Have fun.

Do you talk to yourself?
You reck germs can catch germs?
Are you double jointed?
Did the Big Bang make a bang?
What do you miss about being a kid?
When you were a kiddie, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Whats the craziest thing you've ever done?
Whats something i dont know bout ya?
Whats your greatest achievement so far?
What do you wanna be remembered for after you're gone?
Whats your favourite place on earth?
If you had 3 wishes, which would be granted, what would they be?
If you HAD to change your name, what would you change it to?
What do you think is the greatest invention in your lifetime?
Who would you go gay for?
If you could go on a road trip with anyone, dead or alive, who?
What's your most hated household chore?
Whats your first thought when you wake up?
What is the speed of dark?
Can you fake accents? Which?
Name two things you consider yourself to be very good at?
Name two things you consider yourself to be very bad at?
Have you ever won a trophy?
Ever been arrested?
Fave Mam moment?
Fave Papa moment?
Fave Sibling moment?

Ok I'll be nice and just post half of them for now.

Fave Sibling moment?
Me, mama and bro were talking hypothetically, and mama said that she would give up her place in the lifeboat for me, and my brother said "that won't be necessary, I will have already pushed her in the water"

Preference wise I prefer sprinting, its just so wild, and the adrenaline pumping and all. But I do both, correction I did both :bigcry: long distance was freestyle, and sprints was backstroke. Never got along with butterfly or breaststroke - so I ain't a female Michael Phelps, well that and not having a haul of medals

Awww thats sweet  thanks, you too, I liked your intro in Miss MTF, and your posts are funny :)

Well I have a southern Cali accent, (it's gone away a bit since I've been to New York) but anyways if you have that accent you are stereotyped as the dumb blonde Californian who spends all their time on the beach. :o

I managed to swing her round to seeing him as a hottie, it was long and grueling work - i can tell ya :p

As for the tennis, well the St Petes doubles wit Richie did wonders, and then God knows what happened, I went to Bercy, came back and she loathed him. But then she hates Feddie too, apart from Richie, she has bollocks taste ;)

 Glad the conversion is half done. :p He'll have to stop getting the biggies in the first round of GSs next year.

1) When will it start kicking in that Safin has stepped away from tennis?
2) Who do you want to become next year's F1 Champ, talking realistically here?
3) Would you consider coming to Wimbledon next year? :awww:

I know what was that, Djokovic, Roddick & Moonfils, - poor lad

1) Well the latest is, he hasn't. He is playing in Champions tour in Brasil in March. Believe me there have been many expletives uttered since I heard the news. But glad he is still in public eye I guess.

2) Oh well, if you're gonna stipulate realism then probs one of the McClaren boys, or Vettel. But its hard to tell without knowing how the cars are running. I mean no one could have forseen this season, at the end of lasts. But unrealistically speaking, Fisi for the win !!! :rocker2:. What you thinking?

3) Ca depends ma petite amie, but I am planning on Queens for sure. But it depends on the usuals, finances, location, health yadayada. You going? to either?

1) Do you think Jen will be mad at me for campaigning a bit in Miss MTF?

As for F1 champ, Kimi Raikkonen..

oh wait. :sobbing:

No the answer you're looking for is Alonso (). Or Schumi.

Yes I'm thinking of going to Queens - not confirmed though. Wimbledon is a lock, I enjoyed my trip so much this year. Would love it if we could all meet up you, Tori, Rosie, me and whoever else wants to join in. =]

But nah, I don't think she would be pissy, and if she is, blame me.

ALONSO waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, anything but that. Sorry bout Kimi  but his manager implied it was just a sabbatical and that he would be back.

Aye, that sounds like tonnes of fun, who is Rosie btw? :o I better get earning some serious money, if i wanna visit all these tourneys.

I'll be at Queens quallies I think and Eastbourne finals maybe, and also the first week of wimbledon unless my boss is completely mean (have actually begged someone at work to swap leave with me for that). Am also hoping for Roland tickets as a birthday present but that might be a step too far.

Would love to meet up with you girls.

Awww, sorry. I confess I was out of F1 at that time, was in London, and oblivious to TV, or TV was oblivious to me. But I remain hopeful always, and surely Button is inspiration no? I mean he had done nothing spectacular for years, was almost out of a job, and then walloped them all.

Right, yet to make Rosie/Rose/*Ljubica*'s acquaintance. A pleasure left to come :)

As for Wimby I have already got a hotel booked for this year. If my friend doesn't come I can cancel it and book somewhere else. Gotta get the cheap deals when they come round.

Eastbourne I will either convince my friend to squat at hers or convince my parents that they really do need to visit my gran that weekend ;)

What do you think of this performance? Is the note at 2:24 screaming or spot-on?

Also what songs have made you cry in the past/made you close to crying?

I think I'm addicted to your thread.

Dine     A thousand apologies for not answering these sooner - I totally didn't see them. I got an email from Jen telling me to wake up and stop being dopey. I am sorry. I thought the viddy was in reference to 'fat lady singing' - not that she was fat. Anyway, I apologise. Forgiven?

As for the questions:

1) she has a lovely voice, very mellow, and guteral () - and makes a gorgeous sound. And no, I don't think she is screaming @ 2:24, or if she screamed like when in danger no one would take her serious :p. I haven't heard of her before, is that really shameful? I will go hunt for her though - me likey ;)

2) there are a few tunes that make me teary, but not full on crying. There is a Moby song, Why does my Heart feel so bad? - which my brother said he wanted played at his funeral, so now when I hear it, I get a little emotional. There are two Sigur Ros songs - Hoppipolla (which was not helped by Bercy using this on Marats Au Revoir vid) and Sigur 1 (untitled) always makes me melancholy. Oh and anything string by Elgar, cos my Granpapa was a violinist and Elgar was his favourite, the cello concerto is heartwrenching.

To be honest, I find music so much more emotive than words. I will associate memories to music, or like in a film, the music can be doubley more powerful than the dialogue - why I have a real penchant for film scores I guess .

I hope you come back to my thread, and i didnt piss you off by missing your post

Do you have another favorite player to watch now that Marat has retired? ()

Hey Amanda :wavey:

:bigcry: its the off season that won't end

But I like Jim Chardy, Richie Gasquet and Feddie - like seeing them play. I'll have to see how its feels on Monday, but there is a bit of a void there - do you have that??

Also I have got into new people recently, I guess in preparation  - like Pico, Misha, and a little bit Tomas after seeing him live.

Are you psyched for the new season?

:Zaz:
12-31-2009, 06:11 PM
I have the "void" too.. Watched th 05AO semi on ESPN classics the other night and it made me even more sad! Anyway, I am not too psyched for the new season but I will still watch. I like Gulbis pretty well (plus he is Marat's friend I think :)) Also like Pico and Andreev - of course nobody can compare to Marat, though. Hopefully we will continue to get news, etc. in his forum though..

I know, this sounds a little naff, but I looked at some of Smitty's pics from Cincy, and got a bit worked up over one of him waiting for serve. I guess the thought that won't happen cept for exho's - i dunno. Girly moment :o

Do you go Pico's forum?

The 'gf' stuff was kinda fun in his forum, people coming out the woodwork, latching on to any bit of news  - but I think it will be still active over there, he isn't one to hide away for long :D

Hallo :bigwave:

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal? (:rolls: I thought of that today :p)

If you were given free tickets to Wimby and could attend any match you want but you would have to sit next to Judy Murray during all of them would you take the tickets and go?

Why is abbreviated such a long word?

Do you like watching game shows?

What about reality crap t.v. shows?

Actor/Actress you absolutely hate?

Why is it that rain drops but snow falls? (It's gonna snow here in a little bit :D)

Why are cigarettes sold at gas stations where smoking is prohibited? (I expect you to know this)

If they squeeze olives to get olive oil, how do they get baby oil? :scared:

And last one, what do you think would be a good new username for moi?

:Zaz:
01-03-2010, 02:18 AM
^ I hope it will still be active otherwise I will go into total withdrawel.. :sobbing: I have lurked in Pico's forum but I may have to start posting, too, now! :)

Aye, I might do the same :) but I am sure the Safinholics will be back, no fear

Hallo :bigwave:

Bonsoir :) Glad you are back on the East coast safe and sound.

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal? (:rolls: I thought of that today :p)

 thats a goodie, go you ;) Dunno but it allowed Spielberg to make a shocking film set in one - shameful Steve, shameful :tape:

If you were given free tickets to Wimby and could attend any match you want but you would have to sit next to Judy Murray during all of them would you take the tickets and go?

If I could have ear plugs and tunneled vision concentrated soley on play, then yea fo sho, otherwise hell NOOOOO :scared:

Why is abbreviated such a long word?

Cos the Ancient Romans understood irony :p

Do you like watching game shows?

Quizzy ones, yea sometimes. Inane 'get covered in shit for fun' ones, nope

What about reality crap t.v. shows?

I do like Strictly, is that reality TV? But if you mean Big Brother, I'm a Celeb, Survivor types than nah, would rather stick pins in my eyes.

Actor/Actress you absolutely hate?

I try to avoid films starring Aniston, Cruise, Kidman, Zeta Jones, Lohan.

Why is it that rain drops but snow falls? (It's gonna snow here in a little bit :D)

cos Spongebob said so :p

(or the boring answer cos the mass of the flake is lighter )

Why are cigarettes sold at gas stations where smoking is prohibited? (I expect you to know this)

so even the dullest of people can live a little dangerously :p

If they squeeze olives to get olive oil, how do they get baby oil? :scared:

with a juicer? :p

And last one, what do you think would be a good new username for moi?

You're loosing SMD? pourquoi? ummmm i'll think bout it, i am the nickname generator afterall :p

More questions. http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii253/sunnysmydelite/avatars%20and%20icons/cheer.gif

Why thank you kindly m'dear

1. What is the first thing that you do in the morning?! (I hope you brush your teeth missy!)

1. First thing in the afternoon ;) I get up, go bathroom, have tea and ciggie, then brush me gnashers, and then get dressed once i know the plan for the day.

2. Describe your perfect date.

2. ummm...i had a perfect one once, went for a walk on the beach, got a bag of chips (he had fish and chips) and then we joined our mutual friends for a beach party. It was nighttime btw. It was fun, cos it wasn't pretentious, just really relaxed so was easier - if you get me?

3. So what is this new obsession with Pico all about?!

3. :haha: wellllll, i need something to fill the Safun void, but I hadn't really taken any notice of him cept when he played one of my faves, but I saw him three times @Bercy, and liked wot i saw, and he is shouty and angry on court too sometimes, (so a mini maratski) and this pic helps

http://www.abrilosojos.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/recibiendo-obsequio-de-la-marca.jpg

He is just cutie patootie

4. You do remember what his nickname means in Bulgarian right?! :rolls:

4. nah i cannae remember, was gussy the pissing one? or was that pico? I obviously tried to banish it all from memory

5. What do you think of this song?

cgqOSCgc8xc

I know the vid is a tad on the creepy side but just focus on the song!

5. I looooooove Damien Rice, been a fan since the beginning. Both albums are very sensitive and extraordinary. The Irish do have soleful musicians, wot with Snow Patrol as well.

6. Stripes or Polka Dots?

6. Polka Dots, apparently one of my first sentences was "I dont like liver, I dont like fish and I hate stripes" - obviously years of me mama forcing these things on me, got my goat in the end. The stripe thing still stands FYI

7. Do you think someone has put a hex on me because I keep getting morning classes. :(

7. Aye, and I think we know who.....chin chinny chin chinny chin chin cheroo :p

8. You don't really need to answer the above question.

8. Answered but awww poor you  - you could just bunk off?

9. I found this a while ago:

9. :rolls: :haha: :rolls:  Couldn't have happened to a nicer person ;)

10. Can you tell I'm bored and should actually be sleeping right now?!

10. Jet lag perhaps? or maybe too much coffee in Sin City

Hey I loved her in Chicago.

Sorry :awww: but that film also stars Gere, another I don't like - looks like my piano teacher, so i cannae see him in a romantic lead role :scared:

I am leaning towards Gretchen. hehehehe.
Have a nice dinner.

I am fed and watered. Gretchen or Gretch-a-sketch? Shall i stop thinking then? Making me redundant :bigcry:

2. Also what did you buy for your birthday!? :D

2. Also what did you buy for your birthday!? :D

Haha, well it was online, cos I am still snowed in  - over a week now  - i am starting to get cabin fever lol, but yea back on point...um t-shirts, dresses, leggings, cardigan, and more t-shirts from deLia's (so I blame you :p),

3. What was the last good movie you saw? I need something interesting for this weekend, because instead of studying I will of course be doing something else.

well I watched a frenchie film called Apres Vous which was very good and funny too, and ummmm before that Priceless, another frenchie, and before that Memoirs of a Geisha (which I know you've seen, but its good enough to watch over and over no?) and then i watched High Plains Drifter for some nostalgic Clint.

So any of them i recommend, or you could talk to hoe :p

4. Lastly, thoughts on my new hair color?!? :p

Do you think I will get over my fear/hate for dogs this year? I got pretty close with du nord's new doggie, we were literally laying next to each other inches apart, I could smell it's breath. :p I have pictorial evidence as well, though you can't actually see how frightened I am.

Do you plan on getting a new pet in the future? I know you said you wanted a beagle, but when!? And maybe now you want something else.

Favorite Lady Gaga song atm?

I am listening to 'I Ran (so far away)' atm sooooo what's the first song that comes to mind from the 80s? :D

Do you get mani pedis?

Ok that's it for now. hehe.

