I suppose we've finally seen the last from Fabrice then. Or have we?

Au revoir, at least for now. :wavey:

I would definitely put a question mark after "retires" :D

Have a nice life, Fab.

it wasnt a big defeat . both 1st and 2nd set could go an other way . both were 5-5.

Wouldn't Santoro prefer to finish off his career at RG?

really this match could have went santoro's way. he wasn't outplayed all that much liek many of you predicted. i mean both of the first sets went to 5-5. and cilic had many UE. i could see though, that cilic really wanted to end the match as he started to play more aggressive and stop just hitting the ball bsck to santoro. because in the end, santoro would win it with some magical volley or overhead kill.

good work santoro, we'll see you soon, prolly before the years out i would guess.

cilic wasn't aggressive enough until 6-5 in the second

Why the fuck is Santoro still playing? Retire already, though I do respect his longevity and craftiness.

I think Santoro upset his rhythm completely.

Hasn't Santoro been on about retiring since 2008...I doubt this is it.

7-5 7-5 6-3 is not good enough.
He should've won 6-3 6-2 6-0 or something like that. Now I expect that score against Tomic.

I wish that would happen to yourself.

Retiring here would be shit and pointless. Just play RG, draw a big name, go out a la Guga and retire in Paris.

I think one would need Rick Deckard to effectively retire Santoro. Cilic just doesn't cut it.

More like 1998. He's the first man to fake retirement in three different decades. Probably in all sports.

When I read the title I thought Cilic had retired. But no...

Retiring here would be shit and pointless. Just play RG, draw a big name, go out a la Guga and retire in Paris.

Retiring at RG 10 would be stupid, as he should retire at the tennis sanctuary that is Wimbledon.

Retiring at Wimbledon would be pointless, as there's Newport title to be won.

Retiring at US Open would be really dumb, because he wouldn't have played a match in a proper decade (that is 2011-2020).

Retiring in 2011 would be foolish, for in 2012 the world ends and he could have had the longest career span till the end of the world.
