I should be working. ;) Life's OK, spring is coming, I've learned that the positive attitude helps. ;)
And how are you doing?

Btw Djoker has the same managers than Safin and they 'push' him in Russia too I've heard, they're efficient in this regard.

Yes this demand to retire is a bit hypocritical but on the other hand it wasn't a one-time slip-up.

The liaisons between Spitzer, identified at "Client 9," and a number of different prostitutes occurred around the country, including in Washington, D.C., and Florida, the sources said. For each encounter, Spitzer paid several thousand dollars, the sources said; The Associated Press cited a source that said the total could be as high as $80,000.

I liked the reports on the money issue.

The thing making that sort of "scandal" newsworthy was obviously the fact that this governor was such a crussador for "higher morals" which makes this story funny for the outsiders (even though I also feel sorry for his family).

If not, he could have given a Mitterand reply. When the press found out that he had a daughter from an extra-marital affair, his simple reaction was: "Et alors?"
I was/am not a big Mitterand fan but that reply was brilliant.

It would never be so simple in the US. Can you imagine a president of ours having a relationship as the French president??

The problem with the Governor is that he ran his whole campaign on being someone who showed no mercy for those who did anything immoral. He made a lot of enemies to the point that no one came to his defense.

If a person is going to put himself on such a pinnacle, then the least he could do is not involve himself in such crap......He did this to himself. If he were a governor that didn't paint himself in such a light, he probably could have skated through this mess.

Maybe people in other states don't "get" the full impact of Elliot Spitzer and his finger wagging. I don't like the idea of an "unknown source" blowing the whistle on him, but at the same time the way he acted when he was Attorney General makes this doubly absurd.

I'm writing my Dad's biography. He is being honored in July and for the life of me, I can't seem to get pass the first paragraph. Since it's a bunch of academics, I'm sure anything I write will be ripped apart and critiqued.

I always struggle to write on persons I love   much easier to write on people you despise it seems...

If I were having that discussion, I would counter with - "I don't think he hit that many sliced b/h against Nalby" and add either a  or  smilie! He'll love that.

Linda and Claire, I am scared when you two are bored:lol: Good job on the stupidest posts. I could help but I am too lazy to search:(.
Hema you know Linda and I are little angels
I was in Boulder with my brother wearing Indian clothes. Three guys came and said hello. It was usual to be greeted like that so I smiled and said hello. Then one of the guys said: Go back to your country you f***ing Indian s***. It was like a slap on the face. Scary.

Nothing in the world is as stupid as a racist
The thing making that sort of "scandal" newsworthy was obviously the fact that this governor was such a crussador for "higher morals" which makes this story funny for the outsiders (even though I also feel sorry for his family).

If not, he could have given a Mitterand reply. When the press found out that he had a daughter from an extra-marital affair, his simple reaction was: "Et alors?"
I was/am not a big Mitterand fan but that reply was brilliant.
Miterrand was one of the most talented politician we ever have (by that I mean, he was extremly talented at deceit, manipulation, spinning, one liners and had a great political sense) but he was also one of the biggest scumbag we ever had
Most men aren't one-woman men, politicians are no different
No politicians are worse because all the power they have give them a feeling of impunity
That wouldn't cut it in the US or even other European countries. The French are unique in the way they treat the personal life of polititians I think.
Think of it this way : every taboo the americans can have about sex, we have them about money

Our king has a daughter from an extramarital affair. He had to go on tv to talk about it when somebody wrote about it in a book. Belgians accepted it and moved on. It was never a big deal here. It's his private life.
It's pretty much the same here, people don't care about their private lives

I'm writing my Dad's biography. He is being honored in July and for the life of me, I can't seem to get pass the first paragraph. Since it's a bunch of academics, I'm sure anything I write will be ripped apart and critiqued.

