he reached SF at the USO in 2008 as well ;)
he also won Canada in 2005 and 2008, the Olympics in 2008 and Indian Wells in 2007

the only difference was the AO win, but his performance in fast hard courts hasn't been his best

us open is a fast hardcourt, and this is his best result (losing in the semi to the champ), though either way this poll is about hardcourt not fast hardcourt

Best medium-pace hardcourt year ever for sure. 2008 was his best fast-hardcourt year with winning Canada, semis in Cincy, gold medal in Beijing and semis of US Open.

any year you win a slam on hardcourt is a better hardcourt year than a year you don't (plus indian wells and career high us open)

It is, but he will never ever ever be remembered as a great hardcourt player.

I'd be tempted to say 2008 was better, won Gold at the Olympics (on what I was told was one of the fastest HC's out there) & after playing A LOT of tennis all year long, pretty sure he won multiple titles during the HC season (am I wrong? Surely he won some right? Can't be sure though as I didn't really pay attention & am too lazy to go look it up :tape: ), got the #1 ranking (ok you could argue that was actually from his work earlier in the year on clay, grass but still, he had to actually keep up his performances after Wimbledon to actually take it from Fed), he got his 1st appearance at the USO semi's & I think was closer to reaching the final then than he was this year (I actually expected him to at least get to the final last year, this year I expected DelPo to beat him).

In 2009's favour is the win at the AO, the 1st slam win on HC, but overall I think his 2008 performance was more slightly more impressive even if it didn't involve an actual slam win.

Maybe. He won the Olympic gold medal in 2008.

So, maybe 2008 is a bit better?

Olympics courts were decoturf, the same surface as the USOpen, so yeah pretty fast. Olympics however will always play second fiddle to the slams, and rightfully so, therefore no question, this is his best HC year.

But that should be pretty obvious...

i can say yes, coz he won a gs on a hardcourt.
and gs are what really matters.

Zzzz, someone close rafawon09usopen's threads. All he does is make a new thread for every statistical evidence he can find and every opinion he thinks is true which are never accurate.
