:worship: Dabul playing some good tennis, very solid performance from the left handed. Simon looked frustrated and a bit passive on the big moments.

Dabul makes R3! Cant say Simon lost it, more than Dabul won it with aggresive tennis and smart point building. Though Simon seemed a bit lost at times on court.

Simon never broke Dabul during the match, though Brian saved a 0-40 serving *6-5 on the first set.

Congrats Brian!!!!!!

Gilles was useless. Sorry but he was. He hasn't won a set yet this year. :(

Heh, Dabul and his huge serve didn't get broken in the whole match. Seriously though, good effort from Dabul and a nice win.

yeah there was nothing there from simon gamewise. he was just standing on court and being passive.

 simon got beat by a player who has based his service action on kimiko date krumm lol

simon was crap, had no idea whether to attack or rally, as he made errors when he forced it and got pushed around when he rallied. he is making all sort of horrible shot choices to. very frustrating performance.

Simon never attacks anyway.

Great result for tennis. 'Gillou' belongs in the same ranking zone as Somdev Devvarman.

He comes back from a long injury, though.

this is one of these moments on which I'm very thankful I never bet on frenchies :o

Simon has been atrocious this year, I know he's coming from an injury but he's been really really bad

Dabul was #1 junior, about fucking time showing his potential.

This wasn't an upset. Title requires correction.

Whoever still bets on Frenchies to win a match, hasn't been watching tennis in the past six months or so. :p

Gilles has so many haters. All this "good for the game" is just pathetically ridiculous. Any player who doesn't have a hhuge strokes, huge groundies etc. is classed as a pusher round here, it's terrible. I can't wait until he does get his form and confidence back and starts playing great tennis again. Many posts will be bumped.

He just came back too soon. He'll get there, he just needs more time.
Simon never attacks anyway.

Great result for tennis. 'Gillou' belongs in the same ranking zone as Somdev Devvarman.
One of the biggest myths of this forum. But if it helps you sleep better at night...

He just came back too soon. He's not ready to play top class tennis and needed to spend more time on the practice court.

Simon is actually a brilliant hardcourt player when in good form. This is a shame. He is usually much more aggressive in his movement and shot selection.

I hope he can recover from the injury and make a comeback to the Top 15 one day, if not Top 10.

It's also incorrect. But Gilles' game relies on subtleties, so most posters here don't recognize his skill. And when he's playing badly, as he has been for a while, it's easy to think he's just terrible.
