Mario Ancic playing Germany F4 Futures this week!

He got a WC and is now in the MD as the #1 seed.

In R1 he plays another WC, Yannick HANFMANN (#1181; career-high #1166).

Mario better win this. And I don't mean this match, I mean the whole thing.

It's not really 'next week', he plays a doubles match on Monday I think. Anyway, I wish him the best, I want to see him back on court this season. I hope his body can hold up for him.

mario will probably not be playing DC vs. Ecuador. the team is cilic, karlovic and then some combination of dodig, veic and zovko

Mario will need a lot of time to comeback, smart move not to rush things and just take it step by step with the chalenger guys

I've never heard of Ilg or Zelch. Nevertheless, congratulations to Mario on the first match of his latest comeback (congrats also to Lovro).

I know that was the latest news, that's why there's a  We're desperately in need of a good doubles team, though I guess it's not really crucial for first round.

we'll need it in the quarters though. the ideal line-up would have cilic with the most inform of karlovic, ljubicic and ancic in singles and ljubo/mario in doubles

Sadly, Mario lost in R1 of Heilbronn singles to Kukushkin 63 67(5) 62. Oh well, let's chalk it up to lack of match practice and wish him better luck in his next tournament.

He's doing much better in doubles, though. He and Lovro Zovko are through to the final:
R1: def. Ilg/Zelch 76(4) 61
QF: def. Fischer/Peya (#2 seeds) 64 63
SF: def. Navarro/Przysiezny 63 64

Mario won but it was much too close given his opponent's ranking: 76(0) 63.

It`s a humble and smart desicion to play this future as he needs to play as much as possible until he would find his rythm back. It`s only a matter of time. All the best for Mario!

Agree, and they should be joined by Nalbandian, Gaudio, Gambill, Spadea, Schuettler and others.. Futures would be become incredibly popular :worship:

Was it really necessary to post twice, also?

Good decision by Mario, any match win is good for him right now.

Match of the day in this Futures with Olejniczak, like a every game with Croat here it's MoTD.

I'm counting that Olejniczak will be tuff opponent, or maybe make some surprise.

Mario, welcome to the club! :D Getting all the way down to the mug-level of mine.

This is interesting, can't wait to see the results...but if he loses to some No.900 here...it could be nasty for his confidence and everything.
Let's hope he stays injury-free for a start.

Federer conquerer at wimbledon.......:lol::haha:

Extremely funny :retard: If Federror had the same amount of injuries he would be playing home with his baby and Karlovic would be serving hamburgers only in Zagreb.

But it is very sad that Ancić again lose with himself it was the same with Kukushkin but he won't to retire there in Heilbronn.

Playing in the next week I think it's allready given out by Mario.

Not again...

A very humble decision by him to play a Futures event, considering his history in the game. :worship: A smart decision to ease himself back into competition in this way, in the hope that he could get used to the winning feeling again. Hopefully the retirement isn't for the same reasons as before...