Some more questions. :yippee:

YAY :D

Do you think I will get over my fear/hate for dogs this year? I got pretty close with du nord's new doggie, we were literally laying next to each other inches apart, I could smell it's breath. :p I have pictorial evidence as well, though you can't actually see how frightened I am.

I think you will ultimately always be a kitty cat person, but there is no reason why you will not see pooches for the wonders of the natural world that they are. Especially with your brothers doggie too. I mean its not like Doggies are scary arse freaks like spiders issit? (or are they to you???) Speaking of, what are you gonna do with Jelly Belly when you come to England?

Do you plan on getting a new pet in the future? I know you said you wanted a beagle, but when!? And maybe now you want something else.

I have been thinking about it alooooooooot recently, and when I know for sure, what am doing, and where I am going to be, I will get a pooch, probs a lab or dalmatian, but maybe a beagle. I have always had labradors though, so I looooove them most. I can't decide whether for that reason it would be worse to get another Lab or to just go with it??

Favorite Lady Gaga song atm?

Bad Romance is constantly played on music channel, so I've heard it constantly and luuuurve it. I actually like her alot even thou she is a bit crazeeee.

I am listening to 'I Ran (so far away)' atm sooooo what's the first song that comes to mind from the 80s? :D

Man On The Corner by Genesis (for reasons you know :p)

Do you get mani pedis?

Nope  - I would love to try it, a real girly activity, but I am a bit slack with these things. For a girly girl, I am a bit shit.

Ok that's it for now. hehe.

Thanks hun

Leo is a good choice, which one? Are you gonna see him in the new Scorsese?

Maybe Catch Me If You Can or The Beach. And yes I do plan to see him in the new Scorsese!

Welll....I do sometimes see them as scary arse freaks, but we will see. Btw Du Nord got a black lab and his fam already had a gold one. :p
Oh I will take her with me, that is allowed no? Oh crap I will have to go through hell to find a place that accepts pets won't I? :o Ooooo and today my bunny ate half of my shoe.

So just pooches no other animals?! And aren't dalmatians deaf or blind or at least one of those?

Bad Romance is constantly played on music channel, so I've heard it constantly and luuuurve it. I actually like her alot even thou she is a bit crazeeee.

I want your loving, I want your revenge, you and me could write a bad romanceee, oh oh oh oh oooooh

 They play it constantly here too.

Nope  - I would love to try it, a real girly activity, but I am a bit slack with these things. For a girly girl, I am a bit shit.

Ah you so should, it's mucho fun. :D

You could bring your kitty she would just need a rabies jab and the right stuff filled in but if you wanted to bring your bunny it would be subject to 6 months quarantine I think.

Hmm good about the kitty, but the bunny is mostly my sisters...I think  So she probs won't let me take him.

A few years back I was searching for Timmy Henman news, cos English press is brutal with tennis outside the grass season, and was a 'guest' until last year and then decided to join, and am now addicted :sobbing:

2) When did you start watching tennis?

When I was really little, first tennis memory, was Pat Cash climbing the stands after winning Wimbledon. So what's that.....23 years now :o gosh i am old

3) Which match do you consider as best of all time?

Best quality rather than my favourite - would be 2007 Wimbledon Final, (I didn't like the 08 final it just seemed strained from Federer, whereas 07 the tennis was roaring, and it was better quality IMO.)

4) What’s your favourite match of your favourite player and who is the opponent you enjoy to see him play against the most?

I love Marat vs. Roger, because I believe them to be parallel in talent (when Marat is concentrating ) so AO 05, is perfect for me, and Marat won for a change lol, but Marat against Nalby is always good to watch because he brings the best out of Marat, so DC06 was good too (as well as all their other meetings)

5) Who would be your favourite coach for your favourite player?

I have secret love for Peter, and he did coach Marat so that was great :) I would have loved for Tarpi to officially coach Marat though, that would have been good, as he is the only one that seems to 'manage' Marat. But some volley coaching from Tim Henman would have been glorious

6) Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully married, with a son, living in France, and happy. Having a film being made would be great too, but if the others happen and that doesn't, I'll be satisfied.

7) Do you have any quirks (for example having to check 10 times whether you have really closed the door)?

not officially, I mean I have to check I have my keys before I shut the front door, but thats cause my memory is shit, and if I close the door, you can't get in without a key.

8) How would your friends describe you?

Loyal, funny, a good listener and dopey

9) What do you value most in a person?

Honesty

10) What are the key things someone should know about you?

ummm.....that I get restless, and sometimes disappear for a while, but not to take it personally, I just need to regroup. My memory is awful, so not to take it personal if I forget stuff. And once I like you, I will move heaven and earth for you.

11) What's something that not many people know about you?

That's for them to refute knowledge of :p

12) Who was your most embarassing celebrity crush?

Most embarrassing ummmm..... well I don't consider most of them shocking, but I guess old De Niro is considered bad.

13) Which movie have you seen most often?

A Shot in the Dark - Peter Sellers Pink Panther movie, through choice. And without choice, my brother made me sit through Star Wars trilogy so much, that I can recite the thing.

14) When was the last time you ate something for the first time? (what was it?)

I ate smoked salmon for the first time, about two months ago. I am vegetarian so it was a real stretch, but I thought I should learn what all the fuss was about. It was grim.

15) If you could have dinner with 3 people from any time in history, whom would you invite? Why?

I would have my French grandmere, who died before I was born. Charles M Schulz, who I believe to be a great philospher, and Stephen Fry for some comedy.

16) When did you got your first PC? When have you been using the internet for the first time and do you remember which information you searched there first?

We had computers at school since I was about 11, and could go on the internet there, I think I looked for Tori Amos tickets, and train times. I got my own laptop when I was about 22, but have had a home computer before then.

17) What are the 3 most precious things in your life?

My memories, my mother, and a jewelry case belonging to my granny.

18) If you could ask God one question, what would it be?

Was all this shite, really your will?

19) If you had lots of money to spend, which charity would you donate this money too and why?

The animals, so WWF or something. They need our help, as we are the ones destroying their habitat.

20) Which 3 things do you like the most and which ones do you like the least about yourself?

Like:
1) my loyalty
2) my abstract thought
3) my eyes

Dislike:
1) I get bored easily
2) my inability to settle
3) I have some scars which i loathe.

Thanks in advance for taking time to answer :)

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, and for asking me some questions

Awwwww shes just tooo gorgeous for words, the pic of her resting her head on the window sill :inlove: its just classic Labrador. How old is she? Have you always had Labs? Aren't they the most wonderful dogs. So soppy, but they just break and mend your heart.

My black Lab would have looooooooved Shelby, he had a real thing for blondes :p - we tried to mate him with a 'brunette' - another black, and he wasn't having any of it, but took a real shine to two blonde retrievers that lived in the village. It was a struggle to pry him away  I can find a pic if you interested?

Sorry bout Delias

was that hard :p but ooooh nice choices :yeah: now i want to see pics of you in 'em  - that sounded a little creepy, I didn't mean it that way lol.

Maybe Catch Me If You Can or The Beach. And yes I do plan to see him in the new Scorsese!

oooh go wit the Tom Hanks one, The Beach is shit!!! Have you seen What's Eating Gilbert Grape? That is good Leo.

What did DuNord call it? is it he or she? Well you are certainly being subjected to the 'flooding' technique of behavioural psychology. Its good for you. Dogs are good, they alert you when a terminator is nearby :p

Does Jellabarbarella have a passport? or a microchip?

So just pooches no other animals?! And aren't dalmatians deaf or blind or at least one of those?

I had rabbits when i was a wee girl, but ended up with 21, so ummm done rabbits for now, although saw this and melted....

The Beach is alright, it's not shiiiiiit, come on you see him shirtless in that one. Yes I have seen Gilbert Grape, double the yum with Johnny Depp, though that fat mom totally kills it.

What did DuNord call it? is it he or she? Well you are certainly being subjected to the 'flooding' technique of behavioural psychology. Its good for you. Dogs are good, they alert you when a terminator is nearby :p

Gold one is a he, name is Rocco. Black one is also a he, name is Nacho , I like the gold one the best, Rocco is the one that I warmed up to. :p I think he is forcing me to spend time with them on purpose, so I won't be a hata anymore.

Does Jellabarbarella have a passport? or a microchip?

Um excuse me her name is Jella Bella Portabella! and I'll get whatever is needed, no feline gets left behind! :rocker2:

But compared to the book, its awful, with a capital A. But yea shirtless and tanned Leo is worth looking at. He shoulda got the oscar for Gilbert thou, that was robbed.

Ok yah that's true. Also Juliette(or however you spell her name) Lewis was there and that was before she became a total weirdo. good movieeee all around. Leo should have had at least 3 oscars by now.
Gilbert, Aviator and Departed(but he wasn't even nominated for that one :ras:)

Like Madonna's kiddo? :p but thats cute, I will do the same if we ever meet. Between us you will be a total convert :D

Yup like Madge's lil one. Well it can't hurt, I mean there are hot guys walking dogs in the park, so if I wanna be with em I have to like their doggies. :p

Would love to see a pic Mia! :hearts: Shelby is 9 . I just can't say enough how sweet she is or how much I adore her. She puts up with all the wildness in the house (2 boys ages almost 3 and 5) and is so gentle. When it is stormy outside she is terrified so we put her in the bed with us! A few years ago I used to let her go to "doggy daycare" a couple of days a week and she loved it. They had pools for them to swim, people who threw balls to them, tons of toys, etc. Anyway, one day I picked her up and she had hurt her knee - torn ACL. Se had surgery but couldn't really jump anymore afterwards. It will be like a true death in the family when she passes. I can't even think about it! :sobbing:

On a different note, doesn't it seem surreal that the AO draw is coming out tonight and MArat will not be there??

sooo sorry, it took ages to load.

Labradors are perfect with children, and you can totally trust them around little 'uns. Even when they tug on ears, and yank on tails  But WOW you have two wee boys, how wonderful. I love boys :D My doggie used be terrified off fireworks so I understand the storm thingy. Thats awful that Shelby got injured, did they explain what happened? And arthritis is such a problem for Labs, you gotta watch that. Do you live near the sea? Does she love the beach? And its heartbreaking when they trundle of the mortal coil, but yep don't even think about it  It hurts even now when I think about mine

But here he is my little munchkin, been without him 3 years now, but he got to 16 1/2 so it was a good innings.

As for Marat, :sobbing: it just feels wrong, like it's a fake non season started. I am trying to get enhausiastic but its taking alooooooot of work. Selfish man, :p Especially hard, seeing Santoro in the draw and not him. I love Fab too, but arrrgh.

yea Roger is in Lleytons quarter, so the official web said, gotta love the aussies hehe.

I don't like Reeesh's prospects. Misha is dangerous. Plus I like Misha. Obviously not as much, but still.

Yea, i reck Fab will say, well I shall just do one more French, and then it will be well i shall do Wimbledon again...yada yada :p

Magically back wit hoe, or you got no time for your old pals anymore, too busy with Converse, South Africa, Jen loving Scots? ;)

They are quite energetic and I am no spring chicken. :p

but accounts of your almost entry into Miss MTF, begged to differ :p

They were nice about her injury but I am still upset that it happened. They said she was jumping out of the pool and twisted it.
 She is on arthritis meds every day.. And she does love the beach! We don't live close (about 8 hrs away) but we have taken her on many vacations with us.

hmmmm, its still terrible, and i don't blame you for being upset.
Do you use a kennels or dog sitter when you have to go away without her?

:awww: He is adorable! So cute. :hearts: And 16 1/2 Wow!! That's a really long time for a lab... You must get another!

Thanks :) He was on the cover of a magazine too, the Kate Moss of the family, hehehe. Harry the previous one was 15, when he went. Its a huge chunk of life. I will one day get another, when I can afford to keep him, and when I am in one place.

Damn him! He should have shown more consideration for his fans.;) By the way I am getting ready to watch the AO 05 final on our tennis channel. :D

ooooh are you recording it so you can send it to your fellow Marat misser?? ;) Hope you enjoy it though, and it doesn't make you too melancholy. Does your family follow tennis with you?

:o Well I was only going to do it if they were desperate! I didn't submit any pics or anything..

Nah but Nikki or Natalii (can't remember who was organising it now) said that you were great, and amazing...going to find post...

Well we usually take her when we go out of town to visit family and sometimes on vacation.. But if we can't we usually have our babysitter stay at our house and take care of her. She has a doggy door at our house though so she can come and go as she pleases during the day.

Do you have a safe neighbourhood so she is ok to wander about alone? or are you rural so it doesn't matter? but ahhhh a babysitter, thats a good substitute, I am a dog walker, (until I make my millions writing ), but sometimes let dogs sleep over. It started cos picked my doggie up from kennels and he was sooo miserable, and depressed. The next time we had to go away, we got a dogsitter in, so he could stay at home, in familiar surroundings, and he was much happier.

You must have been a great "mom" to your babies.. :) It is a lot of responsibility to have one but so rewarding.

unconditional love :)

I am recording it but how can I share? (technologically challenged!) My hubby likes tennis but is not obsessed - and certainly not :inlove: with Marat. :p My 5 year old takes lessons and the little one wants to start too.

:haha: you'd be concerned if hubby had a jones for Marat. Although it would be understandable :p Do you play/knock about wit your 5 yr old? or anyone your own height?

As for sharing, if you can be bothered, umm rapidshare or something else that sounds like that...ummm, nope its gone. Anyway, you can upload onto them, and then distribute the link to people. Or split it into parts and upload on YT, all a bit time consuming me thinks. Just tell me what happens ;)

Now questions for you - it is your spotlight after all!

