Except for one marvellous running forehand pass from Fed in the beginning of the second set, this was
Call it routine. Call it saving energy. But it wasn't beautiful.
On the other hand he knows he doesn't have to do more against Andreas.
6-0 in matches and 13-0 in sets now for Federer against the monster serving italian.

The running forehand has made a comeback to Fed's game. =]

Chardy next. Could be sticky if Jim plays like he can.

I was right on the money, as I predicted yesterday that this match would be 6-3 6-3. Korolev/Chardy won't be too much of a problem either.

Well, that is kind of the way to play Seppi... he likes the angles and likes to try to get you to go for winners... just play him deep and sometimes take off some pace and cut back the errors. Serve well too. If Roger doesn't play sloppy then he will win against Seppi with his consistency.

That running forehand - first point of the second set - was awesome. :hearts:
For the rest of it, a decent, solid day-at-the-office performance. Keep it going Rogelio. :hatoff:

He seems way to relaxed outside the slams which is a good thing until he comes across a stronger player.

An OK performance by Fed standards. Some wild shanks along with that ripper running forehand everyone has mentioned.

What did some of you expect? :spit: the top players know Seppi is always a routine win for them-nothing more than a good workout :p :tape:

One of those easy match ups where Federer can lose *2:5 or 3:5 but is going to win anyway.

Federer has really planned his finish to the year perfectly, he had the rest and yet doesn't have rust. Probably trained consistently during the break.

Haven't seen a match yet, but I like the 1st serve percentage. How is his movement and aggression? Last year's final against Nalbandian was one of his two best performances of the year, very aggressive, moving smoothly, hitting flat and with consistently impressive depth.
