It's nothing compared to the UK version.

The US version is just like any other sitcom. Pretty mediocre.

I hate the UK version.

Nothing compared to Rainn Wilson doing as Dwight or Steve Carrell as Michael Scott.

The guy who makes Kevin Malone :worship:

Jenna Fischer :hearts:

How can you hate the UK version? It's close to perfection. I've never seen such a perfectly awkward atmosphere on any TV programme before.

The American one is just squeezing every bit of life out of it like most US sitcoms. The UK version left on a high, after 12 episodes and 2 Christmas specials.

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are the creators behind the US version as well. Legends.

I just can't watch shows that are too popular. I'll feel like I'm on a bandwagon.

As usual, the US version takles out all the edge. The humour in this programme was about cringing in embarrassment. Gervais got it perfect. I only wish he would be given the host spot at the Oscars, with no control on what he says.
The skinny bad guy on the UK version was also perfect, way out in front of his US counterpart.

Was there really only one season in the UK?

UK = 2 seasons I think.

BGT, here its very unknown, so I aint got the bandwagon problem. ( I only know one guy who watches it, who was the one recommending it to me)

It's mediocre. I think Micheal goes overboard with his antics too often

Something we agree on.

It's not a patch on the original.

The Office is the only sitcom I watch anymore besides reruns of older shows (Seinfeld, Friends, Frasier). Sitcoms these days just don't hold a candle compared to those of the nineties. I enjoy the Office, but it would have been just another sitcom had it began 10-15 years ago.

FYI Excalibur--I hope you're not paying to watch it as it's available for free at NBC.com. Hopefully this is true in Argentina, as well.

I was a huge fan of the UK version and when the US version came out I thought I would hate it because it was copying a show I loved, but I have ended up loving the US version more.

I'm a huge fan of Steve Carell and he is brilliant as Michael Scott. I have only seen the first 2 series so far, but I have seasons 3 and 4 on DVD too ready to watch
