Murray continues to win and had points to win 2nd set 6-0. Soon he will be favourite to win US Open.

Not bad....a bit off on the serve early in the second set but the ground game was looking pretty good - Stepanek was having some success going hard and flat into the Murray forehand, but not enough.

34 winners 16 UEs from Murray

WHAT a performance by Murray!
Very clean, solid game. To me he's been the fav to win both Cincy and the USO for quite a while already, and it's rather scary to only see him become even stronger...

Very entertaining first set btw - some great shotmaking from both players. Stepanek did very well to hang in there and in fact it was just one weak serve game that made him lose that first set. In the second however, he completely lost it - started to make more UEs and Muzza completely took over.
Still, kudos to Sexy for the entertainment in that first set. :yeah:

Bit personal from Murray in the 2nd set, he wanted to rub it in, one too many mindgames from SexyLips.

When Stepanek finally held to avoid the bagel, he gave Murray a real stare as if he'd accomplished something ..... Murray gave him the you've-got-to-be-kidding glance in reply, and pointed at the scoreboard.

Some outstanfing returning from Murray.

And that's exactly why Feds won't have any chance against this Murray, as it looked today as if he couldn't return properly to save his life. :o

Too good from Murray by a distance. Shame for Steps, he deserved to be in the Simon section of the draw where he could beat up on some clowns.

Wouldn't mind a Fed-Murray match.

Yeah... that would've been nice indeed. Bad Luck, Sexy.

If both play the way they did today, it's going to be a damn boring affair. :o

I left work with Steps serving 30-0 at 4/5.

I expected him at least to have lost the first set to 5, not to 4.

Expected outcome - bad matchup, Steps returning from a long time off the tour, injured.

That was an excellent performance but I wish Petchey and the rest of the Sky commentators would stop talking as if there was no doubt he would win Cincy and the US Open and get to #1.

He's got work to do yet.

Murray looked good, decent match overall, despite Stepanek managing to win only five games. Stepanek's net-rushing made for some fun exchanges.

Btw, who can forget the classic match Stepanek had versus Federer in the semis of the Montreal Masters in 2007? Some of the best serve-volley tennis (from Radek) all year.