I sometimes feel weird being topic of interest if you get me

1. Do you play?

I haven't played since school, which was many lightyears ago. But I played since I was 4. I was pretty OK, but much better at swimming. But I do love playing for fun. I've never been competitive.

2. I assume you live in France but have you ever lived anywhere else? (your english is excellent)

Sorry the flag is confusing, but I am in England at the moment, and was born here, I do have French blood, only a tiny fraction is English, the majority is Italian . But am planning a permanent move from England to France, so I am pre-empting it a little. I spent every summer in France up to the age of 14, and just feel French, I was just born the wrong side of the channel  I say I am a French scouser!

3. Do you work or go to school?

I work, kinda, I am a dog walker (don't consider it work really), whilst trying to be a writer. Oh I said that above - ooops

Sorry I know these are just the basics but that's a good place to start right!?

its grand place to begin :)

Fed's backhand has become mediocre, his forehand is what saves him.

you may loooooathe him, but you really can't knock the man's skills, the BH is his weakest shot, but its really not crap, its better than most players strong shots :p That sounded really tard-y didn't it, but I think its true :)

I am not rural.. Memphis, Tennessee (not sure if this is a city that the whole world knows about!) But we have a large fenced in backyard so she is safe!

Sorry the only thing I know about Memphis is Graceland and Elvis, you must get sick of that no? I guess you must get a loooooooot of tourism with that connection. Do you like living there? Have you always lived there?

Oh yea, I also have heard of it cos of the tourney - have you gone to that? Are you going this year? Would love a pic of Jim Chardy if you do ;)

I mainly throw balls to the kids (they can't really hit back with any consistency. :) And I used to play quite a bit but now I am just too busy with 2 kids + part time job.

Were you good? or was it more for past time/hobby?

It is saved to my DVR. How do I upload to the computer from their?? Have you seen the Marat Safin Matches youtube channel? There are a lot of good vids there..

I really couldn't tell you, maybe a USB cable or bluetooth, but this is pure assumption. We haven't embraced this technolgy yet in our household  But yea I have seen that channel, i am subscribed , I would love to see matches of him, prior to me being a fan, the bits I missed. When did you start to like him?

Sounds great.. Being a writer sounds so "romantic". I always liked English/Literature courses in school but went the business route in college..

I went to an open day type thing for the business school, and left after 20 mins, I just couldn't see myself doing that for 3 years, so I went and did Italian instead. The writing thing does sound romantic, but its like anything really, its hard graft, and rejection is not something I am looking forward to. So is business what you work in now PT?

By the way are you a Gulbis fan at all? He seems to be Marat's friend and I kind of like him.. So mad that he drew Monaco in the 1st round :(

To be honest, I don't like him, i know Marat does but eeeh. Sorry :o. I will definitely rooting for Pico. Must be tough though for you, cos you like Pico too no?

Can I blame you if he loses tonight? I am staying home just for him.

No you can't blame me, why would ya? And what is with the 8:30am start time, like I will be able to watch that. I thought it was gonna be at 3am or somthing sensible.

OMG what a fedtard you are :inlove:

What's with all these new weird smiley smileys?! What the ones on MTF not good enough for ya!? :p

Like you can berate me for that??? you started it :ras: you just jealous cos mine are better.

And question...
How much money do you think I should spend on my shopping trip tomorrow without going broke!? :D

well you have to set aside 9 bucks for premium, and considering you just spent cash at F21, so I'll say 10% of your pay check. :p

I agree with you about the start time. I really need to get a train at 9 at the latest I can get the train at 10. Whats the chances the match is going to be over in an hour and a half. Am wondering if I can use dial up on the train with my laptop but I'm betting that will be too slow for a stream :( stupid time zones.

:Zaz:
01-15-2010, 11:40 PM
are you going on virgin trains? cos depending on your route they sometimes have wireless. Or you could get one of those USB connections, the mobile ones. You going anywhere nice?

But yea its pissy, it's an important moment for Richie fans, I'd be happy if someone recorded it and watch it that way

I am coming down your way on Sunday :p

down south seeing some friends. Would have gone today but couldn't get the day off and it's over a 4 hour train journey and 5 changes :( I'm sure the birmingham london line is a virgin trains so maybe that'll be ok for wifi. I have a mobile dongle thing for livescores but can't stream on that because it's capped.

I like the shoes, I couldn't walk in them, but yea :yeah: you will be a 6footer in them no?

BTW, bowties are Farfalle :)

Gretchen.
01-16-2010, 01:30 AM
Ah I already went to Anthropologie. :p no worries.

Dunno, the only thing that tastes different to me is sauce with macaroni instead of spaghetti, I don't like it.

Gretchen.
01-16-2010, 01:40 AM

As for the heels, I was born to walk in em, I was wearing my mothers shoes when I was 5.

Cloudygirl
01-16-2010, 01:43 AM
they're not heels. These are heels.

http://shop.irregularchoice.com/product_images/Autumn-Winter%202009/2830/2830-1-l.png ;) ;)

and yes I am very jealous because even with heels on I don't think I've ever been over 5ft 7

I can walk in spindly heels but really struggle with wedges, I trip in them.

:Zaz:
01-16-2010, 01:48 AM
I am a short arse too Tori, at least you can wear heels though, I remain a short arse, and flip about in flipflops. I have been guilty of buying high heels that I know I can't wear but just cos they are pretty :o

You are always having issues with your Mac though JD

Gretchen.
01-16-2010, 01:48 AM

Yes - Elvis is our claim to fame - along with Justin Timberlake  I am amazed at the amount of tourism associated with Graceland. He was before my time but I really don't care for his music at all. :o

I do like it here. Like any other city it has problems but overall it's a fun place to live. I did not grow up here but have lived here about 14 years. And I do Usually go to the Memphis tourney - my hubby's company (FedEx) used to sponsor so we would get great tickets each year. The year that Marat came we got tickets starting in the 2nd round. Of course I thought there was no danger that he wouldn't make it that far! :fiery: So I missed my only chance to see him live. :sobbing: Anyway, I hope to get tickets this year too so I will try to get a pic of Jeremy. ;)

Heeeeeeeeeey :wavey: you are back, so I thought time had come to reply :o - truth is i have been a bit preoccupied. But heeeelllllooooo :)

I didnt know about Justin too, what a musical heritage. We have the same living in Liverpool, constant Beatles stuff, either that or the football(soccer) team.

Ahh the Fed-ex thing, is that why in the movie Cast Away, Tom Hanks is in Memphis? Your hubby owns Fed-Ex??? waaaaaaa?

I am sorry I didn't realise you never got to see Marat , hopefully he will pull his finger out, and actually attend one of these exho's and you will get your shot. You reckon he will come back to tennis in some form? Exho's or seniors?

Well I noticed how hot he was when he won the US Open in 00.. But I wasn't on the internet all the time then so I wasn't following the forums, livestreams etc. until 2004 maybe. I usually kept up with what he was doing though. I found MTF in 2008 but was a member at TGFR before that. Seems like it was over way too soon..

ahhh so almost from the beginning, your coverage in the US is quite good though no? So you must have seen quite a lot of him, over the years. UK is dreadful for tennis, unless you have sky tv or something. I was late to Marat :sobbing: noticed him late 2004, and even more so @ AO 05, in partic when he played Roger,(cos Roger was my number 1 then) but Marat surpassed him Queens/Wimbles 08. Livestreams have been a godsend, or not - depending how you look at sleep/health/wrinkles etc etc :p

Yes - I do financial analysis/analytical work for a bank. It's not fun. As you can see I spend most of my time at work on here. :o

Wise choice, I admire you though. Anyone who works properly really  Do they allow access to the web then? Like most sites and stuff? I did work experience once, in an office, they had all kinds of guards up so you could hardly access anything

Yes I do like them both.. Everyone I like will go out eary I'm sure. Really I just don't want Fed to win again. And I'm not crazy about Murray either. From the top guys I will cheer for Andy R, Davy or Rafa I guess.

Another Fed hater?? I loathe Murray with an almost obsessional hatred :p Other than that, I am on the fence about most players not in my sig, (although have always liked Nalby, Misha and Kolya - they just not on the sig)

Hope you have a great week - I am leaving later today for a vacation. I am excited to go somewhere warm but it will be the first time I have left my children since the 2 year old was born so I am a little .. Anyway, talk to you in about a week! :wavey:

I hope you had a wonderful vacation. Did you manage to have some fun and adult time (that sounded very wrong - i just meant non parent time, as in grown up - god its getting worse...you know what i mean.....hopefully), and enjoy yourself despite missing your little'uns. Where did you go? Do you have a super tan? and a new penchant for some exotic food?

Gretchen.
01-26-2010, 04:36 AM
Hai :D

-If you had to chose 5 countries to go to in Europe(you've never been to any of them before) which would they be and why?

-Who are you rooting for in the World Cup this year?

-Excited about the Winter Olympics?

-Do you know the band "The White Stripes"? If yes, thoughts?

-Who do you want to win the AO out of the remaining players that are left in ze draw?(don't pick Roger :p)

Ok more later.

Hey Mia! I am back and trying to get used to the cold weather. :p How are you?? What has you preoccupied?

Oh no, cold weather - naaaasty. Snow or just dank? I am ok ta :), just life stuff, nothing exciting like a love affair or a lottery win :(

The Beatles.. now there is a band to claim! :hearts: Much better than Elvis. ;) And I wish my hubby did own FedEx! He just works there but he does get some nice perks. Headquarters is here - thus the movie.

Ahhh yay, a Beatles liker, always like that :D. Do you have a favourite album/song? How bout a fave Beatle?

Yeah.. I should have known not to count on Marat to make it to the second round of our tourney. Especially since he only came here once. I really hope he does decide to join the seniors tour at some point. Surely he will miss it at some point? I know I miss him. :sobbing:

 that was my problem at Bercy, I hadn't forseen him making it past round 1, hence my back street alley haggling on the Wednesday morning  - I miss him sooo bad, AO is just meeeh without him, as will all the usual tourneys be. It tough. But I think Zheyna will rope him into some stuff for sure. Would ya travel anywhere in the world to see him?

Well I quit work all together when I was pregnant with my first but the schools here are so expensive that I felt like I should go back at least part time. It's not too bad though..

Awww thats real decent of you, do you also feel that by working you retain a bit of independence? And are not defined by being a parent? Or does that kind of thing not bother you?

I don't really hate Fed. I am just ready for someone else to win something! I am bored with his dominance..I like Koyla too He has really grown one me with his funny pressers snd cute wife.

I will want the dominance to end when i think there is someone worthy of winning. Rafito is there, but none of the others seem particularly worthy imo. Irina is so beautiful, I saw her @Bercy, so pretty. But then I think Koyla is cute, wit his dimples, and his cute laugh.

Thanks! I did have a good time - just relaxing on the beach, eating, drinking and shopping! Can't get much better than that. :) I did miss the little ones but talked to them a lot. Got a small tan but try to use sunscreen these days.. Too much baking in the sun in my youth!

I am glad you had a good time, sounds perfect - beach, food, and shopping :yeah:. Did your wee bebes stay with grandparents?

Hope you are well and getting to watch some tennis.. Talk to you soon! :wavey:

Aye, have watched some, watched all of Pico :awww:. Thanks hun

-If you had to chose 5 countries to go to in Europe(you've never been to any of them before) which would they be and why?

God this is tough, ummm that i aint been to?!! and assuming that island territories are included in main states right?

Then......

Portugal - gorgeous weather, beautiful architecture and beaches and where my bessie mate is from, so we could have some craic.
Belgium - chips and chocolate
Germany - angular jawed men :p, hiiiistory, just intriguing
Ireland - heritage reasons and beautiful countryside
Russia - soooo much to say, literature, history, architecture, film etc etc....all that and one man :p but only in summer

if you not counting islands, then swap Germany and Belgium for Sicily :inlove: and Greece mainland. cos i done Italian mainland and Greek islands.

-Who are you rooting for in the World Cup this year?

Francia :worship:, silly question no? Despite the Henry incident souring qualies, they still my FTW! :rocker2:
Non European team is Brasila - and not for the reason you think :p

-Excited about the Winter Olympics?

I am excited actually, they had an advert for it on the Beeb, and i got all excited. Don't know why specifically, sport on tv i guess lol, but all types of skiing, bobsleigh, figure skating - all good times. Beats the constant snooker on atm, interspersed with Mostrich :crying2:

-Do you know the band "The White Stripes"? If yes, thoughts?

Yea, of course I know the White Stripes. I like some of their stuff, but not that much, they are a bit noisy for my
tastes. If you get what i mean by that  I dont own any albums or nothing. I like these best....

-Who do you want to win the AO out of the remaining players that are left in ze draw?(don't pick Roger :p)

Why not Rogelios? (any partic reason?)

Alright well if I had answered last night, it would have been Rafit, but considering the latest....

Djokovic - Just NO!
Josef - eeeh..no
Mostrich - Not if my life depended on it.
Cillic - not so much.
So if definitely no Rog, then it will have to be lil Niko.

Ok more later.

Look forward to it

Hi Mia! :wavey:

Hey Maya :) How and where have you been? Hope all is well with you. Happy New Year

I saw the magic word in the title of this thread, I've been eyeing it for a while.
I can talk about shoes for about 5 hours straight, get ready. :p

Inspired no?

1. Favourite city in the world?

So far, cos there are many more I want to visit, I will say Paris, no Roma, no Paris...oh I can't choose between the two. Those two,

2. How many languages do you speak, and which ones do you still want to learn?

This is a little complex, because the truth of it is, I have partial amnesia, and a large chunk of my life is blocked. I have no recall of a certain time, which was when I learnt most of them, so I cannot just reel off a sentence, but if it is written down, I can partially remember. So like I can watch a French or Italian film and get about 50% but if you asked me to write a short something in either, I'd be stumped. So I will say what it was and what it is now. Btw, Docs say I should get it all back at some time - no fear :) but its pretty sad

English 10/10 now 9/10
French 9/10 now 4/10
Italian 9/10 now 3/10
Spanish 4/10 now 0.5/10
Russian 8/10 now 1/10
German 5/10 now 0.5/10

As for new languages, if I can get those five back to fluency, and add Sicilian Italian, and South American Spanish - I will be happy enough. If I was gonna be adventurous I would add Portuguese.

3. Do you speak any Gaelic? Is it really as fantastic as it sounds to me? :D

Nah I don't speak any except for Sláinte!/Slainge Var, which is Cheers/Sante/Salute/Na zdrovyeh. It is a very confusing language, a lot of unsaid vowels, and oh just confusing - it does sound poetic sometimes and the script looks beautiful, but there are more attractive languages IMO. Here is an example of it.

ls4MDuBrXSI

4. What's the most beautiful place you've ever been to? a)in nature, b)in a city

a) there is a river and rock cliff in France, that I visited in childhood. It remains my favourite place. Its called Roque St Christophe. It is so ethereal and just reminds you how finite your time is, and how young you are in the sense of time. It was summer, and we canoed along the river, and then visited the caves. It is like something out of Lord of the Rings.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/4200637560_bd53146b5d.jpg

b) in a city....

I think the quaint is beautiful, so like in Paris, finding a village type atmosphere in the middle of such a big city, is beautiful to me. Montmartre being a perfect example. London, is a little like that, it has pockets of small world charm, but I always got the feeling it was part of something larger, whereas in Paris you feel you are in a hamlet. Anyway, that what i love about cities, because the architecture is amazing, the characters ever present, and the sense of community is at large, you can take what is assumed a wrong turn, and you find some wonderful piece of sculpture or a tiny bookshop.

5. Do you have a favourite designer?

Ooooh, well I like pretty and girly, so Alberta Ferretti, Miu Miu or Marc Jacobs. Chloe under McCartney & Philo was gorgeous. Dolce & Gabbana does gorgeous dresses, Armani does elegant lines, and have always admired Alexander McQueen for his vision.

6. How about a favourite shoe designer?

Louboutin is hard to beat no? But Uggs and Havaianas are pretty good too :p

7. Do you have a regular facial care routine? What is it?

Shockingly bad, warm water, soap and then some Vitamin E cream.

8. What was the last beautiful picture you've seen?

Storm Tree by Annie Brigman

http://www.leegallery.com/images/brigman/Annie%20Brigman_The%20Storm%20Tree.jpg

9. Favourite type of food?

Spaghetti - yummmy, had it for dinner with Olives, Parmesan, Peppers, Tomatoes.

10. I've been wondering about this since your namechange - if you had to create a gif smiley of :zaz:, what would it be like? Details per favore.

Oh lordy, I didn't realise that till now, its a gif  - I changed it cos I had a falling out with the number 12, which was supposed to be my lucky number, but there was an EPIC FAIL, so I chucked the -12, but apparently there is another Zaz, so I just picked a symbol. Shit, I shoulda thought that through.

But now we are on that.....ummmm well, it is based on Zazu, so this clip might help...but really i dunno. What do you reck?

Winter hataaaa.

I aint a rare breed, there is many of us around

Hmph I don't support them in the World Cup. But Brasilia is a good pick. And what is the reason I think?

Yosef is my second pick after Kolya.

I have faith in him!

If Rog goes and Kolya, then yea fer shure Yosef FTW. Its not a happy scenario.

Some Royal British History questions now.

Oh lordy....gulp

1. Favorite Royal from the past and why? (before the 20th century)

I have always had a soft spot for the story of George VI, the reluctant King. (Who incidently your man Colin Firth is playing in a new film) - anyway, his reign was during the era of history that interests me most, and he had a stutter, and just seemed so thrown into it - just breaks me heart. I dunno.

2. Favorite Royal from the present and why?

I actually think Queenie is a good decent lady, she just seems to be caught up in the wrong family sometimes, her kids have been awful. She is in love with Phil, she just seems a nice old granny. I don't have any beef against her. To be honest, I kinda feel bad for them in a way, they get such a ribbing, and they are a little dim, but they do do a lot for people, and don't harm anyone

3. Do you remember where you were/how you reacted when Princess Diana died?

Aye, I was in bed, sleeping, my brother came in, switched on the TV, but at that stage it weren't confirmed she was dead, just that she was in an accident. Then we just watched the news for the updates. The aftermath was weirder. The whole country stopping?? WTF??

4. Who's cuter, William or Harry? sorry but it must be asked :o :p

Do I have to pick ?

5. Would you ever marry a royal if the opportunity was there?

A Russian royal :p actually some the Monaco lot aren't bad looking, but nah royalty ain't really my idea of a good time.

6. Do you like the idea of royals having the power or would you like for Britain to move into the 21st century ditch the Prime Minister and get a President?

I couldn't care less either way tbh, I won't be here :D. But no seriously, I don't believe atm in Britain there is anyone competent enough to be 'President' - and with that in mind, I think the welfare is in better hands with Queen Liz, but if she pops her clogs, we are doomed.

(I'm writing a thesis btw and have chosen to do it on Royal British History, I'm quite interested in the Tudors Dynasty so that's why I'm asking you these types of questions, it's all I can think of atm. )

I find it funny that its the rest of the world that has opinions of the Royals, and are fascinated by them, in UK we don't really think about it much, if at all.

And thanks for questions hunnybun, hope they useful :)

Oh and you likes my shoes?! hehehe I didn't get what you said in my thread.

diggin = liking
blindin = excellent

Of course, Scotland is gorgeous, cold, wet but gorgeous. I been there tonnes of times. You should go there if you like beautiful scenery. I don't know Edinburgh or Glasgow that well, I know the Highlands and some of the Isles.

I'm debating on whether I should pick Scotland as one of my destinations this summah.

Who you going for then? Cos you might think I would pick Brasilia cos of that secret dream person hehe

Hi! :wavey:

Hi Hello :wavey: Happy Marat's birthday to ya :)

No snow yet.. but they are predicting it here Thursday night. Yuck! Last week it was in the 60s F (like 18C) and then tomorrow down to 30F.. We are all half sick from the big swings.. By the way, does it not snow much in London? I guess I always had the impression that it was so cold there in the winter but maybe I was wrong?

Yea lots of Vit C for those evil temp changes. Hope you all stay well. London, does get some snow, all of the UK had a truck load a couple of weeks back, with temperatures -18 C in places. It was a freak thing though, rather than a regular occurrence. Well at least, I hope it won't become a regular thing. The year previous we had snow in Feb/Mar. Whereas this year there was a sprinkle of the white stuff on Christmas Day - wooohooo! In the north of UK, its much colder, whereas you can usually get some sense of Summer in the south....a couple of days before the rain starts  - I am being a little unfair, but it does feel like eurgh weather in Summer.

I like a lot of their songs.. I guess my favorites are "All you need is love" and "Here comes the sun".. You? What kind of music do you like in general?

Eleanor Rigby, Hey Jude, Back in the USSR, I Am The Walrus are ultimate favourites, but will happily listen to most :rocker2:

As for general music, anything really. Mostly mainstream Hip Hop, Rap and Heavy Metal. Otherwise just most things. Classical, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Rock, Electronica, etc etc. I do like instrumentals best, prefer music to lyrics. Do you have particular favourites?

If I had the money, time and child care I would definitely travel anywhere to see him. Unfortunately those 3 things never seem to some together all at once! Plus my hubby doesn't really share my enthusiasm so he hasn't agreed to a "Marat vacation" yet.. Did you get a pic with him when you saw him?

Need to keep the job then, to keep the dream alive :p I dragged my mama and step pa to Bercy with me, to induct them into Marat appreciation. They jumped on board willingly, I think the bonus of Paris made the deal. No pic  - I wasn't sure of the protocol for pic taking at Bercy. But I think faced wit him up close, I would have pulled a stupid face, said something moronic, or most likely turned into a puddle. So it was probs a blessing

To be honest I would probably not work at all if we didn't need the extra income. I loved being the stay at home mom. I know it sounds old fashioned but it was fun! Plus almost all the moms we know are not working so there was always someone to have lunch or a play date with.. Alas, the $15K per year school tuition for each child is preventing this from happening at the moment. I mean we could make it work if I quit but we would have to cut out a lot of stuff that I don't want to give up!

Awww but that shows that you are a good mama. I don't think it is old fashioned, infact thats how I hope to do it, if the finances allow. I shall just have to find a lovely man who is rich ;) Is your work quite good about letting you have flexi hours - so you can attend important kiddie things?

Hehehe, anything things in particular? Shoes? Handbags?

Thanks! :hugs: They did stay with grandparents. Neither set lives here though so my parents came for the first half of the week and my husband's came for the second. I think everyone was glad when we got back!

And I expect little Shelby was jumping off the walls when you came up the driveway no?

Sound like you travel a lot. Have you ever been to the states?

Shamefully (?) I have never been out of Europe. There is sooo much to do in Europe, that really one would be set for life. But I do want to venture further afield. Maybe next year, I will finally get to Cuba and Argentina. And then do some of the US on the way home. I would love to see New Orleans, Savannah, and a loooooong shop in NYC. Then the year after I will turn left out of Heathrow/Charles De Gaulle and go to Australia. This is expensive dreaming, but ahh well. Have you been to Europe? If yes, where, and what was your favourite? If no, would you like to?

First of all WOW! You are really fluent in a lot of languages.. So can you understand what Marat is saying in his Russian press?? :hearts: And second, how did you get partial amnesia?? :awww:

Well I was but not anymore :bigcry: - it will come back hopefully. I barely understand what Marat says in English  - I get about 2% of his Russian, he does mumble alooot though innit. Maybe I would understand more, if I could concentrate on the words rather than his face :o

ummm I don't really wanna go into details here, but I had a psychological trauma which caused the amnesia.

Really? I must admit that I think both are sooooo cute! Maybe it's just the American infatuation with royals since we have none..

Aye the love/want what you don't have syndrome. I am trying to think of something American that Europeans want....Obama maybe

Will answer the bonus question below :p

Hey Maya How and where have you been? Hope all is well with you. Happy New Year

Gracias, to you too!

Inspired no?Oh yeah. I have an embarrassingly high level of interest in fashion. :o
(1) How about you? (2) And do you view it as art?

So far, cos there are many more I want to visit, I will say Paris, no Roma, no Paris...oh I can't choose between the two. Those two,Good choice.

Btw, Docs say I should get it all back at some time - no fear but its pretty sad Wow, that is so interesting. Well, both tragic and interesting.
(3) Are there specific kinds of things that you don't remember, or is it random memory loss?

English 10/10 now 9/10
French 9/10 now 4/10
Italian 9/10 now 3/10
Spanish 4/10 now 0.5/10
Russian 8/10 now 1/10
German 5/10 now 0.5/10(4) How did you learn Italian, French and Russian so well, do you have relatives there?
Great list. :)

As for new languages, if I can get those five back to fluency, and add Sicilian Italian, and South American Spanish - I will be happy enough. If I was gonna be adventurous I would add Portuguese.Sicilia. :inlove:
You won't have much problem with Portuguese if you're fluent in Italian and Spanish, it'll come very easily. :)

Here is an example of it.

ls4MDuBrXSII must be mad, but I absolutely love it. :D

a) there is a river and rock cliff in France, that I visited in childhood. It remains my favourite place. Its called Roque St Christophe. It is so ethereal and just reminds you how finite your time is, and how young you are in the sense of time. It was summer, and we canoed along the river, and then visited the caves. It is like something out of Lord of the Rings.(5) Sound beautiful, which part of France is it in?

I think the quaint is beautiful, so like in Paris, finding a village type atmosphere in the middle of such a big city, is beautiful to me. Montmartre being a perfect example. London, is a little like that, it has pockets of small world charm, but I always got the feeling it was part of something larger, whereas in Paris you feel you are in a hamlet. Anyway, that what i love about cities, because the architecture is amazing, the characters ever present, and the sense of community is at large, you can take what is assumed a wrong turn, and you find some wonderful piece of sculpture or a tiny bookshop.(6) How about your favourite place in London?

Ooooh, well I like pretty and girly, so Alberta Ferretti, Miu Miu or Marc Jacobs. Chloe under McCartney & Philo was gorgeous. Dolce & Gabbana does gorgeous dresses, Armani does elegant lines, and have always admired Alexander McQueen for his vision.I liked Chloe too. :yeah:

Louboutin is hard to beat no? But Uggs and Havaianas are pretty good tooUhm...

