Why is Young on that list? he didn't get a WC. So he has to qualify and winning 3 straight matches for D.Young would be nothing less than a minor miracle.

I've heard he will unofficially be claimed US Open champion if he makes the MD.

Interesting speculation. Roddick is the obvious choice, but I'll go for Fish.

I HOPE Andy Roddick!

But you know, I've always liked Donald Young.

Now see, he'd be this type of Cinderella story the crowd would just eat-up.

What the deal with Donald Young, anyway? I remember a lot of commentators saying how talented he was.. Why hasn't he fulfilled his potential..

Sorry for the wiki citation, but I wanted to read more about Donald Young:

Began playing tennis at age three with mother, Illona, and father, Donald, Sr. who are both tennis teaching professionals...Parents run the South Fulton Tennis Center in College Park, Georgia, outside of Atlanta after Donald Sr. took over operations in fall of 2003...Writes right-handed...Trains on occasion at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. with Nick Bollettieri...Favorite athletes are Michael Jordan, Pete Sampras and Tiger Woods ...Enjoys playing table tennis and board games like Monopoly....Only sports figure in Newsweek Magazine's "Who's Next?" feature on Dec. 27, 2004...In 2005, became youngest year-end World No. 1 in junior rankings at 16 years, 5 months (one month younger than Richard Gasquet in '02)...Won Australian Open junior title at age 15 to become youngest-ever and first African-American boy to be ranked No. 1 in the world...Also first American to win Australian junior title and finish No. 1 since Andy Roddick in 2000...Advanced to SF at Wimbledon and QF at US Open in '05...In doubles, won US Open title (w/Clayton) and reached final at Australian Open (w/De Bakker)....In 2007, captured Wimbledon junior title, first American to win since Scott Humphries in 1994...In 2004, reached Orange Bowl 18-under final (l. to Neilly) and in 2003 won Orange Bowl 16-under title (d. Thron), becoming first American to win that age division title since Jim Courier in 1986...Won Easter Bowl 14s and 18s titles in 2003-04...Named as Davis Cup practice partner for QF tie vs. Spain in 2007...Coached by parents.[8]
Donald Young, wiki entry.

Hmmm He's a lefty. Yeah...He's had some recent success at the U.S. Open last year against James Blake?
Of course, according to the entry, Donald Young's biggest problem is he's coached by his parents!

Oh boy.. but hey.. he's got some talent even though he's currently ranked 159! :help: He has a career high ranking of 73.

He might want to rethink his coaching choices.

Now.. don't mess with me! I just remember him, and commentators talking about his talent. He's had some success... but.. well 159.. uh no.

I don't think he'll be the last American standing.

Roddick is so far ahead of the rest of the guys, it is unfunny. Impossible to turn a blind eye to him.

But I think the Americans should feel positive about their prospects with some of the others...Ginepri and Isner can knock off a few players. Blake and Fish could challenge for the 2nd week if they are fit enough...maybe expecting too much of the former. :o Querrey really ought to be looking at R4 (made it last year iirc?)...anything less than that would be a disappointment considering his post-Wimbledon results (albeit in MM events) and that he is knocking on the door of top 20.

Fish and Blake both got peak in their career. they done. maybe out 2nd Round

Isner is big deal. Ginepri is uncertain. If he plays in his best which may surprise our eye. If not.....may out 1st round.
Querrey always suck in Slam

Britton is a brand New name to me as NCAA champs. Hope him do well in his first USO

Unless Roddick somehow "de-seeds" himself and draws Federer (and maybe Murray or Djok) in the first round, I think it's very possible to say.

Kind of a useless poll, as Roddick is clearly the heavy favorite to go deepest. Better poll would have been "AFTER Roddick, who...?"

And the answer to that is probably Querrey. He's a mug, but he plays much better in America and his huge serve and awful-to-watch-but-mediocre ground game can get him to R4, or even the QF.

Isner has that puncher's chance to go deep, but I seriously doubt it.
Blake is more worried about his fashion line or whatever BS he's doing these days....it'd take a miraculous performance by the J-Block to right the Blake ship for this event.
Fish has been nonexistant for a few months.....is he hurt or what?

Out of the WC's....I like Levine out of that group. Dent could put together a tight win or two, but his style of play just isn't going to last long in this tourney. Levine is a decent player and could hit R3 or R4 if really lucky.

The confidence in Blake is stunning. If I could vote again though, I'd go with The Don.

no possible way Fish even wins his opener

it's Querrey because he is seeded, and therefore will be favored to make it to the third round

Yes I asked the same question few weeks ago

but now. It's more clear than few weeks ago

1. Roddick

2. Isner Beats Roddick (35%)

3. Blake Beats Federer (5%)

4. Sam Qerrey beats Robin (30%)

5. Jesse Witten beats Djok (0.01%)

6. Robby Ginepri beats Almagro and then Nadal (8%)

7. Jesse Levine beats Cilic (7%)

8. Taylor Dent beats Andy Murray (0.05%)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think is most possible to happen?

All depends who wins next match that .........could easily answer the question. <<Who is the last American leave>>

& the only one which will survive to the second week will be
the big hitting Roddick.
