That's huge

18 players of the top-30 !

Tokyo needs Murray and Del Potro to be comparable (they have Fed and Tsonga already).

Which they do.

Just need Nadal to commit to Valencia and you have potential top 4 match ups in every late season 500 and all top 12 semis. For the casual fan the tail end of the season has improved incredibly from what it was last year, in the UK sky will probably end up doubling there coverage from last year at the end of the season and I presume it'll be the same all over.

Mr Wildcard Safin again  WHY WHY WHY does he never enter a tournament in time???? Always takes wildcards away from players who are not able to enter directly

Safin wasn't ranked high enough to enter directly: #58 on the entry deadline; the cut-off was #45.

Safin didn't need to be ranked high enough to enter directly :

Beijing is an ATP500 tournament,

and Safin is a committed player (top-30 in the end of last year) who can enter all ATP500 tournaments directly (see for instance Schuettler, ranked very low who could enter Tokyo directly).
