What to say when a girl says she "misses you"

I've been struggling with this recently.

3 times in as many months, a girl has told me that she misses me. And in all 3 cases, I didn't really miss the girl back, so I couldn't tell them that, ya feel me?

Instead, I told the first girl I kinda sorta missed her too, but that she probably missed me more than I missed her. Backfire! Then she went on this rant about how she was over me blah blah blah.

The second girl, I told her straight up that I wasn't gonna answer whether or not I missed her back because it was a trick female question, and she got pissed off too.

The third girl, when she told me she missed me, I just said "Awwwww!".

In all 3 cases, I didn't know what to say, and what I did end up saying was , but true

So the question to the guys is, what do you say to a girl that says she misses you?

And to the ladies, what do you expect a guy to say when you say you miss him?

Come on Snoo, help me out here.

Think about the last time you said to a guy "I miss you", what were you really saying?

if it's a just-a-friend-friend it means "gosh i haven't seen you for so long! i forgot how much fun it is to hang out with you! let's hang out more often! :yeah:"

if it's like, a :aplot:-friend it means "i wish you would spend more time with me/pay more attention to me/call me more :awww:"

if she's whining or pulling a pouty face when she says it, it means the second thing

Be honest, if she over reacts it's a sign to move on.
Just don't think you can try and fuck her ever again.

This whole thing seems more like..."How do i string a girl along to get what i want but not piss her off."

The whole gamesmanship of relationships that both sides play is disgusting it is old, moldy & tired.

Do what you feel.

The question is why you didnt missed the girl? Thats probably because you don´t like them enough to get serious with her. So say- Yeah I mssed you too babe if you want to gam her again or just say- Myself. Not really- if you think you can discard her. The moment you feel you are missing a girl, is the moment you finally might be liking someone for real.

Weird question Jonathan...

If someone tells you they miss you and you don't correspond, obviously they're going to feel disappointed.

or

"If I missed you too we would sex more often"

The 1st step would be to not litter out beloved forum with your manipulative and self-pushing threads about women.

This helps. Thanks for the clear explanation, Snoo.

And yes, Roger's hair is pretty much perfect.

Not really :awww:

You make it seem like I'm some sort of hound dog that just goes around and has his fun and doesn't give a shit, I've got feelings too  :awww:

I dunno. I guess I think that when a girl says she misses me, she's just testing me to see how I feel about her. Whether she really misses me or not is irrelevant.

I agree with the gamesmanship bullshit, but you have to admit women do their fair share of it too.

The question is why you didnt missed the girl? Thats probably because you don´t like them enough to get serious with her.

I guess I'm just a heartbreaker. Not that I enjoy it. :awww:

Liking someone for real and not just in it for the gam?

To be honest, I don't think I've legitly "missed" a girl, at least in the way the girls do I. I love women, but I just don't get attached

Weird question Jonathan...

Yeah, that's true.

Kindly fuck off, good sir. Go back to GM.

I don't get all this subtext stuff. If I say I miss someone it just means I miss them??

If you believe everything that is said to you has some hidden meaning you'd just go mad.

:haha: YES, and thanks for reminding us of the things that are really important in life!

To answer the question - What to say when a girl says she "misses you":

It depends on what YOU feel. If you don't miss her, but she's a friend you don't want to lose? "Awwww" is good enough. Even if you don't miss her specifically, a response like "Yeah, we had fun over the summer" should work fine, or reminiscing about some time that you hung out and enjoyed yourself.

If you don't miss her and you don't want to talk to her, well then, say nothing or tell the truth (tactfully). You could even tell the truth and say "I don't know what to say."

If you miss her, well then you know what to say.

Like partygirl said, it's not like there's a formula, you just go with how you feel in that moment about what she's said and whether or not you care about her (as a friend or more).

I thought you were controlling the chronic, now that you're playing tennis. This post concerns me. Go play more tennis and send over more videos! :p

I've been struggling with this recently.

That would be my first question- how/why is this a struggle?

3 times in as many months, a girl has told me that she misses me. And in all 3 cases, I didn't really miss the girl back, so I couldn't tell them that, ya feel me?

No, I don't feel ya homie. If you don't miss someone, don't respond. You're not under any obligation to take care of another person's emotional needs.