It is impossible to keep up with this thread

It's funny and pathetic at the same time. All of this humiliation for one hour of pleasure:rolleyes: I also feel sorry for his wife and kids. But, I don't know if this should be grounds for retirement:shrug: Let his wife deal with him:lol:

The issue is that he is a governor and he broke the law, now matter how stupid this law is. I hear that he personally persecuted similar cases in the past, if true it adds a cherry of hypocricy to the case.

It is amazing how we seem not able to learn that laws cannot suppress human nature. Prostitution is repugnant but once you outlaw it you end up with "escort services" "clubs" "massage services" and so on. At least if it was legal the profit margins for the pimps would go way down.

That's surprising. He should become Greek; everyone would worship him like Baghdatis in Cyprus or Massu and Gonzalez in Chile. Maybe I'd root for him then :p .

Roger would have his statue already, no doubt about it.

Amazing how he could be so naive, actually given how he pissed off Wall Street I am surprised that it is the Feds that broke the story, I could imagine any number of pissed off people investigating his actions in private.

I said I don't want to see certain things on television. I believe in being a conservative in public and a freak in the bedroom:angel::angel:

:angel::aplot:

I have a feeling he's becoming by biggest fan :yeah:

No, I'm not a writer......can't you tell from my posts:lol:  But, I was asked and I think it's something nice to do for my dad. Yes he grew up in the Caribbean. Because of my parents' respective childhoods, they went out of their way to give my sister and me every opportunity they didn't have as children. Some would say that they spoiled their kids.......and they did. Heck, I would never do, for my kids, half the stuff my parents did for my sister and me:lol:   We were spoiled!!

It doesn't sound farfetched at all, then it would make sense to leave the glory to the feds. Still, susprising that Spitzer did not realize all his activities would be monitored by his "friends"

Congrats, very impressive :hatoff: I am sure you must be pround of him :D

That's what I don't understand about Spitzer. Common sense thinking......If you're going after powerful people, don't put skeletons in the closet.

Thanks:hug:

I have been lurking on MTF since August 2006. I only got an account when I decided to start posting:) It was difficult at first because I was used to the style of MTF but people considered me a newbie. Ezekiel accused me of being a double account once:)

Admittedly, I honestly thought you were a double account of a certain poster:tape:

It crossed my mind as I was just reading Faren's whining in GM that Djokotards haven't really taken any heat for Djerkovic as yet.....especially when reflecting on the clay season 06 when there was outright war between the Fedtards and Rafatards:lol:

Those were the days :awww:

The next time Nole loses it will still be the place I go to laugh. Hopefully he will schedule his next loss when I don't need to leave for the weekend 1 hour after the match finishes :(

Hopefully all his losses will be before the weekend starts! ;)

Nice to have Francy back! :hearts:

I cannot imagine why you thought otherwise

1. Does Rogiman still post in Fed's forum?
I sense a fractious community in Fedtard Land. Many of the usual Fedtards no longer post there. I think Mello Yellow may have scared them all off.

Claycourt season 2006 was a horrible time at GM, almost every thread would be derailed to a Rafatard-Fedtard war. Sometimes, I wondered how Nadal and Federer could get into a thread discussing, say, Almagro vs. Acasuso in Rome, yet they did.

I recently looked back at the thread about uncle Toni saying that Nadal was concerned about Nalbandian challenging him, during the 2006 RG. Amazing how Deivid inflamed GM, that had nothing at all to do with Roger.

If Nadal were to continue his Clay dominance into another season, I might hop on that particular train of thought myself :hatoff:

Fortunately Djoko will rule clay this year, and so I will be saved the stresses of battling GWH.

Ummmm.....I'm in advertising and Marketing:ras: I've got to run now, but I'll be back Claire to give you my pitch for marketing:lol:

I don't think Marketing is for everyone. To truly succeed in that world, you've got to be very creative and willing to study/understand people. You can't just create something beautiful, you've got to truly understand your audience and tap into their emotions.........a BIG problem I have with the ATP. I'm of the firm belief that the ATP has hired a bunch of marketing executives that have NOT taken the time to study the tennis audience....they're not tennis fans and they haven't studied tennis fans.
