They can get cheap health insurrance better oportunities for better life, solid job, retirement at age 65 in australia. For poor people canada and australia are much better countries for life.

You are poor if you earn 2000$ per month in the states but it doesn't mean you don't have money for bread.
They can be good workers, very usefull. They would rather accept poor americans than poor indians or chineses.

Who doesn't want to ride in Kangaroo's pouch to work everyday?

Be more precise when you say Americans. After all, we're talking about many countries here.

The thing is we don't really take poor unskilled inexperienced people in that much... And yet, when skilled and experienced workers do get here, we do not recognize their qualification, so we end up with many university educated taxi drivers...

If it were up to me, I'd let you two in.

You are poor if you earn 2000$ per month in the states but it doesn't mean you don't have money for bread.
They can be good workers, very usefull. They would rather accept poor americans than poor indians or chineses. You're saying Canada and Australia are racist?

Why should my country or any other country let in people just because they're poor in their own country? That doesn't make sense. Think of the influx of people from around the world into the US, Canada, Australia and many other countries if this were the case.

Are you a political Refugee? A skiller worker? an entrpreneur, an investor, you are a Canadian citizen and want to sponsor your family? Then you might be considered for immigration to Canada.

PS Poverty alone is not considered for immigration.

if poverty alone meant direct access to any sort of visa... my mother's family would be able to see her... AFTER 20+ YEARS!

but poverty is actually a big deterrent to giving out visas.

It's bad enough that I'm going back to Canada so that I can be poor. The last thing we need are noncitizens doing it.
