I'll make myself perfectly clear: I LOVE THE WILDCARD CHOICES.

03-18-2010, 09:57 AM
How can you love the wild cards, im sick of this. Every tournament that is 250, 500 or 1000 thats not in Australia all the wildcards go to locals from that country, but with all of the American tournaments this year they've been sharing the wildcards like here, how can you give one to Moya, Ancic, Nalbandian and Nishikori, give them qualifying wildcards not maindraw, espically Nishikori, Nalbandian and Ancic, they all are coming from injury without using PR, so make them work in qualies before the maindraw. But Ancic was great at Indian Wells, so maybe let him off with a maindraw wildcard but not the others guys, also Moya is one of the greatest players of all time but his past his time, he needs to retire and let the younger guys through.

Ryan Harrison is the only player that deserves a wildcard he has played some great tennis over the last six months or year, why dont they give wildcards to juniors like Kubler, Mitchell, Fernandes, Berta, Frank or the other top junior from Taiwan, think about that. Also good luck to Luczak and Ball this tournament.

Are Nishikori and Moya fit to play? If so, fine WCs.

03-19-2010, 11:00 AM
What's about Almagro?

Ad Wim
03-19-2010, 11:04 AM
I guess Lorenzi won't play as he is in Europe playing clay challengers.

I guess Lorenzi won't play as he is in Europe playing clay challengers.

Lorenzi lost today in Italy, perhaps due to going to Miami)

03-19-2010, 08:00 PM
Someone knows what happened with Del Potro?

That is possible, but Miami is not until a few days. But I saw he is going to Colombia afterwards, so maybe he is indeed going to Miami. But he is also on the entry list of Napoli in between

Someone knows what happened with Del Potro?
Still struggling with the wristinjury, I guess...

03-19-2010, 08:34 PM
OK, I read something about Delpo is not ready to play yet

03-20-2010, 03:34 PM
So strange that they didn't give it to Gulbis.

03-20-2010, 03:56 PM

03-20-2010, 04:55 PM

03-21-2010, 04:05 AM

Lapentti and Daniel lucky losers

I wish they'd update the draw in the ATP challenge. I only found out those two were out when I went to check where they placed the qualifiers in the main draw.

Is this tournament equal to IW regarding the ranking points? Could anybody explain me the contradiction between data from different sources regarding the points for qualifyers of Miami and IW who lost in the 2nd round of MD?
If we look at or page 1 in this thread we see the following:
R64: 25 (Seeds: 10)
R128: 10 (WC: 0)
Q: +12
Q24: 7
Q48: 0
Above scheme is from the official ATP Code (
It means for me that the losers of 2nd round of MD should receive 12+25=37 points. Right?
However, if we look at IW page on ATP site (Points&Prize Money) we see

R64 25 11,500
R96 10 7,050
Q 16
Q3 0 0
Q2 8 2,100
Q1 0 1,075
According to this scheme we have 16+25=41 points for above mentioned loser of the 2nd round.
If we take as typical representative of such losers, for example, Rainer Schuettler in IW, and look at his page we see he received 41 points!
Why so? Thanks in advance for explanation )

Thank you for your attention. I've received an answer from SteveG (

Re: points for Masters

From: "steve"

Hi Jacques,

Yes, this is odd. Perhaps recently, they changed it from 12 points to

16 and did not update the rule book. Sometimes they tweak it along the

way and it causes confusion. I have asked the ATP and am awaiting a

The rule is this:
