Poor line calls in this match. Constant coaching from Kolya's wife during breaks. Nevertheless, glad Gilles won.:)

Nevertheless, glad Gilles won.:) rubbERR 08-20-2009, 11:54 PM good win simug, his biggest this season  TMJordan 08-20-2009, 11:54 PM Way to go Gilles. Don't think Davydenko wanted any part of this match, he was horrible. I did notice alot of shotty line calls also. But Gilles got it done and thats what matters. Djokovic next and some revenge. whattheheck 08-20-2009, 11:55 PM Simon back to winning matches again :) habibko 08-20-2009, 11:55 PM bad result for tennis  Cloudygirl 08-20-2009, 11:55 PM terrible line calls. Gilles got really worked up. selyoink 08-20-2009, 11:55 PM Embarassing loss for Davy. Hopefully he is just saving up for a big US Open. Fiberlight1 08-20-2009, 11:56 PM Giles!! rocketassist 08-20-2009, 11:57 PM Awful result for tennis. What was his total? Tennisfan-Mtl 08-21-2009, 12:01 AM Gilles :D Three wins in a row :woohoo: ;) Good luck against Djoko :) rtgy 08-21-2009, 12:02 AM ALLEZ!!!:worship::D:worship: Bilbo 08-21-2009, 12:03 AM expected one kutafon 08-21-2009, 12:05 AM expected one never in doubt no sweat Voo de Mar 08-21-2009, 12:06 AM Good win over the biggest competitor for 8th spot in Masters Cup :yeah: Simon should've won 1st set (6:4 in TB). At least he showed second time this week that close losing set doesn't disturb him. Denko de Ant is so funny with his helplessness at the net  rubbERR 08-21-2009, 12:09 AM 7 & 8 spots are open, not only 8th ;) Burrow 08-21-2009, 12:10 AM The answer you are looking for is G.Simon. Voo de Mar 08-21-2009, 12:17 AM 7 & 8 spots are open, not only 8th ;) IMO Tsonga with his indoor skills is almost certain in London. After US Open he probably will play 4 or 5 indoor tournaments to secure his spot easily. lalaland 08-21-2009, 12:22 AM I'm glad that he didn't implode after losing the first set, he was so mad after that TB. Good job Gilles for hanging in there to take it. Now Nole is next, winnable since Nole isn't in his right mind either lately. GlennMirnyi 08-21-2009, 12:22 AM Pathetic. rofe 08-21-2009, 12:25 AM From what I saw, Denko was quite impatient with his shots today. He was pretty much trying to hit winners from awkward positions. felipe2004 08-21-2009, 12:40 AM Simon had only 1 winner on second set, but 18 overall. Simon was pushing more than he has been lately in this match, but it was a good tactic, because Davydenko was making A LOT of unforced erros. Good to see Simon through! :D Good luck against Djokovic now! ;) MalwareDie 08-21-2009, 12:47 AM What a terrible result. Simug better not make it to London. Guy Haines 08-21-2009, 12:52 AM :hearts: A dozen red roses to all you Gilles fans. Glad I decided not to watch this match. Nothing against Simon but Davydenko beats himself with his unforced errors and trying to force shots, he doesn't even need an opponent when he plays like this. Which is sad because when he's playing well it's beautiful. HeretiC 08-21-2009, 07:32 AM Funny match, Davydenko in the first set made so many US'e that he usually makes per tournament 28 and he still won that set. The more errors he was making more aggressive he was becoming hitting either UE's or winners. Simon was extremely passive forcing something like 1 error from Denko in the first and 2 in the second set, everything else was the did from the Russian. I didn't watch the third so I can't comment, but I suspect it went similar like previous 2. Both were extremely nervous on court, yelling, cursing. Gilles even tried to break his racquet, hit em once on the ground and once from the net pillar and he only managed to scrap the paint on the frame. No game-plans from either of them, Davydenko just tried to end the rally with every shot, Simon just tried to stay in it, retrieving safely mostly to the middle of the court. whattheheck 08-21-2009, 08:19 AM Hope Gilles does better tomorrow. leng jai 08-21-2009, 08:31 AM the fuck is this? Kolya 08-21-2009, 09:20 AM Kolya hates Simon. Certinfy 08-21-2009, 09:41 AM Should have won in straight sets :o Tutu 08-21-2009, 11:28 AM Did well Gilles, hopefully he can be more aggressive against the Djoker though because when he does, it's  Forehander 08-21-2009, 01:01 PM Go kill yourself Davydenko Chiakifug 08-21-2009, 03:37 PM Gilles back to what he does best, pretty much pushing. I still love him though. :hearts: Great win, keep this up, and keep playing like this and stop pretending to be offensive, it doesnt work. jmsx521 08-21-2009, 03:50 PM ...Constant coaching from Kolya's wife during breaks...His brother doesn't seem to be there, but I didn't know/think she coaches him now. Maybe you mean not coaching, but just motivational looks at each other. sammy01 08-21-2009, 06:45 PM watched most of this. simon should have won the 1st. davy was a mess and was lucky simon was having a total spaz whenever he went infront. still its always good to see simon winning these matches, go sexy simon | |
