Horrid first set from Nole, improved from there. Needs to up his ante.
AO R2: Djokovic def. Chiudinelli 3-6 6-1 6-1 6-3Lopez 01-21-2010, 02:16 AM Horrid first set from Nole, improved from there. Needs to up his ante. Sunset of Age 01-21-2010, 02:17 AM Nice from 'Cutienellie' in the first set. After that, no doubts - better player won. Congrats Nole! :hatoff: Puschkin 01-21-2010, 02:18 AM I only saw patches as I switched to Ferrer/Baghdatis a lot, but despite the clear scoreline after the first set, the win was not convincing in my view. Ad Wim 01-21-2010, 02:18 AM Very bad, wasted a bit too much energy, but it's good to have your bad match in the first rounds... EnriqueIG8 01-21-2010, 02:18 AM What a shitty performance from Nole today. Marco didn't do anything special today and still Djokovic needed 4 sets. An even more dreadfull performance than Federer against Andreev 2 days ago... Agree with you that Nole needs to up his game but he won't have to the next round as he is facing Istomin. Arkulari 01-21-2010, 02:18 AM Marco can only take positive things from this match, if he can keep up with the level shown in the first set, he can make some noise around :yeah: But this was NID, they simply aren't in the same league ;) MIMIC 01-21-2010, 02:19 AM Probably ranks in the top 5 of Novak's worst matches. 9 double faults 46 winners against 61 unforced errors 33% 2nd serve pts won His opponent wasn't good enough to beat a Novak that was in such a poor form. Corey Feldman 01-21-2010, 02:19 AM The falcon is looking good in those clothes  moon language 01-21-2010, 02:20 AM Passive start from Djokovic. I blame that horrific outfit Tacchini has him in. Ibracadabra 01-21-2010, 02:20 AM He ended the year so well and now he's starting it horridly. austyphoon 01-21-2010, 02:22 AM Much closer then the scoreline showed, Chiudinelli only converted 3/17 BP's. If Chiu broke at 1-0 in the second set to go up 2-0 it could have been a different game! Sri 01-21-2010, 02:23 AM I wouldn't care too much about Nole's performance in early rounds. He can lift up his game when required. Ad Wim 01-21-2010, 02:25 AM I wouldn't care too much about Nole's performance in early rounds. He can lift up his game when required. +1 «Ivan» 01-21-2010, 02:26 AM i was 16,chiudinelli was 20,we played some exo tournament in hanover(he was the oldest one)'n nobody liked this arrogant swiss-off court.he thought he's stud:haha:(most of germans, austrians 'n swiss players were there.super timing for med timeout(ad-40).fairness:spit: back than he was "injured" all the time just like today 'n he pissed between the sets just like today. «Ivan» 01-21-2010, 02:27 AM The falcon is looking good in those clothes  get some taste feldman.he's like a clown. Did you lose against him? :p «Ivan» 01-21-2010, 02:33 AM i like it and the black silk i like nike 'n adidas black. sergio t. shines like eifel during the new year. philosophicalarf 01-21-2010, 02:37 AM Much closer then the scoreline showed, Chiudinelli only converted 3/17 BP's. If Chiu broke at 1-0 in the second set to go up 2-0 it could have been a different game! Yeah, bad miss there on the bp. Funny how he lost 10 games in a row after that :-) «Ivan» 01-21-2010, 02:38 AM Did you lose against him? :p 6-1, 6-2  he was older, better player 'n i have been looking at his legs more than at balls(tennis balls):D only zverev showed him where sheep goes. he def. marco 2-0,easily. Speed of Light 01-21-2010, 02:43 AM If it were not for the mental fragility of this clown Chuidinelli, Joker would have been whipped out of the tournament in straights. RogerFan82 01-21-2010, 02:44 AM Novak needs a match against Nadal to get some some pop and confidence into his groundstrokes. Rafa = Fed Killa 01-21-2010, 02:55 AM Keep on going Nole xargon 01-21-2010, 03:46 AM Passive start from Djokovic. I blame that horrific outfit Tacchini has him in. Yeah but 25 million for 10 years I would wear anything. MatchFederer 01-21-2010, 03:55 AM Especially after the first set, Novak was hitting his groundies with very good depth, but his shots could be penetrating the courts a little bit more than they are. He is getting more accurate with both his FH and BH down the line too. Also, he started to really stand his ground on the baseline and started to hit his grounstrokes nice and early on both sides during sets 2,3 and 4. Djokovic is playing good hard court tennis, as one would expect! Sweet. tektonac 01-21-2010, 04:17 AM Nole was way too passive in the 1st set, annoying to watch. As soon as he attacks, a different story. Halba 01-21-2010, 04:20 AM Probably ranks in the top 5 of Novak's worst matches. 