Nando had 3 set points on Kolya serve in set 2.

Oh well. Final is good. The results are still coming.

Well done Kolya.

I lost faith in him completely after he lost to Garcia-Lopez in the 1R of Cincinatti Masters...

but then he took WC to New Haven and won the title and made QFs of the USO, and then the final here of course. His matches are usually littered with a few DFs no matter how well he's playing otherwise anyway. :D

Who could forget his double fault on match point in the AO epic v Nadal earlier this year?

Get over the whole "future" thing already, it's from months and months ago. He's continuing to have great results this year and not everyone can be Federer and Nadal so STFU. Thanks. :)

I'm afraid when Reed makes a pronouncement, it instantly becomes a classic and lives forever no matter who it is about. That and the jinx is why everyone goes :banghead: as soon as he decides to mention one of their favorites

OK sorry I was so harsh but seriously Nando gets not enough respect around here. I mean, even though he lost this final it was another first among many firsts this year - he'd never made it to three finals in a year before. :awww:

Hey, no prob.
I don't dislike Verdasco at all and would have congratulated him just the same if he'd won. My comment was more meant as a dig towards that :silly: Reed. ;)

I would've really liked to see this match. Oh well. I enjoy the result at least and a title for Davydenko at this stage is obviously good for his ranking but also should give him additional confidence for the rest of this race to WTF.

I guess a regular was Verdasco CC FH, Davydenko DTL BH, Verdasco CC BH, Davydenko FH winner/forcing an error? Seems to have been a regular theme for other matches between them and makes sense because Davydenko has the strength and control on his BH to take it away from Verdasco's dangerous FH and once he does that he can be favourite to win a majority of rallies.

Anyone remember when Davydenko was used as an example of why the current era sucked donkey balls?
Luckily, those days are no more and Davydenko is getting the respect he deserves.

Congratulations, Kolya!
