BREAK IT DOWN. Deserved win for a legend. At last he beats a top four as well, first time since Rome 08 :worship:

U can't touch this
U can't touch this
U can't touch this
U can't touch this

My-my-my-my (U can't touch this) music hits me so hard
Makes me say,"oh my lord thank you for blessing me
With a mind to rhyme and two hyped feet"
It feels good
When you know you're sown
A superdope homeboy from the Oaktown
And I'm known as such
And this is a beat-uh!
U can't touch this

I told you homeboy
U can't touch this
Yeah, that's how we livin' and you know
U can't touch this
Look in my eyes,man
U can't touch this
Yo, let me bust the funky lyrics
U can't touch this

Fresh new kicks and pants
You got it like that now you know you wanna dance
So move out of your seat
And get a fly girl and catch this beat
While it's rolling
Hold on
Pump a little bit and let 'em know it's going on
Like that
Like that
Cold on a mission so fall on back
Let 'em know that you're too much
And this is a beat
They can't touch

Yo! I told you
U can't touch this
Why you standing there, man?
U can't touch this
Yo,sound the bells, school is in, sucker
U can't touch this
Give me a song or rhythm
Making 'em sweat
That's what I'm giving'em
Now they know
You talk about the Steppa, you're talking about a show
That's hyped and tight
Singers are sweating so pass them a wipe
Or a tape to learn
What it is going to take in the '90s
To burn the charts
Legit either work hard or you might as well quit

That's the word,because you know
U can't touch this
U can't touch this

Break it down

Stop. . . Steppa time

Go with the flow
It is said
That if you can't groove to this
Then you probably are dead
So wave your hands in the air
Bust a few moves, run your fingers through your hair
This is it for a winter
Dance to this an' you're gonna get thinner
Move slide your rump
Just for a minute, let's all do the bump
Bump bump bump

Yeah, U can't touch this
Look man, U can't touch this
You better get hyped
Boy 'cause you know ya can't
U can't touch this
Ring the bell, school's back in
Break it down

Stop. Steppa time

U can't touch this
U can't touch this
U can't touch this
U can't touch this
Break it down

Stop. Steppa time

Every time you see me
The Steppa's just so hyped
I'm dope on the floor
And I'm magic on the mike
Now why would I ever
Stop doing this?
When others making records
That just don't hit
I've toured around the world
From London to the Bay
It's Steppa, go Steppa, M.C.Steppa, Yo Steppa
And the rest can go and play
Can't touch this

U can't touch this
U can't touch this
U can't touch this
Yeah,U can't touch this
I told you, U can't touch this
Too hype, can't touch this
Yo, we outta here, can't touch this

Well done to Stepanek in sets 2 & 3 - a completely different player to set 1.

Rest now for London, Andy. He rarely looks full of beans on court but today he looked like death's gramma.

Frankly I'd rather this result than watching Del Potro piss into Andy's open, waiting mouth tomorrow.

Bit of a tankjob from the 2nd set on - Murray gifted away a break with errors and a doublefault, then from that point was at halfspeed.

Not bothered at any of his many errors either, which is how you call tell Murray doesn't care about a result. Yesterday there was lots of anger at poor shots, today not one moan or shout at himself, nothing at all, just relaxed and unbothered. Even playing a bit of head-tennis at times, which you'll never see when he's focused.

Yeah I think the interesting thing today is that, in the last two sets, Stepanek stopped trying to hit through Murray and get to the net like he has in their previous meetings, and just started doing the cat and mouse thing himself, and it worked very well because he was playing very well and Murray didn't seem to have the legs to combat it successfully.

Yes and Murray's serving aside that would have been far more one-sided. Andy just wasn't dealing with it well today. I'm not too bothered - in this state Del Potro would have grabbed Andy's ankles, turned him upside down and wiped the floor with him so this is the lesser of two evils for me.

I hate to admit it, but it probably has regressed. No idea what has happened to his forehand. People criticise it, but it never used to be this much of a liability. It has nothing on it and just sits there, almost without fail.

