who has just come back from injury. gasquet just isnt fit enough and gets tired after 6 games. you might not notice that from a tv screen but watch him live and u will see;).. he needs to seek out gil reyes like verdasco did and the results will follow

just look at how rankings are made within a year : it does not depend on one month and El Burro should really know it

Moreover, I maintain that this match wasn't important at all for Gasquet (more for Simon), people who have seen him say that he hasn't attacked at all even when the court was opened, he just played the ball on a calm pace, and I don't understand that people comment so much about that (even saying that Gasquet is a better match-up than Dabul for Simon whereas Gasquet has beaten Simon 4 times before :haha: ).

Have you looked at his stupid schedule for recent and coming months (after a back injury) ? and in this stupid schedule, he hadn't even thought he would have to come for Davis Cup and practise a lot on a new surface as he did.

Only one loss against Greul (who beats Monfils afterwards) and an unsignificant loss in a useless challenger, and you can plan the ranking for the whole year :cuckoo:

El Burro knows that this supposedly shitty Gasquet from last 3 months is number 44 in the race so far (just behind Kohlschreiber, Wawrinka, Stepanek and Tipsarevic, better than Blake and Robredo, far better than Nalbandian, does anyone worry about them not being top-50 in the end of the year ?), and he's had his best results for long on grass and indoors, where he hasn't played yet.

I mean in my opinion, Gasquet is not a top-player, not even potentially, but he belongs to the top-50 and can even reach the top-20, the season is very long and like for many other players, we cannot say much more than that.

Even last year with months without practise and huge worries because of antidoping procedures, he finished the year number 52

The comments on this forum are laughable, but well, I just shouldn't comment them  , just that sometimes I'm in a bad mood, fed-up about stupid people, and I can't let say such stupidities

And after that I comment my comments (which a "normal person" would just have guessed anyway), which is even more stupid :o

Gasquet might win something during his career: the unofficial title of the player whose level got worse the most from 18-19 to 23.

Happened to the world number 2 twice in 2008, a year when he won one slam and was finalist in two others. Fed has never beaten Simon ;) (and he has won only one match since january, just like Gasquet, to answer that stupid comment which had been made earlier  ).

Also happened to the world number 1, double slam-winner, that same year ;)
