Lopez had some of the worst body language I've seen. You could tell he came into the match with zero confidence.

Well he was clearly hurt and his movement hampered... going into a match with Lleyton you kinda need both your legs working 100% just to have a shot, so if you have a hurt ankle how confident could one be?

He was definately not having good body language, he was like already giving up in the first set! he was so down on himself. At least he got to experience a night match in Aurther Ashe stadium though, that was maybe a highlight for him. It bothered me though that on his last break point it was actually in and they called it out, I know it most likely wouldn't have made a difference, but it would have made him happy.

If he was hurt, then of course he'll be below par, but that's all the more reason to not let your opponent know you're hurting with bad body language. You end up handing your opponent a psychological advantage along with the physical one. And the crowd was clearly in his corner as the underdog. He didn't seem to know how to work that to his advantage. Of course, Lleyton is the kind of ornery bulldog who appears to like it when the crowd is against him, so maybe the crowd support wasn't too helpful to Lopez after all.

oh I totally agree with you. Johnny Mac wouldn't shut up about all these things - his poor strategy, his lack of using the crowd which was REALLY going for him, his body language, his sheer lack of effort in the first set, etc. No player should ever do it, but probably not to Hewitt especially. he has this tendency to throw it in your face lol. Too bad for Feli, hopefully if he gets another chance at Ashe at night live on tv he can make a better impression from it.

yah I have seen feli play live and I KNOW what potential he has, and what he is capable of, so for alot of the crowd that saw him for the first time tonight they didn't get a good impression. And it seems he didn't even realize how much the crowd was for him, he was just in his own zone. Eg, Bhagdatis really played it up against Fed.

Exactly, it was as if Hewitt already knew he won the battle, once he saw Feli acting like that.
