What was wrong with Soderling mentally?

Rafa = Fed Killa
11-22-2009, 09:03 PM
This year we had 3 tough 5 settters in the GS finals.

The runners up fought like men in all cases except one

....Soderling

Is he just mentally inferior player compared to people like Federer & Roddick?

Was he undeserving of a RU and was granted lucky circumstances?

I salute Federer & Roddick for fighting like men in a losing cause. Soderling I guess just didnt care enough to fight like a real man.

What is wrong with him?

Lots of mentally inferior players today.. Slam wise- Djoker and Murray this year and Roddick (Having to deal with Federer). All around. Guys like Soderling and Verdasco. Soderling should just get in line with the rest of the mental flakes. Hes alright but as Guga said he has no plan B. Most players today dont

No, he wants people to flame Sod to get a rush feeling from hating. Unfortunately, he doesn't have enough subtlety to get the job done right.

Poor little RFK. http://lost-forum.com/images/smilies/pathead.gif

This mentally unstable player made Nadull look like a mouse.

Also stop trying so hard, you'll already good for a good push in the ACC.

Well, I think Federer put in easily his best performance of the four GS finals he has played this year against Söderling.

Sod stressed on not celebrating too much after every win during RG as there were more matches to be played, and he was still hungry as he took the court against Fed, but he knew it had been a phenomenal two weeks for him regardless of the day's outcome. I'm sure he wanted to win, but lifting the plate rather than the cup wouldn't have felt anywhere near as bad for him as it would have for Fed. ;)

He's a mindless ball basher, some days he will be on, and others he will be awful. There is no plan b, with that clown.

Of course, and the different matchups that Nadal and Federer offer played no part whatsoever to Söderling's differing level of play during RG. None at all.

*sigh* There are 3 main reasons:
1. Soderling said himself that he was happy with just reaching the final, even though he of course wanted to win.
2. Federer is Soderling's worst match-up.
3. Federer played really well.

Wow, complicated stuff this.

I'm hardly a fan of Frauderer...he's still a far better player than Nadull will ever be.

you ask where was i at the nadal/soderling thread:

if you were not the clueless mtf cyberparasite then you would know that i said long before this event that the clay monster is in no shape to win a single match here.

he is without form and without his usual level of fitness. and he also has very little confidence at the moment.

and i also said that i have no desire to see him play in this condition.

translation: i actually would feel better if he can lose his 3 matches quickly here and get off these hard courts. this is not the time for him. his next title is likely to come at monte carlo. he has work to do and he knows it. a year full of injuries and knee issues set him back so it will take some time now.

translation: so soderling won a match over him. who but a coward would give a damn given the condition nadal finds himself in.

did you forget what nadal did to him in rome when he was reasonably healthy? do you know and understand who has 4 straight french open titles and who has nothing and never ever will?

6 slams on all surfaces and 36 titles by age 22 ring a bell? how about 15 masters shields by age 22 on all surfaces?

soderling will never even have existed when he retires. do you understand that or do you need further clarification?

Those were the excuses I've been looking for you to make. Now you yourself have confirmed to me what all Nadull-fantards feel. Never giving any credit to the opponent, always giving excuses due to supposed injuries, out of form or he's tired. Excuses excuses excuses.

Santoro owns Safin and is not a better player than him.

Ichiban1920
11-24-2009, 03:34 AM
then go ahead and explain why nadal owns him?

Because Nadull was a terrible matchup to Federer with his sky-high moonballs to Federer's backhand side. All Nadull had to do was moonball to Federer's backhand side so Federer could hardly dictate play from the back of the court unless he ran around the Nadull forehands to try to hit a forehand.

And what the fuck does NAdull's head-to-head record against Federer have anything to do with who's the better player? Federer is superior to Nadull in all facets of the game other than maybe the backhand. And besides, 15 Grand slams >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 6 grand slams.

You Nadull fanboys truly are delusional.

Soderling's mental fortitude should be self-evident now that he has beaten both Nadal and Federer in a grand slam, ending huge record streaks for both players. Del Potro, likewise, has shown his mental fortitude as well in both the USO and year end finals.

Not every player can be Fed or Nadal. One can still lose matches to journeymen despite being tough mentally.

HarryMan
06-02-2010, 03:12 AM
Soderling can blast the ball consistently, which is what makes the difference now, and I guess, and he seems to be mentally very strong. He doesn't make much errors when he hits with such velocity (he was ripping apart Federer from the baseline something I never thought could be done to him apart from Nadal). Let's see if he has it in him to win a slam title now. He has proved he can beat Nadal and Federer in slams something not many apart from Del Potro can boast about on accomplishing, now it's about winning one slam.
