Gille Simon, what gives?

This is not just about him pulling out of the Austrialian Open but about how he has fallen 8 spots since last year (or 2008?) when he was ranked 8th in the world.

He used to be the top-ranked frog but now even Gasquet and Chardy playing better than him not to mention the three musketeers.

Why is this guy falling so fast? How is a guy who is 2-0 against Roger Federer doing so bad. He has a consistent playing style to pull off at least being in the London End of the Year Finals.

What are the chances of a comeback for Simon.

It is because he doesn't like reading or has been partying too much with Gasquet.

What's your obsession with Simon? A couple of months ago, you were wondering why is he still in top 10, now the opposite, even though he evidently had to pull out of a slam.

he was carrying a knee problem for a good six months of last season, he was playing through it, and it still doesn't seem to be fixed.

He was in Australia playing the exhibition tournament in Adelaide, but had to pull out just after the AO draw was made. It's a shame, I missed him being at the AO this year after seeing him so much last year... but I want his knee to be properly healed before he attempts to comeback again.

I watched him at Cincinnati last year and it was very apparent he had a knee injury. Get well soon.

What do you care?
Apparently, him off the tour to nurse an injury is not enough to keep him off your mind. Get off his back.

And his name is Gilles, if you even care for his career, maybe try to learn his name first.

He was a bit daft to keep playing with the injury seeing as it wasn't getting any better but his MRIs have been good and he's hoping to start training again in around a month or so, all being well.

It only means the mighty Fed who won the most slams in history still didn't manage to beat the lowly Simon in 2 try. Fed won't care, only his fans do but they will tell you it means shit ;).

He still was able to get pass Andreev with that knee issue there I believe.
I watched him play against Ferrero at the US Open.
I don't really think his knee impaired him, it was just Ferrero understanding that this was the type of top 10 player he could beat and taking advantage of it.

You've got to be kidding. He retired because the knee was causing him so much pain.

Um what? By the end of the third set he was just hitting the ball as hard as he possibly could because he couldn't move at all. I think you were watching a different match.
