Novak should go and prepare for clay season.
With this benign serve he should not bother showing up in Miami.
He has zero confidence against a good server. He almost lost on clay against Isner, ffs.
Congrats to Ljuba, he's like a good wine recently.

His serve got minutely better as the match went on but it didn't matter. Credit to Ljubicic, there were some ideal choking opportunities for him to take but he didn't. :yeah:

Nole always plays down to competition nowadays , he needs to become serious seriously if he wants to become a great player. No more "nice guy" . His form is so oscillating . I am tired of watching him lose like this. He hasn't won any big tournaments except one in Paris and even that was too hard.

Well, now that Nadal knocked out Isner, the bottom half is all his. He's pretty much already in the final as far as I'm concerned. If Djokovic didn't spend so much time being a drama queen, trying to entertain people, he would've won this match. Ljubicic played well and he earned himself the victory. :hatoff:

Djokovic is only getting worse. He should stay around top 5 with his MM wins, but expect results like this everytime he runs into a good player who doesn't have the choke of the century.

scoobs
03-18-2010, 12:34 AM
He was due a defeat, playing as consistently scrappily as he has been.

He'll be well rested for Miami but will that mean he's in any better shape in terms of his play?

Agreed!!!!! He was due for a loss and overdue for some rest!!!!! Well deserved Ljubo!!!! Now on to Pico!!!! The guy has some nice strokes, but no brains and cannot defend big serves!!!!!! Ljubo is in a great position!!!!!! Moving on!!!!! I have faith Ljuba truba will make it happen!!!!

A well-deserved victory, and not much of a surprise. It was high time that Djokovic' luck would run out.

Djoko has some thinking to do... WTF is that serve??? At times I had to double-check if I weren't watching a WTA-match when he was serving.

Start da Game
03-18-2010, 07:43 AM
all this is a combined effect of physical issues and subsequent loss of confidence in his body dynamics........people don't believe when i say djokovic is struggling with stamina issues but that is exactly the case with him........all this loss in form and loss in confidence is primarily due to his poor physical levels........

i don't know if he played all the matches of this tournament in the day session, but generally he hates playing under sun and when humidity levels are high.......he is prone to rapid exhaustion.......just the opposite to nadal who gets better and better with temperatures rising.......

whenever djokovic won big things, conditions were in his favor.......be it his latest masters victory or his australian open victory or some other title........at the most he can take two matches under the sun in one tournament, not more than that.......

djokovic at 70% would blow these clowns........it's all just unfortunate, he is such a talent but is not physically strong and that is not in his hands........

El Legenda
03-18-2010, 08:18 AM
First of all Djokovic played bad/didnt get into the match..but thats partly because of the way Ivan played...I mean Djoko was fresh in Dubai when Ivan as 1 pt away from having a set and break lead late in the 2nd set. Biggest difference for Ivan is that he isnt spinning the FH anymore...he was killing it and he missed a few but thats okay, because he would spin it and hope the other guy makes a mistake, this tourament he has been much more aggressive with the FH which has lead to some easy BH shots for him. Lets hope he can keep this up for Monaco..who could be tricky if Ivan decides to start spinning the FH and Monaco has a day that he cant miss if he tried.