Shockingly bad, warm water, soap and then some Vitamin E cream.(7) What kind of soap?
You have Lush in the UK, soaps like theirs? (I heart Lush a lot)

Storm Tree by Annie Brigman

http://www.leegallery.com/images/brigman/Annie%20Brigman_The%20Storm%20Tree.jpgBeautiful. The tones are exactly in my taste, love it. :)

What do you reck?

vifVEg7NepI&feature=relatedYou didn't realize till now? :D
I've only seen Lion King once, and that was in the cinema, so I really don't remember the characters. :o

a)Love the colour, would look gorgeous wit a tan, and like the round toe, and the suede.
b)Don't like the buckles, and soles look rubbery?
c)I wouldn't wanna
d)see above
Overall 3/10Yeah, soles are rubber, I dislike that too. I'd give them about a 5 overall.

a)GORGEOUS. I love these, these are my faves. They look very vintage, and have an interesting cone heel. And they are pink
b)They are still high heels
c)I would definitely wear these
d)I wouldn't if they buggered up my dodgy knee, but thats all.
Overall 8/10I love those too. :) They're Topshop btw.

a)smart and elegant, chic.
b)a bit plain jane, despite the corsage
c)might look cute with a suit or smart dark denims.
d)the spike heel,
Overall 6/10My score too. They have a good silhouette, but I'd get rid of the corsage, added things bother me.

a) ummmmm.....
b) yellow, zig zags, yellow, shiny leather
c) wouldn't
d) sorry me not like, they just not girly, and thats my style
Overall 0/10No love for McQueen's shoes?
I'd never wear them, too bright for me, but I love looking at them. 7/10

a)very cute
b)tall
c)love the colour contrast
d)way too tall, and not sure about the slingback.
Overall 6/10I like the general cut of those shows too, I have similar ones.
Found a pic, it's these (http://i443.photobucket.com/albums/qq159/lululu120/th_topshop2.jpg).
They're really heavy, you have to get used to it, but once you do, they're :inlove: So long as you're doing only a moderate amount of walking, of course.

Thanks for your questions hun - I have used my pic limit, but I am smiling and hugging lol:lol:

I've numbered the current questions for you, more in the next post, no more pics left.

I love number 2 and number 6. :hearts: Especially 6! ;)

:Zaz:
01-28-2010, 11:57 PM
I like most all music except country and rap. Some of the rap lyrics are funny but I wouldn't listen to it all the time.. I am a child of the 80s so I like that kind of music a lot, too! :p

Dire Straits, Wham!, Duran Duran, UB40, New Order, Billy Idol, Culture Club, The Smiths, Dead or Alive etc etc - basically its The Wedding Singer soundtrack I am listing

I usually only work about 20-25 hours a week and they are so nice about it. I can pretty much work anytime I want as long as I get everything done. That's one reason why I hate to give it up. I would probably never find anything this easy again... And you should totally find a rich man when you decide to settle down. Makes everything much easier! ;)

I'll try  - I got paranoid the other day about age and money and stuff and started looking at pensions :tape:

Yes and Yes plus really cute clothes for the kids, dinners out, my cleaning lady, nice vacations, etc.. Not necessities but nice.

They are necessities in the sense that it makes people happy, so in some senses vital. I mean I don't need an ipod, but it sure makes life better :)

She was so cute when we got home.. jumping up and down. I really missed her too. :)

Awwww, bless her. Would you ever be a two dog person, or you got enough on already?

I have been a few times. I spent the summer after I graduated from college backpacking there with some sorority sisters. We went to almost all the western European countries. It was amazing! I really loved the south of France and Italy. Hubby and I also spent a month traveling in Spain about 10 years ago but you know it wasn't my favorite..

That sounds real fun wit the girls, did you travel by train through Europe alot? Or did you hire car? Spain is very different, you should try an alternative bit of it, and without a doubt you will find it a contrast to the part you visited, but I guess that is true for anywhere really

And by the way, I can't imagine why any European would want to visit here! We have a fraction of the history that you guys see every day. I think I would spend much time in the Carribean though if I could! :) And New Orleans is fun, too.

You have some beautiful country though, fascinating changes, desert, sub tropical, sub artic climates. Mountainous regions, beaches, forest, volcanoes, I mean you get the Grand Canyon, then Miami beaches, New England, just so much contrast. Its nice. Be proud!

I'm so sorry..

Thank you  - I am fine now, generally happy as larry just can't remember anything lol :) - that makes it sad, knowing that you know/knew something and just can't get at it, also the winter is eurgh hehe

OK. This is not my spotlight thread!! So here are a few more questions to you.

YAY questions :bounce: but I like getting to know someone too :D

1. Do you currently have a boyfriend/significant other?

Nope

2. Do you like wine? If so red or white?

I used to work in a wine shop, but never really got into wine. I prefer red to white. But don't drink either. I prefer some dark rum :p

3. In which decade were you born?

80's :rocker2:

4. What are your favorite clothing shops?

I buy a lot online, cos its just more relaxed, and nice to get parcels in the post - but I also shop for vintage alot, so go to market and second hand stores a bit.

But mainstream, umm for basics Gap for vests, Urban Outfitters, All Saints, Levi's for jeans, Adidas for skivs, American Apparel, Benneton, Agnes b, Vanessa Bruno. I think I will stop now.

5. Do you watch women's tennis? If so which players do you like?

I don't really follow the women's much, I'll watch a bit during GS, but I don't really root for anyone. I want to see Dina do well, cos family loyalty and all, and I like some of them as people like Lena, Marion Bartoli, Laura Robson, Maria Kiri, Gisela, Venus - but game wise its a bit eurgh. No real style like in the men's game IMO. I used to watch Graf when i was a kiddiewink, she had style.

Thanks for your questions again.

Gracias, to you too!

Oh yeah. I have an embarrassingly high level of interest in fashion.
(1) How about you? (2) And do you view it as art?

I do view it as art, and fashion photography I consider art. It does preoccupy things a little, if I look at Jack Vetriano prints I will study the outfits and style rather than the subjects  I mean Galliano, Vivienne Westwood, Roland Mouret, Dior or Alexander McQueen, his first show with the masks was visionary and this he did:
Cou04-vOZx8&feature=related
they are more artists and creators than someone who piles plastic boxes in the Tate and claims its art, or Tracey Emin's bed. Sorry just my opinion.

If I always look at peoples clothes, I don't necessarily judge people on it, but I do like to look at it. I love the 30/40's era. Those dresses were just wonderful, and the style is just so polished. I love the 70's hippy vibe too, I am pretty eclectic I don't follow one style, if I see a celeb I will look at their clothes, and style, especially Kate Moss or someone like that. Oscar's red carpet, is good viewing, and the fashion pages for sure. I don't think I would wanna be involved in the industry but as an observer, its wonderful. I want to learn dress making too.

Which do you like? Whose show do you look forward to seeing?

Wow, that is so interesting. Well, both tragic and interesting.
(3) Are there specific kinds of things that you don't remember, or is it random memory loss?

I have about 30-40% recall of events from 18-27, and its random, its just like a wall was built round that time, and sometimes, if triggered by something, events will leak out, like with the passive language thing. But generally there is just nothing. Just gotta knock the wall down. Got a hammer I can borrow? :p

(4) How did you learn Italian, French and Russian so well, do you have relatives there?
Great list. :)

I studied Italian at university, and for part of my course we had to chose a language with a completely different alphabet to the Roman alphabet, it was to replicate language learning as if you were a child, completely from scratch, so the options were Greek, Chinese or Russian. And I chose Russian. And at that time I had no knowledge of Marat, it was just lucky haha. But I do have relatives in France, and I spent every summer in France as a child, have spoken it since I was 5.

Sicilia. :inlove:
You won't have much problem with Portuguese if you're fluent in Italian and Spanish, it'll come very easily. :)

Have you been to Sicilia? Is it is as beautiful as I imagine it to be?

(5) Sound beautiful, which part of France is it in?

In the Dordogne, near to Perigord....off to find a small map

http://www.simply-perigord.com/dordogne_map

(6) How about your favourite place in London?

ummmmm......I loved visiting Richmond Park, and used to take walks round Bishops Park everyday (incidently where the filmed some of the film The Omen -original version) - I used to walk a lot in London, used to walk past Queens every day too. I think I will say that Hammersmith and Barnes is my favourite place - just cos of association, I had some amazing times around there, with my best mate, fell in love, did everything for the first time round there. It was one of the best times of my life. Its not pretty particularly but the river is right there, pubs along the riverside and you can see the boat race go past. It was just really fun times.

(7) What kind of soap?
You have Lush in the UK, soaps like theirs? (I heart Lush a lot)

hehehe, I love that you walk down the highstreet and you can smell the Lush shop from the other end of the street hehehe, but nah its not a Lush soap  It's urm just Dove plain jane soap

Beautiful. The tones are exactly in my taste, love it. :)

What are your art tastes in general? Sculpture, photography, paint, installation, pencil, ???

You didn't realize till now? :D
I've only seen Lion King once, and that was in the cinema, so I really don't remember the characters.

I am slooooooow :o - but you should definitely rewatch The Lion King, its Hamlet reworked, you know how some people have Sound of Music as there life philosphy, the film of their childhood etc etc. Well Lion King was mine, Disney did good there :yeah:

I love those too. :) They're Topshop btw.

I'll be off to Topshop then;)

EDIT: just checked and they sold out in my size

No love for McQueen's shoes?
I'd never wear them, too bright for me, but I love looking at them. 7/10

luuuuuuurve McQueen, but not them sorry.

I like the general cut of those shows too, I have similar ones.

They're really heavy, you have to get used to it, but once you do, they're :inlove: So long as you're doing only a moderate amount of walking, of course.

ooooh they are niiiiice, and not so ridiculously tall. I like the Mary Jane style alot, and patent leather, I have some pink ones, which are a blatant rip off of these Miu Miu ones, but I literally can't move in them. So its taxis all the way ;)

8. How many times have you visited Rome?

I spent a week there once on one vacation, fell in love forever :inlove:. Then two summers later, I spent the whole summer in Italy, so kept going back and forth, to Rome, as well as Lazio and Umbria. It was the Euro Cup summer in 2000, so Italy was mad for it, and I left the day before the final, it was gutting. It would have been amazing to be there for the match.

9. Have you been to any national parks?

ummm...

Lake District N.P
Cairngorms N.P
Loch Lomond and The Trossachs N.P
Dartmoor
Brecon Beacons
Yorkshire Dales
The Alpine N.P's I guess
and the place above in Perigord, that is a N.P

10. Favourite book by a British author?

wow thats impossible to narrow down there are soooo many but number 1 is:

A.A. Milne - Winne The Pooh & House at Pooh Corner

worthy mentions though too
Roald Dahl - most of them
Joanne Harris - Five Quarters of the Orange & Chocolat
P.G Wodehouse - Jeeves series
Thomas Hardy - FFTMC
Jane Austen - Sense & Sensibilty
Rudyard Kipling - Just So Stories
David Nobbs - The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin
Elizabeth Gaskell - North & South

Hey Hunnybun - still as silent as the grave?? Feel better will ya - otherwise its someone else to worry about

You should make it fashion thread, and then i can ask bout handbags, cos i need to find a new one :p

As for your choices - are you doing more shopping??

I like the brown booties a whole lot, gorgeous colour, like cocoa powder, like the creases too, adds a funky dimension :yeah: me likey. Are they UK available?

Blue Denim ones - not really me, too tall, very busy what with the cut outs, and gold buckles, but I imagine on the right person I would change my opinion. But as they are nah.

The black peep toes, I would like more if they weren't peep toe. If they were like shoe boots, but they are hovering between shoe and boot and it makes it confused.

Over the knee boots reminds me off Pretty Woman. The film caught me at an influential time obviously  - on someone with legs up to the skies, then they look ok, but on a short arse its just wrong.

Do you like these?

I'm glad you think that way too. :D I definitely view fashion as art, on the higher levels particularly.
I love that you posted that show, I was so fascinated with that when it came out, it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. :sobbing: I get goosebumps every time I see it. Alexander McQueen is my favourite designer definitely. And he always has an incredible choice of music, almost exactly my taste.
I just kinda had a problem with Kate Moss doing it, but it's just so good, I got over it.
(Kate Moss...I do not understand the world's fascination with this woman at all)

I want to learn dress making too.I like the 30s/40s era too. The 20s I don't like at all though, don't like the silhouette. I don't get the flapper appeal.

Which do you like? Whose show do you look forward to seeing?Oh no, don't get me started.
I love McQueen and Galiano most. I'm much more a spectator than a user and their flare for drama really appeals to me, as I see fashion more as an art show. I definitely love drama and tension in fashion. I love Westwood, though honestly more for herself than for her creations, she has such an involving spirit. Of the more mainstream ones, Oscar de la Renta. I like Theyskens too, he has great ideas. Have you seen the Alice in Wonderland photos with Vodianova? Gorgeous stuff. Theyskens was the art director for them.
Okay, I'll go find it, if you haven't seen them yet, you must now.

Vodianova and Theyskens

John Galliano (the Queen of Hearts) and Alexis Roche (the King)

Also I really like Junya Watanabe(SS10 is great :worship:).

I have about 30-40% recall of events from 18-27, and its random, its just like a wall was built round that time, and sometimes, if triggered by something, events will leak out, like with the passive language thing. But generally there is just nothing. Just gotta knock the wall down. Got a hammer I can borrow? Actually, I do know of something. Have you ever read about regression therapy?

Have you been to Sicilia? Is it is as beautiful as I imagine it to be?Haven't been yet, no. :awww: But I imagine it to really beautiful.

In the Dordogne, near to Perigord....off to find a small map

http://www.simply-perigord.com/dordogne_mapI was in France for about a month, in the nearby Poitou-Charentes region, that part of France is gorgeous. :)

ummmmm......I loved visiting Richmond Park, and used to take walks round Bishops Park everyday (incidently where the filmed some of the film The Omen -original version) - I used to walk a lot in London, used to walk past Queens every day too. It was just really fun times.Taking notes for when I visit London. :D

What are your art tastes in general? Sculpture, photography, paint, installation, pencil, ???Uhm, this is going to sound so cliche :help:, but I don't have set tastes, I just like what seams to speak to me on some level.
(1)How about you?

I'll be off to Topshop then

EDIT: just checked and they sold out in my size Yeah, it was a sale item. :(

ooooh they are niiiiice, and not so ridiculously tall. I like the Mary Jane style alot, and patent leather, I have some pink ones, which are a blatant rip off of these Miu Miu ones, but I literally can't move in them. So its taxis all the way
I love the Mary Jane cut too, one of my favourites when done well.
(2)How tall are the tallest heels you own?