9 double faults 46 winners against 61 unforced errors 33% 2nd serve pts won His opponent wasn't good enough to beat a Novak that was in such a poor form. it doesn't matter. joke draw until the semis. he can be a different man then. FlameOn 01-21-2010, 04:29 AM Nole. :o Most unconvincing win ever, pick it up a bit (or a lot). Noleta 01-21-2010, 04:59 AM 9 double faults 46 winners against 61 unforced errors 33% 2nd serve pts won Oh my:eek::help::o CooCooCachoo 01-21-2010, 07:36 AM i was 16,chiudinelli was 20,we played some exo tournament in hanover(he was the oldest one)'n nobody liked this arrogant swiss-off court.he thought he's stud:haha:(most of germans, austrians 'n swiss players were there.super timing for med timeout(ad-40).fairness:spit: back than he was "injured" all the time just like today 'n he pissed between the sets just like today. :cuckoo: Marco is one of the nicest players off-court, even thanking his fans for support when he lost a tough match in which he didn't play very well. Anyways, good to see Marco take a set off Djokovic. Wish it was more, but oh well. dusan1610 01-21-2010, 08:12 AM Bravo Nole! Nole fan 01-21-2010, 09:39 AM If it were not for the mental fragility of this clown Chuidinelli, Joker would have been whipped out of the tournament in straights. You wish. Even playing bad Novak can win anyone. I wouldn't worry much about his first rounds, he will pull out the big guns when he needs them. Economizing the effort is what he's doing. By the way, i love the new outfit on him. Jōris 01-21-2010, 09:48 AM Good. Sophocles 01-21-2010, 10:30 AM Novak needs a match against Nadal to get some some pop and confidence into his groundstrokes. You're right. Shame they're in opposite halves. *Ljubica* 01-21-2010, 10:38 AM Poor match from Novak  He had better up his level before the next match. Vida 01-21-2010, 11:41 AM poor indeed. it simply isnt clicking for the man. Florida 01-21-2010, 12:26 PM Too much confusion with his game. He is a basline player willing to experiment with net play and jeopardizing what he is best at: baseline game!!!!!! I guess he will analyze the pros and cons and get his act together, because with this kind of play some of the big guns will have him for breakfast...... The serve is crying for HELP!!!! Good luck in the next round. He will be facing Istomin, a big server..... Too bad if he would only get his act together, because his draw is favorable..... munZe konZa 01-21-2010, 12:58 PM You're right. Shame they're in opposite halves. Nole can beat him in the final Time Violation 01-21-2010, 01:07 PM Yea, if he cannot triple bagel his every opponent, he should better retire. Acer 01-21-2010, 01:11 PM Well it's not like he doesn't have the easiest draw anyway. Time Violation 01-21-2010, 04:24 PM Well, it depends. Everybody thought Cilic for example, should have a very easy match against Tomic, but it was almost his last match at the AO :) tektonac 01-21-2010, 05:16 PM Does anyone think Chiudinelli used a bit of gamesmanship with his time-outs to keep Novak in the heat for a bit longer? http://tinyurl.com/yes8dak Vida 01-21-2010, 05:28 PM Does anyone think Chiudinelli used a bit of gamesmanship with his time-outs to keep Novak in the heat for a bit longer? http://tinyurl.com/yes8dak yes cause he did it - and no cause why should he care if djoko cant stand the heat? born_on_clay 01-21-2010, 07:32 PM a win is a win Nole :) fran70 01-21-2010, 09:49 PM It wasn`t the best match for Djoko but a victory is a victory in anyway :-) | |
