Indian Wells Q2: (19) Ramon Delgado (PAR) def. (4) Daniel Brands (GER) 6-3 6-4

This is the same guy who beat (#1) Pete Sampras in straight sets at the French Open 2R some 12 years ago, and (#9) Sebastian Grosjean in 5 sets at the US Open 2003.

This win should see him back to his highest ranking since mid-2007. He fell well outside the top 400 in mid-2009 (due to injuries), now already he is playing top 100 level-tennis again. Good win today!

Hopefully he gets a good draw here to regain his top 55 ranking...he is a great legend of Paraguayan tennis :bounce:

Daniel Brands.

Good work Delgado, always nice to see players regaining form after long lay offs with injuries.

Awesome stuff from Ramon, just fantastic. Seems his win in Asuncion last year really rejuvenated him. Keep it up Ramon :D

Great stuff Ramon, keeping the good form.

Nice game to watch, so regular at times.

Wow he is still playing

Remember him against Mantilla in 1998 RG.

Brands does that occasionally, just constantly hits the ball long on the bps, racks up huge horrible numbers.

Ramón :hearts:
I used to believe he could grab a bunch of ATP titles :(
I guess he's suffered too many injuries, but I hope his tennis is as beautiful as it used to be :hearts:

Ramon keeping anti-tennis Brands out of the main draw.
