Who can defeat Federer at Basel?

One question is Rafa playing at Valencia or at Basel?

It seems like unless Nole stops the 15-time mug he might have this in the bag and another loss for Tennis. Thoughts?

Yeah sure. How about checking out the obvious, i.e., the Valencia and Basel sites??? :retard:
To answer your question: NO, Rafa doesn't play at either one of those tournaments, thanks heavens. :cuckoo:

any person can beat anyone

it just depends on if they have the drive and motivation to do it
federer has more desire to win more than any other tennis player i have ever known:dog:

Please stop with the :retard: threads. I'm sure there is an existing thread somewhere where you could have asked this question.

Only Novak has a chance. Federer hasn't played in ages, so he is not totally fresh. However, Novak has not played his best tennis in ages. Easy win for Fed?

Um, I don't think it works like that. Agassi recently said he doesn't even like tennis but he still won a lot.

In response to the thread, beating Roger in Basel is about as hard as beating Rafa in Barcelona - EXTREMELY.

No one. He's already invincible enough and with the home crowd behind him you'll need some scientifically mutated freak to last him out. Plus this tournament is so close to his home... There simply is no better feeling than playing in a laid back local tournament.

i think djokovic has the best chance out of the players playing in basel of beating federer if they meet in the final, i hope to see a fed/djokovic final.

i agree with u about fed being a 15-time mug. i lost respect for fed when he let a first time finalist fought his way to victory. if novak never changed his racquet and never lost his concentration on tennis, he would've whoop federer's arse and hand out can of whooping arse to del pussy in US open.

it's a shame del pussy won US open ahead of nadal, djokovic and murray when they achieved a lot more than him.

Federer doesn't seem to be playing very well this week at Basel at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if another freak Montreal Tsonga loss happens to him.

I think Federer is more a certainty to win this than any event this year, except for maybe Wimbledon....

dont think anybody is playing well enough to derail Fed here. he serves too well, returns too well, and volleys too good on hard courts.

and that is 70% of the game on hard courts. you have to be on the top of your game and you still dont stand much of a chance.

Djokovic is the only one with a shot, but I don't think he'll do it.

Djokovic is the only one with a shot, but I don't think he'll do it.

agreed. the problem with djokovic is that he is not serving and returning at his 2008 australian open level.

and that is why he has been losing to Fed on hard courts. Fed just took him apart in Cincy. so much of the game on hard courts is serving well and returning well.
