i dont know about that "two master tacticians" out there. tsonga has better results on hard courts and is a more accomplished player of these 2 on the average.

soderling is just not that good.

i expect tsonga to win this in 2 sets. it could go 3 sets so we will have to see.

he has a bigger serve and is generally better at the forecourt and the net. i think he can keep soderling under pressure.

I agree Tsonga is better at the net, but from the back of the court you have to give Soderling the edge, the serves are pretty close as well.

affirmative TMJ. should be a good match.

on clay, i would have been forced to go with soderling. he has improved his fitness and looks a little more confident out there.

this is hard courts and tsonga has significantly better results on these type of surfaces. it is slightly more humid in shanghai than it was in beijing and the ball is bouncing higher but these type of conditions did not prevent tsonga from making the finals at the australian open in 2008.

so from my vantage point its tsonga but we will see how it all plays out.

Highly anticipated match to me. Tsonga has won his last 7 sets "6-3", it's ridiculous, I haven't seen such a thing :lol: It's time to play again a tie-break. 7-6 6-4 for the Frenchman.

Not sure about that old sport. If you saw Soderling the last 2 sets against Roger at the US Open, you would not pick against him. He can take out anyone on any given day.
