Not yet.

1st serve point won 18th,2nd serve 8th,service hold % 15th.With his groundstrokes that shows it still has a way to go to be top10 IMO.

This is because if you see him serve well, French Open against Federer. It was simply awesome on song! Even under pressure.

Improving amazingly quickly. But still a bit patchy. At times this summer he has served gallons of aces and service winners in a row, and at other times he has missed first serve after first serve after first serve. But when his serve is on, it is untouchable as much as Roddick's if not more so, because of that height advantage.

His first serve is right up there and still getting better, his second serve is also very solid so very encouraging base for his game.

+ for me his first serv is like a top 6 and second like a top 12 :o

For a guy his height his serve should be better. The signs are that his serve is improving so that is good news.

His serve can be pretty good but I think that considering Del Potro's height it could be better.

guy serves almost all his serves 130-138mph, its not bad...but he needs some accuracy to that, especially that slice serve but for sure its top 10 at least.

His serve sucks and isn't even Top 20.

His second serve is one of his biggest weapons, one of the best in the game. His first serve is inconsistent, but when he finds his rhythm is very reliable. But overall he has improved them a lot, so as his forehand and movement.

ATP website is saying that his average 1st serve % is 61, its not that inconsistent

He tends to slow them down if he isn't feeling confident with it. That's something he would do much more often a few years ago, now he is taking more risks and serving bigger in an average basis, but still as Leo said it's still patchy.

top 10 but not consistent at times... it has potential to be the best on tour as seen in his match against Federer in RG.

The posters on this board are harsh harsh harsh as always. Compared to where his serve used to be, Del Pots deserves major credit. He used to have two second serves, now he can reach about 140 MPH smack on the line.

actually Madrid semifinal against Federer he hit couple of serves 142 and 143 mph.
