Thanks for winning, Berdych, only because your losses tend to mean Lucie will lose the same day too.

Picasso is saving his paints for the Open.

Petzsch blew a double minibreak in the first tiebreak, oops.

Good to see Petzschner getting good results against one of the best baseliners in the world.

What with tie-breaks? Had Berdych mp in the 2nd tie-break, had Petzschner setpoints in the 1st tie-break?

If I remember right...

Petzsch gives up double minibreak, inc. a double fault.
Berdy **6-3, triple mp
Petzsch wins next 3 points
Petzsch no longer under mp threat, so relaxes and gives up minibreak.
Berdy on mp, of course it gives it right back.
Petzsch wins.

Berdych's luck denied us a Gooch/Picasso 3rd round. :( What a shame. This would have been a show stopper, especially in a big tournament like this.

yeah, big shame that... but phil i think proves to himself enough in the last two tournaments that he belongs here...

What's with that epic?

Petzschner was up...5-1? I think? in the first set tiebreak, and had multiple set points. I remember Berdych hit a pretty good/lucky shot at 6-4 to get a minibreak back but I don't think I was paying very close attention. :tape:

What a shame. Tennis would only benefit from a Petzschner-Guccione match.

The Gooch will school Berdych next round.