Instead, I told the first girl I kinda sorta missed her too, but that she probably missed me more than I missed her. Backfire! Then she went on this rant about how she was over me blah blah blah.

You are habitually attracted to wack-a-doos. This above nonsense is no shocker. Pick a nice girl next time, just for kicks.

The second girl, I told her straight up that I wasn't gonna answer whether or not I missed her back because it was a trick female question, and she got pissed off too.

Any girl who asks you a question only to put you on blast afterward is a dick. Don't talk to this one again without some immediate, on the spot payoff.

The third girl, when she told me she missed me, I just said "Awwwww!".

Dead giveaway that you're not that interested, but still not your problem.

So the question to the guys is, what do you say to a girl that says she misses you?

This is of little consequences, as long as you don't lie to her. Lies cause more bullshit.

"I miss you."

"K, thanks."

Nothing in it, really.

And to the ladies, what do you expect a guy to say when you say you miss him?

This doesn't apply to me, so I can't help.

There is only one correct answer:

I missed you too.

That is the only answer she is looking for and you have to tell her what she wants to hear if you like her. Tough luck bro. I hate when girls do that but they want to know that you think of them and all that stuff and by not saying I missed you too then you are almost rejecting them.

depends on my end goal. If I want her, I missed you too, gotta play that straight up. If I want to keep her on the dangle course you do, I'm very missable. Nothing a chick who wants you hates more than not getting the answer she wants so make her work for it. And if i dont care then its do I know you?

I think its just due to me getting played a few times in high school and I try to find some hidden meaning in some things that are just straight up. Something to work on, for sure.

For every strange habit someone has in regards to relationships, there is a crazy ex behind it.

Absolutely, goes both freaking ways.

We are both probably victims of the types we have encountered...

Yep, we're very similar, you and me, in more ways than I originally thought ;)

:haha: YES, and thanks for reminding us of the things that are really important in life!

I told Mary Jane I had to break up with her. But she is like the crazy, sex obsessed ex that I know I need to leave alone but just can't seem to.

I've been cheating on her for Tennis :p

That would be my first question- how/why is this a struggle?

Cause it happens all the time and I dunno what to do about it. To be honest, I wasn't really feelin' any of these girls in terms of sex, but at the same time, didn't want to hurt them and keep the friendship going.

It's hard out here for a......guy that knows lots of girls :p

No, I don't feel ya homie. If you don't miss someone, don't respond. You're not under any obligation to take care of another person's emotional needs.

I hadn't considered that option.

You are habitually attracted to wack-a-doos. This above nonsense is no shocker. Pick a nice girl next time, just for kicks.

A nice girl? Do I have to? :p

Any girl who asks you a question only to put you on blast afterward is a dick. Don't talk to this one again without some immediate, on the spot payoff.

Will do.

Dead giveaway that you're not that interested, but still not your problem.

I'm beginning to favor the awwwww response, it gives me some leeway either way.

This is of little consequences, as long as you don't lie to her. Lies cause more bullshit.

"I miss you."

"K, thanks."

Nothing in it, really.

So you're telling me I just need to get used to breaking hearts :p

There is only one correct answer:

I missed you too.

That is the only answer she is looking for and you have to tell her what she wants to hear if you like her. Tough luck bro. I hate when girls do that but they want to know that you think of them and all that stuff and by not saying I missed you too then you are almost rejecting them.

I think the problem was that all 3 of the girls I referenced in the opening post, I only had marginal attraction for and they liked me much more than I them

If one of the girls I REALLY liked told me she missed me, that's basically my green light to go in, and go hard.

depends on my end goal. If I want her, I missed you too, gotta play that straight up. If I want to keep her on the dangle course you do, I'm very missable. Nothing a chick who wants you hates more than not getting the answer she wants so make her work for it. And if i dont care then its do I know you?

I'm very missable is a fucking awesome response, thanks dude :yeah:

"let's have sex"

That works too

If an ex says it to you, best advice I can give is ignore it and get the fuck out of there as soon as you can.

Even if she's drop dead gorgeous and all I wanna do is get in and get out? :awww:

Not that that is my M.O., I'm more of a romantic, but for reference :p

it might be all you want but unless it's all she wants then you're gonna get a lot more than that. opening yourself up to a world of hassle I reckon but you have to judge each case on its merits. I just have bad experiences with that particular phrase. but yeah, got to judge each case on its merits.
