It's good because we will know in some sense who is the best on hardcourts at the moment.

And most of their matches were useless but their last match was great, so maybe it's an indicator of tomorrow's match.

 @ the poll so far.

Djokovic smashed Nadal here in the SF last year right after it was confirmed that Federer would lose his #1 Rank to Rafa. I just don't think Novak can be dismissed so easily but I'm hoping Nadal wins this, and if he does, it will probably be in three.

At this moment it doesn't look good for Djokovic. He will have to bring his level from Madrid(with few modifications), on hardcourt it should bring him the win, but he wasn't been even near that form in the past months. I am anxious to find out if Nadal serve today was really that good or it was just Berdych misreading it completely.

Absolutely no idea who is most likely to win this one.

At least I'm glad Murray/Federer is the first semi-final, because then I'll know who I'd prefer to win second semi-final.

If Federer beats Murray, I'd like to see Nadal beat Djokovic, but if Murray wins I'd like him to play Djokovic in the final.

Djokovic started playing again like pu$$y. One good mach, then dozens with "dont get involved too much because I will feel very bad if I loose tight again". He is mentally weak for SF. If he does not think that he can beat Rafael 100% he will loose. Unfortunately this is 2nd season in a row where he does not have confidence. Blockades in every movement. This is more painful than playing like tiger and loosing even 20-0 in a row. He automatically keep saying to himself that his opponents are better players.

Cure is to recall how he felt in last SF which is mission impossible for him. He cleansed Nadal from court.

I'd like to say Rafa but I have a feeling Nole will take this. For Nadal to win, depth is the key here along with his positioning on the court. If he's too passive and finds himself pushed right back, it will be like last years SF but if he take control of the rallies and start working Djokovic over, he's in with a shot. He'll need to serve really well, a high percentage of first ones needed and his ROS will need to be vastly improved if he wishes to break serve himself. I see this going three sets with one tiebreaker.

Nole in 2. Saw Nadal against Berdych, nothing special. The commentators are highly retarded...saying he's back? He;s lucky Berdshit is a mental case.

Fast hardcourt, Djoko can return, he can cover the court and be solid. If he decides to bring his backhand and forehand to the match at optimum, this will be over quick.

Djokovic is 4-3 against Nadal on hard. Cincy favours Djokovic even more so. However, I still think Nadal can win to complete his set of Masters Series finals.

Berdych was 2-0 on Deco Turf but this didn't help him too much yesterday :D

I think Novak will win  After all those bitter losses to Rafa this year he'll be very eager to finally pose a win and will play his best. And since I don't want second Madrid SF I prefer Rafa doesn't push too much. A SF on fast Cincy courts is good enough for USOpen preparation.

Good luck, Rafa :)

I like both Rafa and Nole, so this is a tough one!

I'll say Rafa in three because I like storybook endings! I'd like to see Rafa make a comeback. Or maybe I should vote for Nole because it might be too early for Rafa to "peak"? Hmmmmm this is even more difficult than I thought!

I'm not going against Rafa, so I'll pick him. But it wouldn't kill me if Nole won. In fact, it would be good for Nole.

I think Nole will win. All 4 of his wins over Rafa have come on North American hardcourts, 3 of them in Masters SF (and the other in a Masters QF)

The signs all say "Novak victory" :bigcry:

If Fed wins this afternoon maybe Rafa will be more motivated to kill himself to win, because then he will give himself a chance of being #2 seed for USO (I know he says the ranking is not a priority, but I don't really believe him)

SF is a much better result than I was expecting, and it equals his best ever showing in Cinci.

If Rafa did win, he'd be the first man to make the final of all 9 MS events. (I thought Federer had already done that, but he must be missing one which must be Paris?)

Two of Djokovic's wins came on the slow North American hard courts (one in Indian Wells and one in Miami). It would be better to look at the H2H on fast hard courts (2-2, counting indoor), or on DecoTurf (2-1 Djokovic).

I could do that, but it wouldn't really suit my pessemistic outlook as much.

Also Rafa's 2 fast court wins can be discounted, IMO, because one of them came while Nole was getting embarassed by everyone at TMC '07, and the other came in a really big match and I would always give Rafa the edge over Nole in those situations :D

Djokovic can't win this. He can't lose to a just coming back Nadal. Commentators saying Nadal's back :retard:
Who as he beaten. Seppi, who he struggled with, Mathieu and Birdshit who are a headcases. Yep, he's definately back. Federer, Murray and Djokovic don't stand a chance after all of the amazing talent Nadal has plowed through in this tournament.

Bad news.
Nadal improved to a 150-39 match record at ATP World Tour Masters 1000 level and he now is one match away from becoming the first player in history to reach nine different Masters 1000 finals.
Don't know how about you, but I'm used to see another player breaking those type of records.

Nadal looks sharper, tougher and more eager but I think Djokovic is still capable of beating Nadal because I think he’ll come out with some of his best tennis tomorrow. Djokovic’s best hc tennis form is something pretty special, and we saw that at the AO in 2008.

It’s all in the head for someone like Djokovic. If he’s on, I think he can beat Nadal on hc in bo3 format.

Based on their QF matches, I would say Nadal in two. But it would be nice to see Novak getting a win over Nadal again, he was absolutely crushed after the Madrid match, so it would help him to get back on track.

(Also, it would be nice if after his disastrous start of the year up to Rome, Roger gets to win his next match against all of Nadal, Murray and Nole; I wasn't convinced he would win against any of them ever again).

I think there's more pressure on Nadal coming into this one than there is on Djokovic which might help Nole just swing freely and have a big crack at it. I think either player here will lose in the Final but I'd hoping Rafa can pull through to gain a few more points and really test himself out to see where he's at vs. Roger.

I'm going with Rafa in two.

Nole had a little freak-out during the Chardy match, so questionable if he can hold it mentally together.

Looking at Rafa's celebrations during good points, he's only gained momentum. Knowing it could be the first time he'll meet Roger in a final since Madrid should be motivation enough. Plus, Murray to lose points while Rafa will have matched his.
