Tsonga serving too well and playing too big. Youzhny needed to play perfectly to have a chance in this match.

Nice match for Jo, faced very little trouble and did more than enough to win. Valuable points and another nice title to his name.

Ok match. Tsonga serve was tough, his groundies was solid. Both moved around quite well. Youzhny often held his own, but made some errors-in-a-row to twice give away his serve, and he was too often guessing wrong on the return.

since when you have play perfectly against tsonga? he is tsonga, we are not talking about federer

youzhny just has weak 1st serve that was key, tsonga was returning it easily

:bounce:

Tsonga's best tournament in terms of return games, didn't even play "7-5" set all week :D
His 48th ATP tournament and 5th title, Federer at 48 had only 1 title :p ;)

For some reason it seemed like the energy level in this match was somewhat subdued and neither guy ever hit a great rhythm in the rallies.

Anyway Tsonga served well and Youzhny was guessing wrong on a lot of them. Some loose play on serve cost Youzhny the match.

his power is nothing special, in tennis everyone(except flavio cipolla, tommy robredo) can play... its just matter how many poor games you play/match.

But more importantly, his one loss was his one GS final. He still has a long way to progress to be a GS contender again.

"again" he wasnt contender when he made that run AO, he has never been contender.

i have nothing against tsonga but the hype he just gets is abysmal, pff...

Tsonga nearly won that AO final [got the 1st set & was a few points away from taking the 4th~ if it had gone a 5th set Djoko might have choked]..

It looked a shaky ride initially in round two and three, but no mercy from Jo once he got to the semifinal. The battle for spots in the TMC is now full of eager contenders.
