I like it. Although I would put the symbol more central and not aside as they've done.

In one of his interviews Rafa declined to answer when he was asked about the bullfights (so maybe he doesn't really like or approve them) and didn't he write in some blog or smth that he wasn't too thrilled about the bull logo stuff/didn't want to use it? I know I am old and my memory is all gone sadly. Maybe some younger one can dig it up?

Q: AS a Spaniard, what is your perspective on bullfighting? I've never seen one personally but I think it is quite an art.
Shelly, USA

A: I never talk about this things. Sorry and thanks.

Oh thanks, yes it was the Q & A. And no need to be :o at all!

I understand it's an obvious (bullfighter) and somewhat cliché image Nike has created for Rafa opposite to Fed and I don't have anything against it really as Rafa is still young but I wonder how Rafa himself feels about it. Maybe they could come up with something better.

I'm not particularly keen on personalized clothing for top players no matter if it's a symbol, the full name or the initials, though.

Last year in Monte Carlo, Rafa was wearing a similar cap but with the bull horns symbol in the middle of the cap, in blue and without the Nike symbol on it. A friend of mine asked Benito if those caps will be for sale and Benito then answered that they were thinking of several designs and the proceeds would go to Rafa's foundation but they hadn't yet decided whether they would go ahead with it.

i luv it, i want one.

rafa doesn't talk of contentious non-tennis matters, bullfighting is a highly such one. chances are he doesn't give a f*ck since it isn't a popular thing in Mallorca  however, he isn't associated by those symbols to bullfighting but to bulls, the cultural significance of which for all mediterranean people, specially kept in Iberia, go well beyond "bullfighting" as such.

Yeah I get that bullfiighting is not that popular in Mallorca and Rafa probably doesn't care much /as a nice person he is doesn't want to create any controversy (with the animal rights activists or whomever).
But Rafa as a bull.... :o :o may be but don't like it much. Then Fed should have the ballerina logo or smth. :haha: :o j/k j/k

I remember reading quite some time ago (when specifically asked about it) that he doesn't like bullfighting. I can't remember what he said exactly but he added something about knowing that it's part of Spain's heritage and such but he doesn't like watching it.

How awesome would it be if Roger had one with a cow on it :worship:

Bull is a culturally revered animal in the Iberian peninsula since time inmemorial, full of possitive meanings. Not many Spaniards would mind being associated with such a noble beast.

Yes, he said it in one of his blogs maybe during Wimbledon 2007

Interesting that it is the case. Of course the same is true in India. There are not many animals that we don't revere though:lol:

Many of the Spaniards living in Belgium have this sort of bull sticker on their car -->

A tutu!!

I just hope that Rafa doesn't start wearing it to his pressers with it pulled way down over his eyes after a loss. The only good thing I have to say about it is that at least it's not his initials.
