Great match. Korolev almost won it, but nice fightback from Gilles.
Bangkok QF: Simon def. Korolev 4-6, 6-3, 6-4whattheheck 10-02-2009, 09:01 AM Great match. Korolev almost won it, but nice fightback from Gilles. duong 10-02-2009, 09:05 AM just a note : after his match against Kim yesterday, Simon said that he still felt the pain in his knee. he's played with that pain for a long time now and it's still there. As for the match against Korolev, I didn't see it but I can imagine easily that Korolev made great shots but got annoyed and could lose his focus when Simon caught the ball back several times. Fedexex 10-02-2009, 09:11 AM welldone Simon:yeah: Korolev lead 2-0 in the third set but Simon played an amazing game to break back.. HattonWBA 10-02-2009, 09:12 AM Great match and very entertaining. You could see how much confidence Korolev has, some of his shots were incredible especially his slice smash shots from deep on the baseline, Korolev was awesome first set did not let Simon settle, Simon bounced back well though and struck the ball as well as i have seem him for a long time in the last 2 sets barely made an unforced error and got everything back. Hopefully Korolev can keep playing very well like he is at the moment because he has so much gasme and theres not a player out there who his the ball harder imo. Simon faces Melzer next should be interesting match. Good luck Gilles. born_on_clay 10-02-2009, 09:32 AM Good luck Gilles in next round sammy01 10-02-2009, 10:09 AM keep it going simon, nice tough win! I think it is tendonitis? In which case, this is probably going to plague him for the rest of his career. Even if he manages his schedule well, he probably still needs to train quite hard to maintain his playing ability and focus... Well, you are correct again with the result, but I deserve half a point for predicting a stern test by Korolev this time. :) JoshDragon 10-02-2009, 09:06 PM Simon sucks.