I know - part of the problem is people just read what he's going to do better now - they know that they play to the forehand because it's not as potent, they understand better what shots he will try in a given situation. And he hasn't adapted to that.

which is less than ideal, I know. I don't want it to happen either, but, c'est la vie, c'est la vie. c'est good for you, c'est bad for me.

I think he has a lot of work to do to deal with some weak spots in his game and try to develop more consistency from match to match - his level can be all over the place, you don't know what's coming next. Hopefully he will work on this in the off season - there's not much further he can push the fitness, it's the law of diminishing returns.

I think he'll just about hold onto the #4 ranking this year tbh. A healthy lead over JMDP at the moment, and that will only change if JMDP actually wins the Paris title (in which case he'll move up to #4 going into WTF). Otherwise, Muzza will lead JMDP by at least 200pts going into WTF...would leave him two RR matches in hand, so JMDP would have to mean business there as well.

Anyway, to add my thoughts to this thread...obviously a nasty match-up for Stepanek, but you had to wonder if circumstances (yesterday's late finish etc etc) would play a bigger part in this particular edition. How can you not love Sexy? :inlove: :worship:

Murray hates the press, due to bad experiences when he was 18 or so (the tabloid press in the UK is pretty bigoted and unpleasant). Now he's very closed with them, does the minimum necessary and says nothing.

Besides, what could he say? "Yeah, I was out of energy after playing all last week, being out injured for a while, playing a long match till 2am last night, so I tanked because there was no future for me at this tournament and London is more important."

All the top players do it at times, would be nice if just once someone was honest about it :-)

I dont think it really matters if Murray is at 5 in the world in fact i think fed, nadal and djoker are probably better QF oppenants for Murray than some of the dangerous floating big hitters ranked 5-8.
The rankings are important but if murray drops to 5 he is suddenly the hunter again. He likes that and its better for his game. When he got to no 2 in the world he became alot more defensive probably because he had something to lose.

 Something about the Paris masters repels the top ranked players from winning it.

I think it's because of bongoman.:p

Didnt see this one, so i cant comment i suppose sexy deserves a congratulations.

When he got to no 2 in the world he became alot more defensive probably because he had something to lose.

thats not a bad call actually...

One of his worst of the year.

Saying that a little too much are we?

Congrats Stepanek, really entertaining character. As for Murray, good luck in London - he needs it, with the burden of expectation back on his shoulders.

I highly doubt that Murray tanked the match. Del Potro is not far behind him and he does not want to go to number 5 as it will have quite a signifficant effect on his future draws.

Well done to Stepanek in sets 2 & 3 - a completely different player to set 1.

Rest now for London, Andy. He rarely looks full of beans on court but today he looked like death's gramma.

Frankly I'd rather this result than watching Del Potro piss into Andy's open, waiting mouth tomorrow.

he would not be close to favourite

And who's fault is that?

and yes, he lost to a better player

the tournament worked out that way.

He obviously didnt. Youre brainless.

in this state Del Potro would have grabbed Andy's ankles, turned him upside down and wiped the floor with him so this is the lesser of two evils for me.

lol, would not even be the favourite

look, if he can't win slams and the other 4 can, maybe that's fair.

stupid comment whatsoever. But he has a lot more gs than djok and potro right now

I've said it twice. I'm not exactly breaking any records.

You know that tennis players have to warm down, eat, and do press after a match, right? He said it was 4am before he got to bed.

It actually wasn't anyone's fault really. A lot of the matches simply ended up being epics.

Do you know how long a routine cool down will take? And do you think it takes hours to have something to eat? And he doesn't have to do a presser.

Is it just a coincidence every time Murray loses there is always an excuse?

Actually, he does have to do press. Unless he wants a fine, of course. Either way, he went to bed at around 4am, according to him.

If you want to think that Murray was in peak condition, no one is stopping you.

I think Murray could have finished off his match against Blake much earlier if he wasn't playing the usual passive shite. He has only himself to blame. Sure he was unlucky with the scheduling, but he allowed Blake to dominate and extend the match.

Sexy was ready to pounce.

utter garbage, he's getting worse as every tournament passes

proving himself afterall to be nothing more than the usual British tennis player.

Now that's not a very positive outlook, we here in France sure would like such a player who really delivers and doesn't squander his talent.
