Tsonga couldn't shake that comedy sentence out of his mind, but Robin looked the more impressive from the two before that anyway. One loose service game in the second set per standards for Robin, but the two holds after that were more impressive.

Robin will have a much harder task against Lalo in next round. Don't get fooled by this flash. Ali was bellow mediocre and Soda's been almost struggling previously with players like HAnescu and Almagro.
If Lalo makes it today (i have no doubt about that), it has to be a tight match comming after.

Anyway, it was a solid match from Soderling. Jo played a bit of a shocker really, way to up and down, and the whole linecall business in the first set didn't help his composure.

Anyway I won't make this about him 'cause this thread is about Soderking and his success. It's great to see Soderking 8th now in the race.

Hey guys.. I was not able to watch this encounter.. so.. what happened there with this freaky line call? Can someone explain it exactly? Thanks.

Söderling was serving at *4/3 in the first set. With the score at 30/30 Tsonga hits a winner which is called out, but Tsonga didn't hear the outcall or the Umpire calling the score 40/30 rather than 30/40, so he doesn't challenge as he thought his shot was called good. He wins the next point, and so he thinks he has broken rather than gotten to deuce.

About that pic with Söderling and Nadal, I was saving it til their match actually is underway. It's from Båstad 2003.

I also don't think it's a good matchup for Tsonga...he's entertaining but he's a power player, and Soderling wins a lot of these matches against hard hitters. It's also funny to say this but Soderling has been more consistent than Tsonga this year between matches as well as in matches...Soderling actually does keep quite a few balls in play while smacking them, while Tsonga can still be...wild
