It was because there were so many withdrawals from the Main Draw and the Alternates List, that Marcos and Ernests Gulbis got in automatically as the next alternates down on the list :shrug: Good luck to them both anyway.

His season is over. 2 weeks rest and then training to get ready for next year (3 weeks in Paris + 3 weeks in Argentina, incl. exhibition matches in Argentina at mid December).

Next year will start with Brisbane and Syndey or Kooyong

And his ranking doesn't need them anymore :shrug:
