AO: 4 players left, who wins the title?LocoPorElTenis 01-27-2010, 12:32 PM Vote and discuss. Clydey 01-27-2010, 12:46 PM Federer. As usual. munZe konZa 01-27-2010, 12:47 PM hopefully Murray, it would make up for some things abraxas21 01-27-2010, 12:49 PM It's going to be between Fed and Murray, naturally. The others have little chances, imo. Anything might happen in the final. I think Murray winning a GS is long overdue and for some reason AO has seen a lot of new GS champions over the years. It's a tough call. vincayou 01-27-2010, 12:52 PM I don't see Tsonga or Cilic beating Federer and Murray. One of them might sneak in the final (I'm thinking about Cilic) but I doubt it. Murray is the slight favourite if he doesn't brainfart. LocoPorElTenis 01-27-2010, 12:59 PM For me chances are: Federer - 50% Murray - 40% Tsonga - 6% Cilic - 4% chalkdust 01-27-2010, 01:09 PM Federer 50% Murray 30% Tsonga 15% Cilic 5% nanoman 01-27-2010, 01:13 PM I slightly favor Murray over Fed. He is rock solid. Murray 50% Fed 45% Cilic 4% Tsonga 1% coonster14 01-27-2010, 01:14 PM fed and murray to do battle in the final. not really a murray fan, but if he does play federer in the final and beats fed, then he deserves a lot of credit. (beating rafa and fed BOTH in a slam). tennishero 01-27-2010, 01:15 PM This is Murrays best chance at a slam, he's had an easy route to the final, losing to cilic again would be pathetic. Having said that, I think whoever reaches the final between Tsonga/Federer should win it. HarryMan 01-27-2010, 01:16 PM Federer should win it this time. I don't think, in best of five, the three remaining players have the goods to get the job done against him. tennishero 01-27-2010, 01:16 PM fed and murray to do battle in the final. not really a murray fan, but if he does play federer in the final and beats fed, then he deserves a lot of credit. (beating rafa and fed BOTH in a slam). beating an injured rafa and past his peak federer... federer is the only real challenge he'll face, roddick was out of form, cilic will succumb to the pressure and lose in straights. Aaric 01-27-2010, 01:17 PM Hopefully Roger. gjr 01-27-2010, 01:21 PM This is now Murray's best ever chance. He's the freshest of the 4 and arguably playing the best tennis. It's really weird but this could be his make or break chance for greatness. Win here and he could go on and have a great year and career winning multiple slams. Lose and he'll know one got away. He knows he's playing better than anyone whose left so a loss here is failure for me. MatchFederer 01-27-2010, 01:22 PM Federer. As usual. Really? How's about Murray? Sophocles 01-27-2010, 01:27 PM Final will obviously be Federer & Murray. Could go either way. If Federer goes a set & a half with no first serve and shanking balls off either wing every 2nd point (as he did today), then he's had it: Murray won't let him back in. If on the other hand Federer plays well from the outset and Murray is content with trying to rally him into mistakes, Murray is toast. If Federer plays well and Murray plays with a good balance between attack & defence, it could go either way, but should be bloody good. green25814 01-27-2010, 01:40 PM Fed is the favourite. Murray could be playing the tennis of his life and Fed would still be the favourite. Anyone who says differently is a bandwagoner/fool. abraxas21 01-27-2010, 01:44 PM beating an injured rafa and past his peak federer... federer is the only real challenge he'll face, roddick was out of form, cilic will succumb to the pressure and lose in straights. rafa was not injured! he said he only started to feel a slight pain in the second set and still was able to play good tennis. he said so himself. at the end he retired to avoid some type of serious pain/injury considering that he was being outplayed by murray and had little chances of winning at that point. Also, Murray didn't even beat Roddick! Have you been watching this AO at all? abraxas21 01-27-2010, 01:45 PM Fed is the favourite. Murray could be playing the tennis of his life and Fed would still be the favourite. Anyone who says differently is a bandwagoner/fool. fed being the favourite didn't stop him from losing to pony boy in the us open final, did it? Jaffas85 01-27-2010, 01:53 PM beating an injured rafa and past his peak federer... federer is the only real challenge he'll face, roddick was out of form, cilic will succumb to the pressure and lose in straights. Did you actually watch the Murray/Nadal match? Nadal was playing at a high and very competitive level during the first two sets, his form only dipped once the third set got underway and Nadal stated in his interview that it was around the beginning of the third set that the knee started affecting him. Murray beat him. I think the final will probably be Murray/Federer and I think Murray will win. tennishero 01-27-2010, 02:06 PM rafa was not injured! he said he only started to feel a slight pain in the second set and still was able to play good tennis. he said so himself. at the end he retired to avoid some type of serious pain/injury considering that he was being outplayed by murray and had little chances of winning at that point. Also, Murray didn't even beat Roddick! Have you been watching this AO at all? lol oh right cilic beat roddick, even worst, he played isner instead. Clydey 01-27-2010, 02:10 PM Really? How's about Murray? I'll believe it when I see it. I obviously think he can do it, but he may yet find a way to fuck it up. Argenbrit 01-27-2010, 02:20 PM Too bad one of them has to win. Andresito 01-27-2010, 02:25 PM 1º option Federer. 2º option Murray. If Federer reachs final, he's gonna be the winner. Murray will be the winner if Federer do not reach final. Goldenoldie 01-27-2010, 02:25 PM Federer>>Murray>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Cilic>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tsonga vn01 01-27-2010, 02:25 PM I want Tsonga,or even Murray, but I think Federer will win 16th Grand Slam:( Denaon 01-27-2010, 02:41 PM Given the circumstances...I think Federer will win it. I wish it was Tsonga though...vamos!! thegreendestiny 01-27-2010, 03:22 PM Clownga :bounce: R.Federer 01-27-2010, 03:36 PM Only one guy in this pool has had some practice (x15) in figuring out what it takes to win a slam ... that's a huge X in the X's and O's LinkMage 01-27-2010, 03:43 PM Ugly Scot. Everko 01-27-2010, 03:43 PM I don't like any of these players. Logical 01-27-2010, 03:46 PM Bad tooth wins it and saves tennis until Matador returns for the good of the game. Persimmon 01-27-2010, 04:06 PM R. Federer. dylan24 01-27-2010, 04:09 PM federer. if not him, hopefully cilic. tyruk14 01-27-2010, 04:23 PM Federer is the heavy favourite. If he wants to win this tournament -- if he hungers this title -- then nobody in the game can stop him. He's a proven major player. Many, many times over. But I have a sneaking suspicion that Murray will take this title. | |
