Will there be a thread Federer to Win 10 More Slams after Fed wins Basel? :D :D

A guy who reaches all 4 GS Finals in 2009 and wins two of them is likely to win a Slam in 2010 if you ask me.

Yves.

I think he will, just not as easy as he used to win them. At least two in total.

Indeed. But I'll be surprised if he wins more than one.

What an ignorant question to ask? Why not consider this question AFTER Federer has NOT reached EVERY GS final in the past year? He obviously has a VERY GOOD chance of winning any of the GS's in 2010.

I expect him to win 2.

Not the French.

Federer is likely to win less masters events and not be that motivated with normal ATP events but majors will remain his priority and, if Agassi was able to win majors in his late 20s and early 30s, I don't see why Federer shouldn't continue to at least win one of the hardcourt majors and probably Wimbledon for atleast a couple more years.

I think he'll win Wimbledon and maybe the US open.
How awesome would it be if he finally took the Calendar Slam... then he'd have a reason to become even more smug. x)

Federer is a long way from not being able to win slams. I mean, he makes the Final of every slam so how do you go from that to not winning another slam? Seems unlikely that he will stop winning.

Holy crap, shut up already. 2006-2007 = Rafa no major injury = 6 slams in 2 years. Happy? Kthx

Only thing you Rafatards can say

whenever Roger = winning Rafa = injured
whenever Rafa = winning Roger = terrible

the guy has made the last 7 grand slam finals in a row, and won 3 of them.

i think he will win at least 1 slam next year, most likely wimbledon, that is still his turf i think despite that epic loss against rafa in 2008, and that close win against roddick this year.

i also say that us open is the slam that he next has the best shot at, he just got too cute and paid the price against del potro in the final this year.

don't know about aus open and french open next year though.

he reached all finals in 2007, won 3 of them and 2008 was imo the crappiest one in many years

yes but you've got to realize that it became 10,000 times difficult for him to perform like that this year and if anything ,the odds are that it will get harder for him to do it again next year.... add to that an ageing body (in tennis terms) and rise of great talents like delpo, djoko, murray and cilic and the re-emergence of injury free nadal and you never know... unfortunately WIMBY 09 might have been his last...

One GS maybe ?? no more because of Nadal, Nalby, Delpo, Murray, Djok, Cilic..and others whose I don't think about today.. He won RG and Wimbly 2009 because Nadal was injured, nothing more

If we are considering how potentially BAD a player can play in the future, you cannot justify all those other players on the rise. Do I even seriously need to get into all the issues ALL the other top players have holding them back from winning slams right now and next year? Delpo.... really? Mr "Hasn't-won-a-match-since-winning-the-USOpen".... Djokovic? Murray? They've gone from uber-talents to flaking out left, right and center (nothing against them... they've just had a terrible year... that is until this past month). Nadal.... who knows if he'll get back in shape and who knows if his body will hold up? And don't even introduce a non-GS finalist to the conversation. They need to go deep into a tournament before they can be considered realistic challenges.

Again, if we are to assume the WORST for Federer, then we must also assume the worst for the other players too. All players being equal and fit, Federer has the best chances to win AT LEAST one slam next year.

People are crazy.

Federer: 2009
AO: Final
FO: Final
Wimbly: Final
USO: Final

He's not gonna win anymore grand-slams looking at his current form...

MTF is hitting a new low,

Only on MTF would people believe that a man who got to the final on all surfaces, and only lost in the 5th set to the 2 he didn't win is never going to win again.

The only way Federer is not gonna be a contender is if 2 people in the field become better than Federer on Hardcourt, on clay, and on grass and can maintain their form?

Indeed, he'll win whether rafa is there or not. As most have said, 4 finals in 2009 is not exactly a bad thing, huh? Alas, most players would kill to achieve in their careers as much as federer has achieved in this year alone. Safin has accomplished this I think, and he is thought to be a great player. Ok, let's forget the post 2005 stuff:rolleyes:

Are you sure it is not in fact one billion times more difficult now?

Right now, Delpotro is rising, Murray and Faker have plateaued. Cilic?

As for Nadal, he will be injury free untill he loses a match, then the Rafatards will use an injury as an excuse.

Look, it has already begun:

it depends on whether rafael gets injured again or not.......

An injury free Nadal cannot lose a match.
