Unreal effort from the new ATP legend; amazing serve, nice net play and great hair.

Clutch serving in the third set;

Brown 2/2 bp, CHiudinelli 1/12(0/9 in the 3rd set)

Brown won 90% on his 1st serve, 13 Aces

Just amazing, probably 1st win for Jamaica at ATP level

The guy saved 9/9 break points in 3rd set, and he made the break to close the match. Amazing stuff.

2/2 in Bps in the whole match for Brown.

Brown has a really pleasing game to watch when he is playing well. Aggressive and athletic.

Vamos Dreddy Brown.

Great for the game, he has hadn't any financial backing and his big serve helped at the altitude for sure.

The locals will love him there in Joburg and hope he can finish the year in the top 100.

Cmooooon.

Bad play on return most of the time, I'm glad it was enough. Chiudinelli got broken in the first and last game of the match. :yeah: At the end there were 2-3 voices cheering for Brown, but in the first set it was silent, not even clapping most of the time.

This guy's appeareance fits 100% with the common stereotype people have on Jamaicans.

Too bad for the Swiss... 0/9 in break points in the third? That's a tough loss.

Very well done Dustin. :D

Read about his background with interest...as Action Jackson says, he has had no financial backing, and is barely spoken about in Jamaican press/news. Therefore, extremely impressive that he has managed to break into the higher leagues, and I hope that he will be rewarded by an extended spell at this level. Would be interested to see him in some main draw grass events (surely will reach the cut-off at least for Eastbourne and Newport if he can sustain his ranking), so hopefully he will oblige.

The 'easiest' money he has earned in his entire career (for just one match!), and I think that the guaranteed $7,260 just for reaching R2 is more than he has earned even for a week's work at a challenger event. And with the draw he has, it doesn't have to stop there...

So that's why the hair is so good. I knew there had to be more to that much flawlessness. Professional grooming, of course.

Go Dustin. :rocker2:
Imagine a Feli Lopez-Dustin Brown match. :hearts: This matchup needs to happen this year.

He definitely is spoken about in Germany! You make it sound like the poor guy gets no recognition and support, while he rather is overhyped in Germany (where he trains and grew up). There regularly are articles about the "Paradiesvogel" here (for obvious reasons), and I reckon he's better off than a lot of players at the same level. He also gets wild-cards in German events, etc.

Well done to Dustin. I am not surprised at all, as Marco is not really that much better than Dustin Brown.

He should be able to beat that mug Recouderc in the next round.

The Jamaican press hadn't had much to report on until now.
They currently have been reporting his current good form though!
