a Fed/Djokovic final would be awesome :yeah:

I thought a double bagel was 6-3; 6-3 :haha:

Hernych.

At the end I felt real pity for the guy, and that's not a feeling I'm used to.

Shocking. How did Djoko lose 26 points to this muppet?

Anyway, as with most such scorelines, extremes of performance from them both. Djoko was awesome, but Hernych was as bad as he's been since the US Open. There's clearly something wrong with him, he's playing at a futures level atm - losing to Crivoi indoors, and to a crippled Monaco who couldn't run or serve (10 dfs).

Something about Hernych really annoys me, so I'm glad to see this.

Double bagel was expected at 6-0 1:0. Hernych at that moment knew it, surprisingly had 40-15 at 0:3, Djokovic played two excellent retuns then.

Hernych is just one of those Schuettler/Serra types wasting a top 100 spot for someone who actually deserves one.

I think Novak's just playing at his normal level...nothing too special today....I was expecting something like 6-3 6-4 or at best 6-2 6-3...Jan's completely pathetic today

Novak, let's not get carried away and focus on your next round! :) Been doing well thus far since Cincinnati :D :yeah:

Other than some drama provided by Djokovic while he's serving for 5-0 in 1st set and some excellent defense at set point first set, pretty boring match.

Hernych is absolutely pathetic and nothing really special from Djokovic (it's hard when your opponent played like that though)

I think Djokovic was determined to not make this match as sticky as the Dubai one. :]

A little bit of both. Djokovic was indeed playing well, but it's not like he was hitting winners all the time. Hernych was rushing the net too often and got punished for that.

At least he was trying to mix it up, you got to give him that.

Hernych is one of these players that makes you wonder how he is ranked well enough to get into alot of tournaments

another with relatives inside the ATP manipulating his points imo

Well, Luczak is a genuine mudroller, on a fast court he's utterly out of his element.

Losing 0 and 0 to anyone is embarassing. Hernych must've been abolute shit to be double bageled.

It was too easy for Djokovic and that's somehow disturbing.

said it earlier but its really nice seeing djoker evolve, and play more versatile tennis. slice not the best but he is using it by far more often, especially against those balls far to his BH, approaching still mostly sucks, but volleying technique looks much improved, also there is more sense in dropshots and rallying... for him its now a matter of employing all this at various situations - which could take months if not a years to fully learn, but its cool to know he is working and improving, not stagnating as a player.

When a top player plays a mediocre player this sort of scoreline is bound to happen from time to time. Nothing to get excited about.

The last time I watched Hernych was against Seppi in Cinci and it was a solid level of futures somewhere in Ghana, so no surprise here.

I watched the match live, Hernych was hideously awful. Novak was solid, but nothing particularly brilliant.

Winning 6-0 6-0 by no means increase his chances of winning this title. Chance of reaching the final: 95%. Winning the title: 0%

That Jan Hernych must try to reinvent himself. Eating bagels doesn't mean the end of the world. Remember del Potro at AO this year? He ate 2 bagels too, but months later he's the USO champion.
