Who'd you like to see complete the Top 8 for World Tour Finals?

Top 5 already in. Roddick's almost a shoo-in. So two spots really left in contention. Possible contenders are Verdasco, Gonzalez, Soderling, Tsonga, Davydenko, Cilic, Robredo, Stepanek, Simon and Monfils.

Whoever plays well in Shanghai has a great chance to make it.:)

You can forget Robredo, and virtually forget Cilic, Simon, Stepanek and Monfils. Really it is only between Davydenko, Tsonga, Soderling, Gonzalez and Verdasco for the two remaining places.

I'd like Verdasco to get there because he has put in some consistently solid results in the '1000' and Slam events this season...it would be a shame if he misses out in the last few days of the battle. Otherwise, I honestly don't mind about the others...each will bring their own definition of 'fun' to the event.

I guess I'd probably least like Gonzo to make it...like many, I enjoy watching the crazy guy play, and he is brilliant to watch when he is pulling off his shots. But, at the moment, he is stalling, and certainly he has a major weakness (the backhand) which the other guys know to immediately target. So I guess he could be a solid candidate for 3 group defeats, which would take the edge off a little. :awww:

Soderling and Tsonga indoors would be  ...Toad should be very competitive, and Tsonga at least has that extra entertainment value with his visible intensity. Would be nice if Davydenko makes it as he would bring more 'skill' to the line-up, and is more tactically astute than some. Could be watching a couple of good matches with him, if he draws a pusher and a ball basher in his group.

Should be fun regardless of who qualifies. :D

Yeah, Cilic and maybe Monfils only have a chance if they have a monster season from now on, prolly need to make Paris final at least - seems pretty unlikely, given Cilic only has made one masters quarterfinal in his career so far.

Gonzo looks like he's really struggling, I don't think he's going to make it. Kinda unlucky to run into TMC rival Davydenko next round too, Davy always beats him.

Verdasco keeps getting his quarterfinal, and he's got a decent lead in the race, so probably there's only one spot up for grabs between Davy, Sod and Tsonga. Real shame one of them should miss out - some years the final TMC spots are a bit of a mugfest, but good quality stuff this year. If I had to pick, I'd like to see Sod there, because of his potential to upset the best indoors. Also deserves it imo, after being the one to finally beat Nadal at RG, and for his bad luck in repeatedly running into Fed in the slams.

Agree with the Verdasco points. He's been so solid this year it would be an absolute crime if he didn't make it.

Also, I reckon it would be a crime if Soderling didn't qualify, since he made the French Open final, and has since had very good results. :D

i think roddick will be guaranteed the 6th spot after shanghai (if he plays well).

7th and 8th spots- 5 way battle i think between verdasco, gonzo, tsonga, soderling and davy.

i hope it will be verdasco and tsonga rounding out the 7th and 8th spots, that would be awesome. :)

7. Verdasco
8. Soderling

I agree with a lot of what Jez said, any of Gonzalez, Davydenko, or Tsonga replacing the last 2 would still bring some high-quality indoor tennis to the event.

Barring any withdrawls, should be a good line-up for the WTF.

Definitely I'd like to see players from the picture (recently my favorite players) + Soderling, and I don't want to watch another (at least) three matches with Davydenko :yeah: IMO Robredo and Stepanek aren't in the mix, and I don't talk about mathematic chances, simply they aren't good enough to obtain necessary points in Shanghai and Paris.
I agree with Judio, especially after Roddick's retirement today his participation in London is doubtful. I think he would like to finish already this season.

I hope Cilic can make it. Unlikely, though.

And Tsonga is kind of in desperate situation, since he won Paris 08.

Well, no idea. Anything can happen, including Roddick doesn't play.

Last year's points don't count towards race rankings so Tsonga should be fine.

with no federer at shanghai, soderking and tsonga have no excuses to not do well.

if you are seriously serious about tennis you should check out the former pro section at TTW

now, i know TTW is a whore house of nadal worship and the most vile pathetic retards frequent the place-

but

the former pro section is free from these germs and its usually troll free

first time i visited the former pro section i had to wipe a tear away from my cold black heart, that had been warmed by the collective knowledge brought together in one place- the kind of warmth only tennis and hard drinking can bring

I'll back Soderking and Tsonga as so many others. Verdasco would be my alternate. Soderking and Tsonga both have very interesting games, especially indoors for the Swede. I really enjoyed the match-up in the Stockholm Open final between Sod and Nalby last year. The two indoor monsters have had some epic matches, including one of the best ever in that Davis Cup match Nalby won 6-4 1-6 4-6 6-4 9-7 last year.