I spent a week there once on one vacation, fell in love forever.
No wonder you got hooked on Italy then, that must have been a huge emotional high. I guess that's also where you picked up the love for Italian league footballers. :p

Love everything about it, very tall, but have to give 8/10 Love the suede, but I don't like the style as much as above. I get that they are almost identical, but nah not for me. 2/10 - for the suede and colour.I love how they're almost identical shoes, but you give one an 8 and the other a 2. That shows a great perception of detail. :yeah:

Love the colour, gorgeous colour. Why on earth did they put that bow on the front? Its just soooo out of place with the whole shoe. Looks mad. Take the bow of and its a 7, with the bow its a 2. Weird designer.I was thinking that myself too. A brown wide flat bow on pink patent shoes, wth?

Flats - I loooooove flats. These are very very cute, infact I might go look at Miss S webby.....*trundles off*(3)Found anything else good?

*distracted on website by these* GORGEOUS, crinkled leather 9/10My favourites too, 9/10 for sure. :worship:
If they were full boots, 9.7/10.

Colour great, suede great, style meh. 6/10. Sorry JD Don't like either. 4/10

Thanks for the questions Maya, you ask such varied and interesting ones I will go find some shoe pics for us all to vote and discuss. We should do handbags too Oh no, not the bags... :scared:
I have a shoe fascination, but a bag obsession. :o

more in the next...

Alright since this has officially become the shoe thread here are some I want your opinion on. :p

http://www.forever21.com/images/large/67252354-02.jpg
Like these, great warm colour, good cut. Not on jeans though, too boring.
6/10

http://www.forever21.com/images/large/56753044-04.jpgDenim for shoes is a bit of a questionable choice. :p
Like the cut though, if they were of a different material, and with bigger buckles, I think you could pull them off really well. :yeah:

http://www.forever21.com/images/large/69873892-01.jpgMeh. Not very interesting.
What do you think of over the knee boots?
http://www.forever21.com/images/large/71611909-01.jpgI like them, they remind me of French Rev. era men's fashion, which I adore. :D
But since they're basically a masculine concept, you have to be at least about 1.72m tall, so that's a no for me. :bigcry:
But if you're tall, they'd look great on you.
Not these though. 3/10

Look at me being so critical, I know.

Do you like these?

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n99/zazuinc/33106070_z1.jpg
I like the cut, but the colour is a bit too washed out and tricky to maintain. You'll get visible scratches on them within 5 minutes of putting them on.
5/10

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n99/zazuinc/30160210_z1.jpgDifficult colour, too much ruffle :p. 3/10
Btw, you reck you can wear brown leather shoes with a black outfit or be best having black shoes?Sure you can. Just put one more detail in dark brown to even it out and don't wear your hair too complicated.

About the shoes. I have just ordered these boots to wear tucked into skinny jeans. Do you (and everyone else in the shoe discussion) think that this "look" is too young for a +30 year old mom??

http://www.thefryecompany.com/ProductImages/28520091095351577329TAN_multi.jpg
Nope, not at all. And they're gorgeous. :hearts: 8/10

Aaaand more questions:

4. Favourite Italian song, or singer?
5. Do you like opera?
6. What's your favourite pair of shoes that you own?
7. Favourite shot to watch, on the entire tour, ever?

Gretchen.

Ok first Maya I love those Alice in Wonderland pictures! :hearts:
Natalia Vodianova is one of my favorite models, her complexion is gorgeous.

Like the cut though, if they were of a different material, and with bigger buckles, I think you could pull them off really well. :yeah:

 There were similar ones that weren't denim, I own a couple of other pairs that are also similar, I seem to be easily attracted to shoes with buckles.

I like them, they remind me of French Rev. era men's fashion, which I adore. :D
But since they're basically a masculine concept, you have to be at least about 1.72m tall, so that's a no for me. :bigcry:

Not these though. 3/10

I'm 1.74m tall ;) I like them tons, I think I might get them.

Nope, not at all. And they're gorgeous. :hearts: 8/10

I agree they are very nice. (:

Well I wouldn't mind having another but Shelby is getting pretty old so I don't know how she would feel about having a young puppy in the house...

Not to sway your opinion but Harry was 10 when we got Gussy, and they had five or so years together and became real bessies, Gussy even went into mourning when Harry died  but :awww:

I attached a picture of the two of them, when Gussy was still a wee puppy :D

We did the train - rail passes. Also stayed in the hostels mostly. In a few cities we splurged for hotels.. It was so much fun. I would love to do it again - but on a better budget! :p About Spain, we did go to a few smaller cities and I did love Marbella but it wasn't as nice as the south of France IMO..

Sounds like great craic altogether, did you speak the languages or just wing it? Well as a almost Frenchie and complete Francophile, I agree that you can't beat France :)

PLain or mixed? I am very partial to frozen rum drinks. ;)

I ain't fussy, but my favourite is a Cuba Libre - :worship: Heaven in a glass

Just the right age for Marat. :D

A year minus 15 days younger than him, but someone told me he likes older women

About the shoes. I have just ordered these boots to wear tucked into skinny jeans. Do you (and everyone else in the shoe discussion) think that this "look" is too young for a +30 year old mom??

oooh are they Frye? Love Frye boots :inlove: I like them alot, and you can certainly wear them, I don't intend to overhaul my wardrobe next year just because I turn 30. You can be a yummy mummy or a MILF !! :p

re. Shelby in the snow - sooo cute :hearts: Does she like the snow? Is it unusual for you to have snow? so does she go exploring? How is it for you? Has it eased up a little? We got freak snow yesterday too

I'm glad you think that way too. I definitely view fashion as art, on the higher levels particularly.

And the use of the Schindlers List soundtrack was just  IMO.

As for Kate Moss - as a clothes horse, she is unbeatable, but outside of that, yea I don't get it - the Pete Doherty thing, amongst others WTF?. She does manage to trail blaze and push boundaries though, which I respect.

I like the 30s/40s era too. The 20s I don't like at all though, don't like the silhouette. I don't get the flapper appeal.

No I have never understood the 20's as a fashion era either. Unless you were a plank, straight up and down, you would just suffer in those dresses, and the bobs, and the head dresses - bizarre.

Oh no, don't get me started.
I love McQueen and Galiano most. I'm much more a spectator than a user and their flare for drama really appeals to me, as I see fashion more as an art show. I definitely love drama and tension in fashion. I love Westwood, though honestly more for herself than for her creations, she has such an involving spirit. Theyskens was the art director for them.
Okay, I'll go find it, if you haven't seen them yet, you must now.

Oooh I forgot to mention Tom Ford - WOW. And Gianni Versace was total drama, I wouldn't go for his clothes, but his shows were always a must see. I am not liking Donatella so much, she seems to just regurgitate old ideas. And Givenchy is incredible too.

Exquisite, just remarkable. I love Natalia and the photographer did incredible there, the colours are just immense. Good call Maya :yeah: I don't have pictures but some of the portraits done for the Millenium Vogue issue were exceptional.

Actually, I do know of something. Have you ever read about regression therapy?

Aye, its very very expensive, but maybe something for the future if it doesn't lift of its own accord. But thanks for thinking

I was in France for about a month, in the nearby Poitou-Charentes region, that part of France is gorgeous.

Gorgeous, was this recently? Do you like France on the whole or prefer other countries?

Taking notes for when I visit London.

Ahhh are you coming soon?? I have loads of little inlets and secret places I could tell ya about, I lived there on and off for about 3 years :) but Nadine lives there still so she can probably do better.

Uhm, this is going to sound so cliche, but I don't have set tastes, I just like what seams to speak to me on some level.
(1)How about you?

I am thinking up questions on this to ask ya in your thread (A) - but I am the same, no fixed medium.

(2)How tall are the tallest heels you own?

ummmm I shall take a pic and get back to you :)

No wonder you got hooked on Italy then, that must have been a huge emotional high. I guess that's also where you picked up the love for Italian league footballers. :p

you know about that  Has my Totti love escaped?

(3)Found anything else good?

I got sidetracked with dresses, and just spent my rent on a load of clothes

Oh no, not the bags... :scared:
I have a shoe fascination, but a bag obsession. :o

ooooh yay, real scope for mooooore discussions!!

Look at me being so critical, I know.

hehehe :yeah:

Aaaand more questions:

4. Favourite Italian song, or singer?

no lo so, I don't think I know of any. Or can't remember :p

5. Do you like opera?

Not really, I went to see Madame Butterfly, it was ok, but it didn't get me, like Opera does for some. I prefer my music wordless, if you know what I mean. Do you like?

6. What's your favourite pair of shoes that you own?

Everyday is just some £3 flipflops, but for more exciting occasions I have some Repetto pumps, which are a kind of midnight blue, which I adore. I wish I had bought another pair, for when these wear out.

7. Favourite shot to watch, on the entire tour, ever?

I love volleys, because its so hard now to find a good volleyer cos the game has changed, so I love to see them. But a BHDTL, is pretty droolsome from any player.

Look a bit slippery to me, but could be cute with the right ensemble. Or maybe if the stitching was a different colour or less prominent

And since it is now officialy the fashion thread here is a tote bag that I found quite cute (=

http://images.urbanoutfitters.com/is/image/UrbanOutfitters/17504531_011_d?$richdetail$

Love the colour, the contrast of the cream and tan, and the front pockets, would take the strap off though, and wear it in the crook of the arm, not over the shoulder. Off to Urban Outfitters now, goodbye February's rent ;)

I speak a little Spanish and one of my friends spoke a little French. It helped but really we were always able to find someone who spoke English if we needed help. I am impressed at how young the kids learn English in Europe (non Brits of course!) and how almost everyone can speak a little. We have really dropped the fall on foreign language in the US.

UK is similar, languages are complusory in school up to a certain age, but peoples application is pretty dire, I am generalising hugely here, but some people think there is no need to speak other languages because most people speak English. I don't like this view, I think its disrespectful to not even try when you are in the country.

I think he likes all women.. ;)

Ahhhh well that puts me back in the game, along with millions of others

They are Frye.. and thanks!

I love Frye, I bought some off ebay, and live in them in winter, if uggs are not suitable.

She likes it! :D It is pretty unusual.. We usually only get 1-2 snows a year and normally it is gone the next day. This was ice too though so it is just now melting. Soooo ready for summer!

Did you have a good weekend?? I am sooooooo ready for summer time. Fingers crossed I will be in France by then too :woohoo:

1. How are you going to celebrate your bday - it's coming up right?

No, its just been. It was the 12th Jan. And it was a washout cos we were snowed in for 14days. So no pressies either :(

2. Are you working on a novel?

Nah, I started writing novels, and have about 7 unfinished maniscripts. But then took a view, and realised that film was more my medium, so now I am working on screenplays - I am a very visual person, I work in pictures, rather than words - in my mind, so I dunno it just seems logical . I also am attempting childrens books, which is fun.

3. Did you always want to be a writer - like when you were growing up in school?

No I wanted to be an architect for a while, but a teacher at school told me that my maths and physics were no where near good enough to study at a higher level, and they were essential to university architecture courses. So then I 'reverted' to writing, but I have always been writing. Its a family thing, my mama is a writer, and my brother - so it was a natural step. Saying all this though, I expect I will end up working at the supermarket or being a waitress.

4. Which Marat "look" do you like best? (ie. I like some long-ish curls (not like the mop in 2006 though) and a clean shave)

I am actually a huge fan of the bun, down it was questionable, but scraped back :inlove: - other than that, clean shaven is exquisite too, but I generally prefer my men a little scruffy, so a bit of stuble and hair aray is Marat perfection. Such as Wimbles 08, perfect hair, a bit tufty around the jaw - heaven on a plate. But I'd be lying if I didn't say that any which way he comes is good for me. Ooooh actually I love the buzzcut too, Give us your fave ones in return :p (any excuse for Marat pics ;))

sooo these looks

5. Does your family live in England?

I have family all over the globe, some in Australia, some in US, some in South Africa, some in Ireland, some in Scotland and some in France. But my immediate family, as in ma, pa and bro yea they all in England  They seem to love it, weirdos :p

6. Do you think skinny jeans are flattering?

If you are a little thick of thigh, then no, unless you are gigantic tall that is. But if you have the legs, then yep they are very stylish. Do you wear 'em alot? I take it you have a wicked figure - after two bebe's too, kudos :)

Happy (very) belated birthday Mia! :aparty: :bdaycake: Hope you had a fab birthday, and hope the rest of the year will be full of happy moments.

I'm very late to the party, but better late than never, no? :smooch:

Right, so where to start? :p

1) Since there's a lot of shoe talk (:hearts:), I want your opinion on Ugg boots. I have a love-hate relationship with them, I don't own a pair yet, but they look so warm and comfy (at the same time they seem to be the Chav's favourite). What's your favourite type?

2) How are you?

3) Are you addicted to any games? What type of game would keep you hours playing it?

4) I'm really into foreign movies these days. I watched "Maria full of grace" the other day and loved the brilliant acting and story. Any other foreign movies you'd recommend?

5) What do you do when you can't go to sleep?

6) Starbucks or Costa? :p

7) You can choose any monument/building in the world to own for free. Which would you choose and why?

8) What cheers you up?

9) Have you ever had a foe turn into a friend?

10) Since there's a lot of fashion talk here too, who was best dressed at the Grammys? Worst?

Gretchen.

Happy (very) belated birthday Mia! :aparty: :bdaycake: Hope you had a fab birthday, and hope the rest of the year will be full of happy moments.

