Good play from Youzhny.;) Poor Gilles, his chances of qualifying for WTF got slimmer, almost none.

Simon had 7 bp being 3-2 up in the third. didn't convert. Simon had 4 more bp being 4-3 down in the third. misha saved them all. interesting, during a long nervous 7-bp game on youzhny's serve, a lady in the crowd fainted and they needed to stop for 5 mins.

Youzhny played aggressively throughout; his shot selection most of the time was impeccable. The things confidence does to your game. :worship: Loved how he took matters into his own hands when saving 11/11 BPs in the second set, many times approaching the net and showing a lot of variety. :yeah: He's a joy to watch.

Youzhny amazing at saving BPs... Gilles couldn't be aggressive on his many chances in the 2nd. Nice to see Mischa back at a great level!

I was just going to ask that, I'm thinking he doesn't make it back and given his poor 2009 overall, quite frankly, he doesn't deserve to be in the WTF.

Good attitude from Youzhny on the bps, but Simon did nothing when he did get it into a rally. Then, on serve, key point was a dodgy overrule/replay at 0-15 that tipped his frustration over the edge (after a dodgy linecall the previous game that got him red in the face). Doublefaulted next point and dropped serve.

Simon had no chance at WTF even before this, and was playing a bit that way in Lyon - not much belief.

Odd mentality from Youzhny that second set, pretty tight on serve, then gets to the bps and suddenly ultra focused ;-)

There's no identifiable talent for the advantageous distribution of points. The received wisdom the Cult of Big Points regurgitates has no basis. Ad scoring has no value beyond its power to perpetuate myths.

Also, for a superstitious peon, you're quite smug.

Bilbo was looking hard for some advantageous stats there, the same return ones wouldn't do in percentages. 33 to 34 percent doesn't have the same ring
