No true republican would pick those two out of past presidents as his heroes. If there's any truth to the heroes comment, he must have been asked this question and those two must be the only ones he could think of. Still, I'm glad he avoided Nixon and W. :rolleyes:
also this is off-topic.

I don't know about that. I know Republicans whose hero is Ronald Reagan.

I'm wondering what qualifications Taylor has to run for political office, though.

oh well, whoever floats their boat, who am I to know... I'm sure Dent has more qualifications than the Governator. He was born there to begin with.

:lol: I hesitate to take part in elections because I'm disinclined to vote for anyone who actually wants to be a politician.

Qualifications have almost nothing to do with running for office or winning lately. It's about how good you look on TV and your ability to sell. If it was about qualifications, we'd all be hating on President Bill Richardson or President John McCain right now... right?

Yes, but politicians tend to have some education, if not experience. Taylor doesn't have any formal higher education or experience. Or at least not yet--in the article I read, he said he might like to go to college one day.

On the other hand, if it's just about how good you look on TV, I think Taylor is in trouble. :p

:lol::haha:

I read a Sports Illustrated article on this a while back where they looked at the major sports and how they leaned politically.

- Basketball players are overwhelmingly Democratic.
- Football players lean Democratic
- Baseball players lean Republican

As for American tennis players, I'm pretty sure that Roddick is a Republican, know for a fact that Isner is one, and apparently Dent too. Blake and the Williamses are Democratic. I'm not sure about Querrey, he was born in my native SF which is very Democratic but he grew up suburban Southern California which generally leans Republican. Fish I think is a Democrat, since I think I read somewhere that he was supporting Clinton in 08, but I could be wrong.

Also, Agassi is a big Democrat. A couple of years ago I believe he was approached about running for Congress in Nevada but said no.

It was an article on ESPN, so he probably really did say it. If he was ever serious about it, he'd have to pick a state first. I believe he and his wife split their time between California and Florida.
