Was @ the match.

Gasquet played an okay match. He was still finding his rhythm for sure. Raced to a quick 4-1 lead in the first set, and finished it off strong. No real serving problems.

The second set was more competitive. Gasquet's opponent was a guy who didn't make many mistakes, got good length on his shots, and was consistent. He didn't have too many weapons to hurt Gasquet, except when he came in and forced Gasquet to pass him.

Match point was a typical Gasquet backhand up the line for a clean winner, was nice to finally see him play in person.

And yes, New Haven has some great nightclubs :).

:wavey: Gusman.

Was also at the match.

The only thing that I can add to Gusman's report is that I think it was good that he had to play qualifying. As Gusman said, he was finding his rhythm, and while not too too rusty, I thought he was hitting a few more short balls than he could afford in a match against a top player.

Overall, he match wasn't much longer than a practice (I think about 1 hour 15 minutes, Gusman?), and his opponent was a good practice partner.

BTW - Fabrice was there supporting Richard on during the first set. Nice to see him - I like Fabrice.

(And another yes, there are great nightclubs in New Haven. Richard should fun there... :))

Yes indeed. But Richard must avoid kissing girls who have been doing coke! Doping aside, Gasquet's style is awesome and I have been missing it so I'm glad he's back.:rocker2:
