obv. murray.

but I really hope Benneteau makes him work. Took a liking of him at Wimby. Seems like a cool guy.

Murray in two. Should be easy but not as easy as Stepanek.

Murray will certainly beat Benneteau, but will Federer beat Hewitt?

this is why murray wins mastermug titles, luckily escaped against fatigued Potro last week and possible semifinal spot awaiting again beating : almagro, stepanek, benneteau :haha:

this is considered masterseries level? gosh, its like 250 tournament.

Hardly a useless thread - Benneteau has 4 votes ;)

Gilles may get all defensive when he gets tight and nervous, but he's at his best when he's being more aggresive.

Murray on the other hand just dinks everything back, Wimbledon was a travesty, he didn't even bother with topspin.

What a joke draw for Murray. I hope he enjoys winning these two masters titles and an early exit in the US Open.

How is it a joke draw?

"IF" he manages to beat Benneteau followed by Federer (likely) then Nadal/Djokovic (again likely) - I can't see how he has been handed the two masters titles as people are suggesting.

This match SUX. Besides the ridiculous and amazing 53-stroke pusher rally, which ended with a comical overhead miss from the Frenchman, this match has been a huge snooze.

Oh god, I'm ready for tonight's quarterfinals and (hopefully) Murray vs. Federer tomorrow.

I think Cincinnati consistently brings out poor tennis in the men and women. Maybe it's the combination of intense heat and humidity, unlike any other stop on the tour.

Good point, I don't remember any particularly special matches here.

There's been a few in Canada in the past but here, most matches aren't fun.

Yeah the quality in Cincy is consistently worse than Canada, and I think that is partly due to the timing of the event (players may be tired after Canada or tanking pre-USO) but also to the crummy, hot, middle-America weather.

I remember 2002 Cincinnati was fun but besides that lots of meh this past decade.
