Impressive performance; incredible serving, good at the net, and fierce from the back of the court. Gael got completely shut out

55 mins, 28/29 points on 1st serve.

No its just you would rather see Nadal moonballing for 3 hours than aggressive, well-constructed tennis.

Watching Tsonga in his last two matches I can't imagine how he lost to Mugtroi a week ago :o Probably was dormant after too easy 1st set.

3rd week in a row that a Frenchman has been in an ATP Final, and if Jo wins it will be 3 weeks in a row of a Frenchman winning a title.

Now I see why I couldn't find the thread. It helps to put the current venue in the thread title.

Tsonga against Youzhny sounds like an intriguing matchup to me, but Mikhail will need to be really crisp on the return if Jo serves like this tomorrow too.

With this win, Jo should be very closing to clinching a spot in the WTF. :D

Is that aimed at me?

Just because Nadal is one of the players I support doesn't mean that I only like one style of tennis.

I just don't like crappy victory dances, I don't like it when Gael does one either. That applies to everyone. If Richard suddenly develops one I wouldn't be particularly happy.

Glad to see that guy who always seems to do his best to show off in stead of playing concentrated tennis in the first place, out. Yeah sorry, I just can't watch Monfils.

No, qualifications for the WTF are based on the 2009 race and not the 52 week rankings :)

Funnily enough, he fluked a masters as well. Master fluker, this one, stringing all those high profile wins. Surely he's up for an upgrade on your sublime ranking to "can fluke an entire tournament".

You can tell by the way Tsonga reacts to winning match point that he never expected to play that well. Obliterating Nadal like that

Guys in their first slam semis generally enter it with a rational mindset, aware of their chances or lack of it, rather than predominantly high on adrenaline? There's something deeper to read from his reaction on MP than absolutely thrilled I made the final? I seriously doubt the fact that he played an absolutely brilliant match was anywhere in his mind in whatever way at that moment or before the match for that matter. It is also difficult to imagine Tsonga not entering any match with a mindset that is winnable.

fluke performance it was, since then he has lost nadal 2 times hardcourts, pure fluke performance that AO.

By the definition of a fluke, it should be virtually unrepeatable.

Is he getting an upgrade? Please. Your opinion is highly respected and it would mean a lot to the Tsonga camp :o

Since then, he won the Paris Masters, beat Federer, beat Djokovic twice...

Either you refuse to understand or you're an idiot. I have a feeling it' the latter.
