Just over 3 hours, and pretty much identical stats from both as well.

Unreal from Troicki :-)

Served for the first set, broken.

Had **6-5 in the 1st set tiebreak, lost all 3 remaining points.

Had **6-3 in the 3rd set tiebreak, lost all 5 remaining points.

Troiki's a wimp. When you're up 6-3 you put them away. Kind of like the Wimbledon 2009 F in the 2nd set, Roborod had a chance to go up 2 sets to love and had a 6-2 lead in the tiebreaker.

Only Marin can do this. He was break up in second and third set but he almost lose it .
Impossible is nothing for him .

That's about as close it can get.
Troicki obviously had the best chances but blew them all. Congrats, Cilic! :hatoff:

Very important win for Cilic, his first win after saving MP and first win in the final set tie-break. Troicki saved MP in the 2nd set and was 1:4 down in the third, 5:6 (0-30). It would have been amazing win for Troicki but wasted triple match point with two services! Troicki is now 0-3 in MP saved matches.
Cilic improves his mentality playing against Troicki. Two matches when was the closest to lose and won were against Troicki, previous one a year ago in Chennai: Cilic won 3-6 7-6(6) 6-1.

Cilic, great fight back although I am not sure it was worth it. Judging by the ups and downs the play was nothing to be proud of:o

Troicki's first serve abandoned him at crucial points. He needs to control his nerve.

Marin Cilic has beaten the best. That Troicki is able to challenge Cilic now is very good. Too bad the match was not televised. Must have been exciting.

Troicki

He had so many chances and blew all of them, was serving for 1st set at 5-4 and got broken, had SPs and MPs in the 1st and 3rd TB and blew them :o
Blacklisted for life alongside with Bellucci

what a turnover by cilic, fantastic.
but it should be easier. again set and break up and again blow it that.
stat isn't indentical beacuse cilic has 52 points against serve against troicki's 41 (38%/33%)

also cilic had match point in 2. TB (ace by troicki),also cilic had 4:1 in 3. set and alos he had 6:5 and 0:30 on troicki's service (two poins from win).
after all great comeback but cilic really should win easier that kinds of matches.

Troicki looked like a bad futures player last week at St Pete's, so doesn't say a lot for Cilic's form....

Troicki
Such a great opportunity to gain big points here with a winnable next round.

First Kohl, now Troicki :help:

Becker on slow hard is just another bad futures player too :-)

Anyway, being serious, I'd be pretty curious to have seen this one to get a good idea of Troicki's game - he maybe just woke up again to Bangkok form. Then again, the swings do suggest a bit of a mugathon on both their parts.

damn :spit: what a choker that Troicki is :tape: :o he was up in both the 1st and 3rd sets, even with mps in the 3rd set  :o he's talented but such a headcase it seems  :o

I was thinking the same thing. Troicki is slowly moving forward.