Thank you so much sweetie. I am just soooooo excited you are back "home". :woohoo: :bigwave: How are you? Have you been doing OK? You well on the way to being Doctor Dine yet?

I'm very late to the party, but better late than never, no? :smooch:

Always welcome

Right, so where to start?

1) Since there's a lot of shoe talk (:hearts:), I want your opinion on Ugg boots. I have a love-hate relationship with them, I don't own a pair yet, but they look so warm and comfy (at the same time they seem to be the Chav's favourite). What's your favourite type?

Ok well, seeing as you too and fro on your opinion, I shall be constructive for ya.

Cons:-
They are made from sheep
They make your ankles look huuuuuuuge
Everybody has them
Without socks, they get real stinky
They don't work well in the rain - they get spotty, and sodden

Pros:-
You know when you are all tucked up in bed, and cosy as. well thats what your feet feel like alllllll the time.
You know when you walk on a really soft carpet, thats what its like for your feet. They are like a party for your feet - I suggest you try some on, walk round the store, you'll catch me drift. :=)
There are loads of different colours and styles, so you don't have to be a lemming.

I have three pairs, black, brown, and lilac, in the original style, and I love 'em. I don't know what I did before them. But they can be 'chavvy' if you wear them wrongly, i.e wit the wrong outfit, and there is definitely a time and place for them.

Why does Maya hate them???

2) How are you?

I am doing grand, thank you hun   And you?

3) Are you addicted to any games? What type of game would keep you hours playing it?

Computer game? I don't play computer games, never had a X box, PS2, Sega woteva...

Board games, ummmm Monopoly is ok, but me and my buds always had wicked fun with Pictionary, ooooh god it was funny. And we played once, when we had all tried to give up smoking, god, we got sooo angry with each other. Yelling, 'just look what I'm fucking drawing. Say what you fucking see' etc etc. We all decided, maybe we should go have a ciggie  But yea Pictionary, good times :yeah:

4) I'm really into foreign movies these days. I watched "Maria full of grace" the other day and loved the brilliant acting and story. Any other foreign movies you'd recommend?

Oh Lord, don't start me off, I could rabbit on for hours.... Any particular language, or will you be subtitling?

For starters I would suggest

The Three Colours trilogy
La Vita e Bella
Il Postino
The Diving Bell and The Butterfly
9 Rota

5) What do you do when you can't go to sleep?

Come on MTF - its worse than heroin this place.

6) Starbucks or Costa? :p

Caffe Nero actually, but out of those two Costa I guess, I have issues wit Starbucks.

7) You can choose any monument/building in the world to own for free. Which would you choose and why?

I was pretend house buying online one insomniac night, and came across this farmhouse in Toscana, it was an old Abbey, and the architecture was just yum. It was set amidst an olive grove, and had peach trees and a pear orchard too. It was just perfect. Also, it was a wreck inside, so would need doing over, and I just had so many thoughts. It cost bout £500,000 though.

Known buildings though, that would take real thought, too much choice. Will get back to you :=)

8) What cheers you up?

Usual suspects: Mama, chocolate, sunshine, girly movie, laughing!

9) Have you ever had a foe turn into a friend?

ummmmm, yea actually, there was a girl at school, all through the lower and middle school I hated her with a fiery vengence, and vice versa. Then in sixth form, she was looking for someone to go for a BOFA with (BOFA was code for going for a fag, literally - Breath Of Fresh Air) and I was just mooching, so we went, then we became real bessies. It was weird. We never spoke about hating each other, it didn't seem to matter anymore.

10) Since there's a lot of fashion talk here too, who was best dressed at the Grammys? Worst?

I thought most of them looked pretty awful tbh, this was nice Marissa Miller, in Vintage Gucci :worship:

OK first of all double :hearts: for the pictures! Your labs are so beautiful - I can't imagine anything more adorable than a sweet little lab puppy. :inlove:

Did it change your mind a teeny tiny bit? :p

And Marat... Hope you don't mind that I "borrowed" your pic from Wimbledon for my collection!

Not at all, afterall you shared one with me months ago, remember?

I love the bun, too! And to prove it here is one of my favs from that time..
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/8751/271bfc.jpg

Oooooh niiiiiice!!! My bun pic was a bit rubbish, it doesn't show the bun very much, I just adore that pic of him, he was soooo relaxed and unguarded.

Here is my fav from the buzz cut days. Pure perfection! :p
http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3028/frenchopen20022.jpg

What a surprise...I agree :p

Of course I could go on and on but I guess then we would have to add "Marat drooling" in the title of your thread. ;)

No no, I like that idea, please continue ;)

Oh a movie writer! Cool .. So which actors/actresses will star in your first film?

My first film, probably nobodies, but the ultimate dream is to have direction by De Niro, and starring Meryl Streep and Leonardo Di Caprio starring. Pipe dreams no? :p

I am jealous that you are getting ready to move to France. Paris? And do you have friends there waiting?

Probably not Paris, more the south, I don't know for sure, just playing it by ear for now. No friends...yet :)

Have you ever met anyone from MTF in person?

No, probably will happen sometime, maybe during grass season, Nads mentioned Wimbles so

Would you like to have children one day?

I am still dreaming of baby Patrick, have always wanted a son. Hopefully it will happen, I will consider it my greatest achievement to be a mother, is that naff?

Oh and happy belated birthday! :D

Thanks so much hun  Let me know yours so I don't miss it :)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I think as its now a fashion chat as well, we should post some pics of all ours favourites in our favourite season outfits - cos I saw 2002 RG Marat, I love that outfit. All of us, JD, Amanda, Nads and Maya, and anyone else. What you reck??

Thanks for answering, Mia.

Dr Dine will have to wait 7 years. :hysteric:

What the hell was Britney thinking? Well I guess I've been asking that question for nearly a decade now. :tape: :o But yeah I love the white mini-dress too. So simple and goddess like.

Your hair is beautiful :inlove: (is yours curly too like Miley's?)

And I'm fine thanks; went to sleep like couple of hours ago for about 20 minutes - woke up - and now I can't go to sleep again. It'll be a long night.

Nearly forgot, thanks for the Ugg breakdown! :D

Worth it though no? Do you like that name? Think it will catch on?

:haha: :rolls:

Why thank you :D Aye, its curly like that, but its darker than hers is.

And I'm fine thanks; went to sleep like couple of hours ago for about 20 minutes - woke up - and now I can't go to sleep again. It'll be a long night.

Awwww, hope you get to sleep soon. I am off myself in a moment.

Nearly forgot, thanks for the Ugg breakdown! :D

No worries, you should do it though, even if you never buy a second pair, at least you know what its all about, and whether you like 'em or not, they will be useful.

Issues? What issues? :(

First off, I didn't say I hated them, I said I had issues. And secondly it ain't a personal slight on you, I know you work there, but you don't make executive decisions such as this one

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/3142711/Starbucks-wastes-23-million-litres-of-water-each-day.html

Hence the issues.

Well okis but you have nothing against the yummy drinks/food served there right? :awww:

No the food and drinks are yum scrum - I used to frequent one on Fulham Rd, Londons after half day college on a Friday, and have a mozzarella, olive and pesto panini, and a venti mocha. It was good times. That was before I found out about the water thing, but then Sparty took me for a hot chocolate there after a blood test the other week so... although i noticed they didn't do the tap running thing :p

Off to bed with a slushy romance novel :o . Busy day tomoz, Papa and Marlboros and doggies. Hope you are ok, and feeling better

:Zaz:

Yes - I had forgotten that.. The super sexy one from Wimbledon a few years back. :hearts:

aye thats the one :inlove:

Leo :hearts: Will look out for that in a few years.. ;)

:awww: I really hope it happens for you one day Mia. There is really nothing like it in the world. :)

I'll try me best on both, but thank you for the votes of confidence

OK your hair must be amazing if it looks like Miley's above. So jealous of your curls. Mine is stick straight. :(

But I expect its lovely and sleek, whereas mine gets soooo fluffy - its irritating lol

A couple more questions.
1. Which toppings do you like on your pizza?

Heaps of olives, tomatoes, peppers, onions, but only a small amount of cheese. I don't like melted cheese much.

2. What is the cheesiest concert you have ever seen?

A school concert  does that count? I haven't been to a proper concert.

3. Which TV series have you seen from start to finish?

Most british comedies, like Blackadder, The Office, Fawlty Towers etc etc. Oh US made, I have seen all the Buffy episodes, love that program. I missed most of Friends Series 8, and The Wire I only joined at series 3. I would like time to sit down and watch certain things - like Lost, Sex And The City, The Wire and stuff but c'est la vie.

How about Marat in red?
RG 2008

beautiful, and the open necked shirt and the hair is just starting to get to that Wimbles length - 2008 was a good looking year. Put next to Kolya shows how beefy he was - his chest is maaaasive

And for the bun-lover in you

The blue is delicious! :inlove: And Pico's shirt.. :tape: Can't imagine Marat in one so tight - he would look hot though..

Nah its just not his style, but he would look hella hot :hearts:

So as a writer.. What do you do all day? Work on your scripts or research or what? Such a cool thing..

Well I tend to work at night, do my research and thinking during the small hours, except when sidetracked by MTF and livestreams ;) Too much distraction in daytime with family and friends around. So I sleep during the day :o

And I think you mentioned that you walk dogs for extra money.. Anything else? Do you freelance for magazines or anything?

I do freelance typing from home, just typing other peoples stuff up real quick, I learnt touch typing at college so I am pretty speedy. As for other writing nah...it would just be too preoccupying to do other projects, I'd never get off the screenplay starting block  I am not a multi tasker type, I have to be focused and disciplined, tunnel visioned, otherwise I drift off -

Sorry for monopolizing your thread... :o

Oh don't be sorry, I love chatting wit ya , its a pity we don't coincide on times more

How bad is it that I know the lyrics to this whole song? :o :o :o

In my defence it comes on the radio like every couple of hours. :p
I'll be back in a bit with better questions.

1. Please listen to this song:

ZZE4xmYLC1E

Thoughts?

2. You are stranded on a deserted island, please pick 3 MTFers who will join you.
One of them must die :awww: You can choose how they die, either being eaten by bigfoot or drowning or a rock falls on their head, whatever.
One of them finds some natives by accident and ends up being kidnapped and has to marry the chief(woman or man, depends on who you choose)
One of them finds a boat but doesn't tell the others and sets off at sea only to have their boat destroyed. That person ends up on another deserted island with lots of monkeys and mango :D so they do end up having a good time.
And finally one gets rescued by an airplane and is safely brought back home.

Please decide the faith of the members you picked and yourself.

3.Favorite song by The Cardigans?

4.What are your top 3 songs from the 90's?

5.And to keep it fashiony: Please go to Forever21.com and find 3 shirts that you really really like. :D

Do you live with your fam? I usually on come on MTF at work.. home is too chaotic!

I do, I know its pretty shameful at my age, but I lived away from home from the age of 7-23 so I am just catching up a little  I got my go date for France though :D April 15th or so :woohoo: :rocker2:

Awww thats why we don't coincide  - how is the fam? making snowmen and stuff?

I liked it too! Looks like we have the same tastes in men and music. :p

All we now is to coincide on film tastes, and we are two peas in a pod :p

 I didn't know that! By the way I must agree about the Ke$ha song. :help: Is she from Nashville??

No clue sorry

Hope you are well. We got another 5 inches of snow here today. It's unreal! :(

Awwww sorry about that - we had sunshine, great warming rays of it, still arsing cold, but Spring is slowly springing I think :D

It's not shameful at all! I go to my parents' house every chance I get. So where did you live during ages 7-23 - and why did you move? Woo-hoo for France! Do you have a place to live?

Awww, are your parents close by? Do you have siblings too?

I was sent away for schooling, part of parents divorce conditions (its a looooong story), and then college and university. I had to move home cos of the memory thing yada yada :)

I love how 'mum' you are, asking if I have accomodation - bless you. I have a place for two weeks, la maison de mon uncle, and that should give me time to find my feet. Soooooo excited :)

We did make some snowmen. I am sick of it though. Today is my baby's 3rd birthday. They grow up so fast.

Yea the snow does loose its novelty mighty quickly doesn't it

Happy Birthday 3 y.o :aparty: :woohoo: and hug for you  But it becomes fun when they get talking and have conversations and stuff, and a bit more response or interaction (or was that really clueless?) but I can imagine it hurts, sorry . I was talking to a doggie client's owner today, and she was pretty sniffley about having to work, she has just started back, and is missing her wee laddie.

So what's your fancy?

I am surprised you even understood what I meant, my grammar is all over the place - sorry :o

Film wise - everything and anything really, I ain't snobby, but I do like a lot of European made films, French cinema particularly (surprise surprise) but I have great nostalgia for 80's Hollywood  But American 70's was a great film decade (The Godfather I & II :worship:, Taxi Driver, Star Wars etc etc)

I would love to go and have actually looked at the tickets.. The problem is that Atlantic City is far from me and it is such a hard thing for me to arrange for child care, etc when I am gone. I would be willing to do it but I am scared that if I plan the flight, hotel, etc. he will cancel.. We'll see. I am going to our little local tourney here next week. So far I only have tickets for one of the night session when Nando is playing but I will probably take my 5 year old to one of the day sessions as well. Also, hubby and I are going to a meet and greet with Maria S. He is quite excited.

Sorry I am hopeless with your geography, your country is too big :p

It would be lush to have some guarantees at least then you know it would be worth it, rather than a last minute 'wrist' injury

Maybe one day hubby can Fed-ex you to Moscow cos an exho there will almost be a definite :) I hope it happens for you though.

Have fun fun next week, don't forget if you see Jim, to kidnap him for me. I must confess I have never got the appeal of Maria - but I guess your man can have his moment, but he'll owe you.... Marat??!! :p

Do you like donuts? I just ate 2 vanilla creamed filled for my lunch. :o

:haha: good girl :yeah:

At school we used to get given the jam ones on Wednesdays religiously, it was like an event  but since school I have had about four doughnuts, its not that I don't like them, they are yum, but if I am going eat bad, I'd prefer to eat chocolate hehe

They live in the small town where I grew up - it's about 2 hours by car from me. I have a sister but she lives in Birmingham Alabama. We try to meet up often at our parents' house.

It's nice that you make a effort to stay close and meet up and bond. Family is mighty important.

Oooh boarding school. You probably got a great education. :)

Not at all, unfortunately (?) - I spent my entire time, trying to escape, and rebelling against the system. It wasn't for me - I hated it with a fiery passion, it suits some people, but not me, I have worse qualifications than people that went to state schools :o - I expect if I think about it seriously that reflects worse on me than it does on the school

You are going to have so much fun. It's good that you have family there to help you get settled. And Marat seems to come to Paris fairly often so maybe you will get to see him one day!

Aye, I will have to frequent fashion shows  He really is a bizarre creature  - Mama thinks he might tip up at Bercy one day though so who knows.

It is fun when they can talk back to you, etc.. but I really like the younger years when they want you to hold them and rock them and stuff. I know that sounds ridiculous because it is obviously easier the more independent they become but still..

Oh that won't stop for ages, if ever. You still need a mam hug even now no? But I do get it, and feel for you - sorry I can't offer some sensible advice :S do you have a camcorder or something that you can film and record these moments for yourself?

Is your client missing her dog or her child?

:haha: I don't think she is as attached to her pooch as we are to ours, she is a rescue doggie, and a sociopath (I think something evil must have happened to her, poor thing). But the cutest thing, as long as you don't sneak up behind her, happen to be male, or are a dog, or a boy, or a boy on a bike/skates. Its a nerveracking 30 mins hehe, but she loves me, and gives me the best welcome. I can't understand people who mistreat pets (or any animals) it is just evil.

Like St Elmo's fire and the "brat pack" movies? :inlove:
Would you believe I have never seen a single Star Wars movie?? My 5 year old has gotten into the Star Wars cartoon but that's the closest I have come! :o

Never seen Star Wars?? OMG! How is that even possible? - I suggest if you do, you avoid the new ones 1-3 and just go with the classics. The joys of having an older brother - years of Star wars and Indiana Jones movies. I've not seen or heard of the cartoon :o but if you like Family Guy at all, they reference Star Wars a whole lot. Huge geeky fans of the films. George Lucas gave them permission to spoof them, which you should check out too, once you've seen the originals of course :)

 Atlantic City is way north of me.. WOuld be about 18 hours if I drove. I'm sure I could get a flight but what if he didn't show?? :fiery: I don't care about seeing the others playing.. But I would love to go to Moscow and see him there.. Have always wanted to visit Russia. Have you ever been?

Lord, in 18 hours I could drive to Valencia  That puts it wholly in perspective.

Kremlin Cup woulda been magic to see wouldn't it, or the DC06 final.

Nope, never been to Russia, but its for sure on the to do list. Architecture alone is enough of a pull, but there is so much more to see and do. But not going anywhere near it in the winter

Any plans to return to Europe? Maybe when the munchkins are a bit older and can come with?

I like chocolate, too. With wine! ;)

for your anti-oxidant quota...of course

awww shame :p A bit of Tori stalking woulda been fun, trying to loose you in the metro or the bibliotheque :p But seriously...starting in Brittany and then will decide either Paris or the south :D

Who knows by Bercy, you might have a free place to lay your head ;)

what is your...

(can you tell I'm dieting ;) )

First off, why you dieting?? STOP THAT RIGHT NOW! And secondly, isn't this just torture?? You sadist you :p

These are the ideal choices, but I don't actually eat them that much, cos I'd be whale sized

Biscuit : Bourbons are pretty special, or a Jaffa Cake (not strictly a biccy I know)
Desert: Eclairs or Profiteroles are  or Chocolate Fudge Cake OMG!!
Cheese: Now this is hard...am partial to blue cheese, but proper Mozzarella - the ball kind is just :worship:
Fruit: Plums for sure :inlove:
Salad Dressing: Used to be Caesar until I found out it had anchovies in WTF??? So now its French - yum.
Breakie: Chocolate Milk and Croissant, but it usually is a cup of tea and a ciggie :o

What is the favourite item of clothing and jewellery that you own?

Both hand me downs from Mama - a leather coat from the 70's (it was funny, inside one pocket I found a scrap of paper and it turned out to be the receipt for her first date with my pa  Weird). Anyway and for my birthday she gave me a bracelet that her pa gave her, so I am totally in love with that too :)

Thanks for your questions hunny - good to chat again :)

Sorry it was a bad experience for you.. Did you at least enjoy college?

Uni was eeeh, but College was great craic - I was in London, and had great friends it was the best. Are you still in touch with friends from school/college/university??

Oh for sure.. We have first steps, first words, all of it. One of these days I will post a picture of them! ;)

Awwww thats great to hear, and do you have albums of first things, hair from first haircut, first tooth, etc etc?

Look forward to piccys :D

Me too. It's the worst kind of cruel. I always tell my family that if/when I die I want the donations to go to the Humane Society. :p

Awww thats incredibly sweet of you :yeah: last birthday and christmas My Godmother sponsored a donkey in Peru for me, and my brother a Polar bear in Norway - instead of pressies. I get little updates now and then telling me that Pablo (donkey) and Bjorn (bear) are happy as larry, and photos too

I know.. It's ridiculous I know. No brothers in my house to introduce me to it. The cartoons are on a channel here that is strictly for kids. Star Wars has made a huge comeback with the little ones.. We have Star Wars people, battleships, costumes, etc!

I guess you wouldn't know if its all the same characters and such? You'll get roped into theme birthday parties before you know it - are you prepared to be dressed as Princess Leia? :p

I would love too! It's been more than 10 years since I have been there.. And I will definitely take the kids when they are old enough. I was lucky enough to study there one summer and I hope they will do the same!

:woohoo: I hope you do, especially if you love it so.

What are your travel dreams? (besides Maratland..)

ahhh Maratland.... *daydreaming*

I should point out that I am a thorough traveller. Meaning that I want to only go to a few places but really see them, stay a long while, immerse myself fully. My brother has been round the world twice, to every continent, and wants to see all countries but never stays in one place longer than 3 or 4 days. So with that distinction made

Must see before I die:

Cuba
France - completely
Italy - completely
Sicily
Russia
Spain - more of it

Want to see if I can:

Buenos Aires
New Orleans
Australia
South Africa
Germany
Ireland

How bout you? Any wish list?

I have the worst eating habits! :o I told you what I ate for lunch.. But I regularly eat hamburgers/onion rings, pizza, steak, fried foods - and lots of dessert. My arteries are probably already clogged at age 38!

ooooh Onion rings

but you probably pretty active no? And non smoker?

Besides life is too short too be too strict and not just do what feels good - otherwise whats the point??

Why New Orleans of all the cities in America?

In no particular order:

1. French Quarter
2. Architecture
3. Music - Jazz & Blues
4. Mardi Gras
5. Food
6. Film
7. Museums & Exhibits
8. Shopping
9. History

Just seems to me a romantic eclectic place, that I'd like to experience.

OK.. forgive my ignorance but what is the difference between College and University for you guys. Here it is the same. And I had a blast when I was there.. So much a stayed for 2 extra degrees! :p I do stay in touch with a few friends/sorority sisters and with FB it has gotten easier. I see people here that I knew from highschool and college a fair amount too.:p

From my point of view - University is academic and College was more skills/trade etc - i.e I learnt I.T at College. Oh really so you have tennisy friends?? None of my RL friends like tennis

So cute! You must post the pics if you can..

Will do on next update :)

Great list - and New Orleans is a great city to visit. I would love to go to southern Italy, Greece, Phuket, Moscow.. tons of places!

Oooooh I forgot Greece - yep Greece is a goodie. Islands and Mainland :yeah:

I am pretty active - chasing around the little ones and household stuff. I used to play tennis a couple of times a week but now things are just too hectic so I don't play much at all. Hubby excercises almost every night but I just can't find the motivation. How about you - are you an excerciser? Oh and I don't smoke. I like wine, though. :p I was lucky that I never really gained weight when I was younger but now it is starting to catch up with me. What about you? 100 Lbs soaking wet?

 what is 100lbs soaking wet? lol

I am a walker and a swimmer but am not a fan of the communal exercising - gyms, aerobics classes etc etc - also don't like getting sweaty :(

When I was really little, first tennis memory, was Pat Cash climbing the stands after winning Wimbledon. So what's that.....23 years now :o gosh i am old

I'm old then as well as I have followed tennis already back then too :p

Best quality rather than my favourite - would be 2007 Wimbledon Final, (I didn't like the 08 final it just seemed strained from Federer, whereas 07 the tennis was roaring, and it was better quality IMO.)

I prefered the final 2007 too

Hopefully married, with a son, living in France, and happy. Having a film being made would be great too, but if the others happen and that doesn't, I'll be satisfied.

Is there any reason why you prefer to have a son instead of a daughter? :)

Dislike:
1) I get bored easily
2) my inability to settle
3) I have some scars which i loathe.

I hope nothing too serious happened to you where you got the scars from

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, and for asking me some questions

Doris, I apologise for being so criminally slow to reply...but I told ya I would be ;) Life got busy...but I have a spare few days atm, so je suis ici!

I prefered the final 2007 too

C'est curieux :p

Is there any reason why you prefer to have a son instead of a daughter?

I think its the heavy Italian/Irish inflection - ya know the first born should be a boy etc etc...besides girls are just too....girly ;)

I hope nothing too serious happened to you where you got the scars from

Awww thanks  ummm yea, lets not go there!!

You are welcome :) Thanks for taking the time to answer

Some more

:bounce:

1) What was your favorite book when you were a kid and what's your favourite book now?

As a kid it was To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, now its Winnie The Pooh by A.A Milne - yep I am regressing! hehe

2) What was a strange idea you had as a kid of the idea of growing up?

That I'd be taller - still waiting on that....also thats not that strange I guess, but its the only thing I remember thinking

3) If you were a dancer on Dancing with the Stars, what celebrity would you want to dance with?

Well, I'd love to say Marat, but I think he'd be a chronic dancer - I was kinda impressed by Antonio Banderas in that dance movie...Take The Lead...so maybe him.

4) What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Back in the day, professional swimmer would have been good, now...ummm.....Spook would be kinda cool.

5) Have you ever changed your opinion about a tennisplayer (either positive or negative)? If yes, what was the reason for it?

I used to loooooathe Tomas Berdych...really despise him, but a friend made me concentrate through his match whilst I was at Bercy, and I kinda was impressed. I guess seeing it live made a difference.

6) What are your favourite tournaments?

Still have a love affair with grass, even though its become slower than a snails butt. So Wimbles, Queens are up there.. Bercy I <3 and I like the Aussie stretch.

7) If you could learn the name of one anonymous MTFer, who would you choose? Why?

I think I know everyones name that I have crossed paths with  - Facebook helped lol

8) What's the one thing that goes everywhere with you when you travel?

My sense of spacial awareness :p God, that sounds so British hehe - but its true..... amount of times I have been crushed by a swarm of selfish tourists - Lordy!

9) Who do you have the best relationship with in your family?

Mama

10) If you were allowed to have anything for free from one store, what store would you pick?

Right now....an iphone from Apple....I have no mobile atm

11) What beliefs do you stand very strong for, and stand strong against?

Eeeeh - thats too tough, outside the usual suspects ie. don't kill, cheat, abuse etc...I guess the main one is Don't close yourself off to learning, whatever it is - you are never too old to learn something new about yourself and others. Narrow/closed mindedness actually really f*cks me off!

12) What is your current desktop picture?

Marat :o

13) Which 10 places of your country are a must-see when someone is visiting?

This would be easier in two weeks, when I could say 10 things about France...but as it is I am in UK......

1) Wimbledon ;p
2) Scottish Highlands
3) Cornwall Coast
4) Guess the usuals in London....although I've never done them :o
5) The Cavern, Liverpool - infact all The Beatles spots
6) Bicester Village - shopping at a discount!!!
7) Bath - the Roman stuff, Aqua Sulis etc and the Crescent :worship:
8) uhhhh....struggling.....Edinburgh I guess
9) Giants Causeway, Northern Ireland
10) Oxford University.

Can you tell I don't have any affection for England ;)

14) You can go back in time and prevent a great catastrophe. Which one would you prevent?

Probably the conception of Hitler..(and Stalin for that matter...) all those lives lost just cos Hitler Snr got his rocks off.

15) What's your favorite smell?

Suncream or BBQ's = Summmmmmmer!!!!!!!!

16) What's your biggest regret?

Not running away from school...that action could have changed everything

17) Which was the best concert you have ever attended?

Apart from school concerts I have only ever attended one...and I sat begrudgingly through it..so its a pleasure still to come

18) What can't be missing in your fridge?

Coconut Water - its my new thing.......O - M - G

19) What's your opinion about the Daviscup?

I think its fantastic :worship:

20) What was your favourite subject in school?

Swimming,

but if you mean academically....ummm Literature or Classics.

Thanks in advance for answering :)

Sorry again, for taking so long. Hope you are well. Hugs :)

Will be at Wimby at least one day. Possibly more than one not sure yet.
